For context, there's a discussion here. Fortunately in that case the person who added the potentially-spoilery character was there, chimed in, and we reached an agreement on this particular case.
There are situations where the appearance of a character in the CK: Characters list for a book can constitute a spoiler. Think of a situation where a character, thought dead at the end of Book One, appears in the list of characters for Book Two. There's no obvious hard-and-fast rule for whether they should be included, but it would be nice to have the option to include them but mark it as a spoiler. "Click to show spoilers" code already exists for CK - it's used for the Last Words field - so this would require allowing users to turn it on as-needed for other fields. Not at all a high priority, but something that may be worth a look if someone's in the CK code anyway.

I'd like this, too.

Do people really consider that a spoiler? That seems a stretch. It may just as well be a flashback or an indirect reference.

There was also one where the full character's married name was given, but you don't find out til mostly of the way through the book that her husband was lying about his real last name.

igorken (#3):
In the particular case that raised this issue, it is a spoiler. I agree it wouldn't always be.
