>1 saintmelville: Did you get an email/mailer on this one, or just happened to stumble across it on the website? The existing photos show no illustrations, although the description references that it contains all the illustrations. I simply wonder about the quality.

>2 hamletscamaro: No email or mailing, just saw it on the site AM hours yesterday when using "Easton press products" as a search entry. The quantity ticker had incremented from 222 items to 226 with the additions of 3676, 2820, 2782 plus another item of some sort. Haven't looked on hathitrust for an equivalent and see how many / what kind of illustrations are present. Hopefully, EP will soon add the remaining photos and satisfy our curiosity.

>3 saintmelville: As if in answer, I just received the new EP catalog last night, with this title prominantly on teh cover and page 3. But no extra details or photos on the illustrations. So yes, I presume additional photos will be forthcoming on the website once they get around to it. (Or possibly not, who knows with EP.)

Has anyone brought this or can offer pictures or opinions?

>5 Comatoes: yes, I would like to know as well. This seems like a neat item, but we know that alchemy is just wrong. So, worth the purchase? History? Stories? What are we getting? wiki says very little

>6 astropi: I believe that the contents should be the same - details are displayed in the photos:

Publishing a $300 set without any marketing materials to show in the website or at-least-somewhat-detailed promotional flyers sent out to subscribers seems to be Easton Press's thing these days. Whether it affects their sales, I cannot tell...

>7 EPsonNY:

Half the time EP doesn't even bother to type out the name of the author in its description of a book - you have to zoom in on the stock photo and hope you can read it from the spine. The key thing to remember is that EP is simply a division of a trinkets and collectibles company (MBI) and that's how the corporation views these books. Whomever it was that started EP, had recognized the opportunity and value of buying the Heritage Press rights and Macy publishing materials, and genuinely cared about books - they're long gone.
