Hey y'all, we're still in the process of getting the final few orders processed (mostly ebooks), but I've been receiving shipping confirmation emails, so it's time to start this thread!
In past years, we've made a map tracking SantaThing deliveries, and we'll do our best to continue the tradition. If you'd like, feel free to post the following:
- Where you're located (not your specific address, just your city, state/province, and country or something identifiable for the map).
- Which bookstore your SantaThing order came from.
- The date on which it arrived.
I'll keep track of these and plot them on the SantaThing 2020 Arrivals map
And feel free to drop questions or concerns in this thread, as well!

I wouldn't worry yet. Postal services and packet handlers are swamped this time of year, and if previous years are anything to go by, some members' books may not arrive until mid-January (or even later!). Give it a few weeks before you worry about lost investments.
EDIT: Depending on where you are in the world, and which bookseller you selected, your delivery/ies may be stuck in the container gridlock around the UK.

>27 debbie1215: It's hard waiting, isn't it? If you're in the US, there are significant shipping delays, but as Christmas is still ahead of us, I'm curious as to why you feel swindled. The LT staff works very hard to make SantaThing work and is taking a financial hit on it this year. On the 25th you'll be able to see what books are on their way to you and if you haven't received them by mid-January, definitely get in touch with LT staff and they will help you.
35thornton37814
>34 RidgewayGirl: To say there are significant shipping delays with the United States Postal Service is an understatement. Everyone I know is complaining about it. Packages are taking strange way-out-of-the-way routes to arrive at destinations. Some packages get stuck for weeks at a location and are finally found and sent. I've got a package that was last updated in Durham, NH on December 13, but I've got friends who have them from late November and earlier in December. Obviously USPS is unable to handle the volume of mail and packages they are getting in 2020.

Looks from the PostNL app as though there may be a couple more that made it across the North Sea in time and are still on the way :-)
>35 thornton37814: Packages are taking strange way-out-of-the-way routes to arrive at destinations.
Yes — I tried to circumvent the postal delays by ordering a (non-SantaThing) gift for a friend in the US from a bookstore that seemed to be reasonably close to his home, and in the same state. The USPS tracking data reports that it was sent to a distribution centre some 200km away in the wrong direction (and two states away), and has been "in transit" from there for the last six days. Presumably they shipped it out by air and it's returning by muletrain.

I'm guessing the "One Stop Shipping" (I may have forgotten the last word) packages on my USPS dashboard are books from Book Depository. If so, I have two scheduled to arrive tomorrow although I suspect they are going to be late. The books apparently arrived at the Atlanta airport because they started out in Austell, Georgia in Cobb County. Then they went to Glen Ellyn, Illinois. Presently one is in Oxford, Mississippi. The other still shows Illinois. A third shows an undetermined delivery date and appears to still be in Georgia. I just don't see them arriving to my mail box in East Tennessee (even if I were going to be home) by tomorrow. My mail will be held until the day after I plan to return. So I will find out what my books are before I open the packages if I peek. I may wait.

I was taking a peek at the map to see if anything had arrived in Canada yet (not that's been reported). And although not marked on the map itself, I saw Airdrie listed.
I had no idea there was an Airdrie, Scotland! I'm in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, and there is an Airdrie, Alberta just outside Calgary. (Before long we'll probably envelope it, but for now it's its own city.)

That's promising. I'm over in the Fraser Valley, but rural so not always sure if something will arrive via house, mailbox, or post office.

Picked up two of my books today from my PO Box in Brisbane, Australia (possibly arrived last week but have been away). There should be one more coming. :)

I sent a package to friends the day before Christmas priority and it's been sitting at a distribution center in Massachusetts for a week past it's arrival date. I wonder if my books coming here are stuck in the same place trying to get in.

I received my second and last book from Book depository yesterday! Thank you to my secret Santa who did a great job. I'm near Asheville, NC

YAY! My package from Powell's arrived in Maryland today! Excited to have two books that are new to me and look great, and one book (Homegoing) that I already own, which I'll share with a friend. Thanks secret Santa!

Delivery from Book People arrived in San Antonio, TX today. Thank you LibraryThing and SantaThing gang for putting it all together, so my little one could participate.

Received a package of three books today in Montreal, Canada. All three are great choices for me.

I received my first one of two today from Book Depository. Calgary, Alberta, Canada. :-) I have already sent a thank you to my Santa (I peeked on Christmas day!)

Mine too! Got them from the mailbox yesterday (rural, Fraser Valley in BC, Canada) so not sure of the exact day they got here. Got another card exchange, too! I forget what I asked for (I'll have to look up my book blurb) but I'm quite pleased with what I got. :)

Haven't gotten my books from Powell's yet. This seems ridiculous, to have paid $5 in shipping, just so I'd get them before Christmas. Now, it's Jan 13! I'm in WA state.

>165 Tuke15: Hi Tuke15,

Delivery from Book Depository containing 3 books, all interesting choices for me -- arrived Jan 12 = yesterday ! Arrived at my home in New Westminster, BC, Canada. That completes the gift from Santathing. Thank you so much! This is fun!

I'm still waiting for books from River Run which katemcangus told me were shipped on 12/20. From personal experience with sending and receiving other packages this season, I'm not really surprised they're not here yet.

Hey, mine arrived in Northern Virginia from BookPeople today! The mailing label indicates it was sent on 1/2/2021, which would certainly explain why it didn't arrive by Christmas! :)
Three great picks, though, and I'm excited for all of them. Another successful Santathing!

>170 laze: Thanks for the shipping information, laze! I'm glad to hear the books were good picks even if they arrived late.

>171 katemcangus: For sure. Worth the wait!

My family's books arrived from LBB last night and were postmarked 12/21. Great picks all around and my kids were esp. jazzed! One benefit to the shipping delay is that enough time has passed since Christmas that they can focus on *new* presents.

Received my book today. Many thanks to LibraryThing SantaThing coordinators who made it all possible.

The last of my 3 books arrived yesterday. Air traffic and the current state of the global mail network being what it is, I'm just glad that I received everything in the end!
