"the" in sorting

Can I sort books by title without a gazillion in 'T for the'?

The Echo should be Echo, The.

Yep. Click on edit in the book and look next to the title - there is a small drop down. This is where you specify which character the sorting should start from. For books that start with the, the value should be 5.

Usually these are auto-set but if you have older records or if you imported as is, they may not be.

If you have a lot of weird settings of the sort character, you can take a look at the Tab Seperated Values export. Import it into a spreadsheet and sort by Title and look at the sort character. (I want all titles to sort the same way, so I always want the sort character to be 1.)
