The excellent nonfiction Devil in the Grove, featuring Thurgood Marshall in 1949 defending the Groveland Boys from charges of rape, is just $1.99 at Amazon and Kobo in the U.S., and possibly other ebook retailers.

A number of Ellery Queen titles are on sale for $1.99 at the usual ebook retailers, including Calamity Town the first in a handful of books set not in New York City but in upstate Wrightsville, NY. It is utterly wonderful and infinitely re-readable.

UK Kindle: book recommended by several LT friends etc, Square Haunting, is one of today's Kindle Daily Deals at £1.49

Lucy Malleson wrote over 60 crime novels in the early 20th century under the name Anthony Gilbert, and several novels and a memoir under the name Anne Meredith. The memoir was reprinted under the author's real name in 2019 and serialised here on the radio. It's available for £1.99. I remember the parts I caught sounded really interesting.

Amazon UK: Perhaps Dorothy L Sayers' best known Lord Peter Wimsey/Harriet Vine novel, and my favourite, Gaudy Night is a Kindle Daily Deal at 99p. Some of the others come up on Kindle regularly but there are a few that I've never seen on a good offer before.
