LEC Monthly Letter Details

This is a somewhat esoteric post regarding the LEC Monthly Letters. The numbering scheme between the MLs and the 1985 LEC Bibliography can be confusing to even the most seasoned collector. So here goes a summary of “points” pertaining to the Letters and associated titles.
MLs #1-4: no book associated with these letters as they preceded publication of “The Travels of Lemuel Gulliver”, LEC biblio #1.
MLs #63-64: associated with Burton’s “The Thousand Nights and a Night”, LEC biblio #59.
ML #65: Letter only, no title association.
ML #79, #81: associated with the “King James Holy Bible”, LEC biblio #73.
ML #113, #123: Letters only, no title association.
ML #124-125: associated with “Casanova’s Memoirs”, LEC biblio #116.
ML #137: Letter only, no title association.
ML #144-145: associated with “Pepys’ Diary”, LEC biblio #135.
ML #177: associated with “Emerson’s Poems”, LEC biblio #168
ML #178: associated with “The Wonderful Adventures of Paul Bunyan”, LEC biblio #167
Note on the above two titles: Biblio # 168 Emerson's "Poems" actually preceded Biblio #167 "Paul Bunyan" by a month: "Poems" issued in January 1945, "Paul Bunyan" issued in February 1945

I have never found a letter associated with the following three sets of “Evergreen Tales” titles, nor is there a ML# that logically fits with them, all ML #s are all sequentially accounted for during these years:
Saint George and the Dragon
Beauty and the Beast
Dick Whittington and His Cat
Tale (The) of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves
Sleeping (The) Beauty in the Wood
Ugly (The) Duckling
Bluebeard
Hansel and Gretel
Jack and the Beanstalk

ML #260-261: associated with “Arabian Nights Entertainments”, LEC biblio #254.
LEC biblio #459-465 were not used to bring the biblio #s in synch with the ML #466 in 1973.
ML #509 and biblio #509 were not used.
ML #559 associated with “the Old Man and the Sea”, LEC biblio #559
ML #559 associated with “The Black Swan”, ML #559 is mistakenly labelled, and should be labelled #563.

My apologies if I have made any errors.

It's possible only one or two letters were sent out for the Evergreen Tales as a whole. I'll have to look into that.

Thanks for sharing your research Sport1963!

>1 Sport1963:

Many thanks for this.

Am I correct in understanding that there were no Announcements or Monthly Letters for the 3 reference volumes:

-Quarto-Millenary (1959)
-Bibliography of the Fine Books...(1985)
-Monthly Letter:The First Fifty Monthly Letters (1987)

>3 gmurphy: You are incorrect about Quarto-Millenary. It came with ML and announcement.
