Group Read, December 2020: Mrs. ‘Arris Goes to Paris

Could not find this book locally so have ordered from Better World Books. Hopefully it won't take too long to arrive.

Fun read to finish the year. The movie version is also lots of fun, wth Angela Lansbury and Omar Sharif.

Sounds super cute and fun! I'll try to make time for it!

Fifty pages in. Very entertaining but so condescending.

I'm almost done with this. It's a very enjoyable read, kind of perfect for a holiday season spent unable to travel. Good on whoever suggested it! However, the attitudes are so annoyingly 1950s. When the glamorous model realizes that all she really wants in life is to cook and clean for a nice ordinary man, I almost lost it. Better books don't date quite as obviously as this one has.

I have my copy ready and will be starting it this week.

I am about 4 chapers into the book and I am finding it a great read for my busy December. Charming and light, although certainly dated, I am enjoying it.

I have completed Mrs. 'arris Goes to Paris and although rather dated with regards to attitudes and opinions about women, I did throughly enjoy this light-hearted adult fairy tale. I am somewhat confused by why this particular book made the 1,001 list, but it was nice to read a simple story that wasn't driven by angst and darkness.
