Why do some books already show an author but others don't in my recently imported books?

Yesterday I imported a bunch of books by scanning their barcodes with the app. When I look at them on the page 'Your Books', some of them have a name in the author field, but others don't. Why does this happen and is there anything I can do about it? I liked scanning because I didn't have to manually add every books information!

It has to do with what source you brought your data in from. If the data came from Amazon, odds are good, that's where the lack of author came from.

To fix, you'd go into each book record and edit it. Or delete the book and reimport it form a different source.

Yes, it's entering from Amazon. Amazon works fairly well for very recent books in English. There are 23 Dutch sources, and one of those is certainly better for your Dutch books than Amazon.

Or you can try using Overcat, which is successful library searches. If your books are ones that members are likely to have already entered, you might try there.

Thank you, and also thanks gilroy (how do you quote someones username?). I will try using another source for any new books.

If you just want to highlight the person's name, put a @ sign in front of it (no space), and it will link to her profile.

If you want to link to her post in the thread, use > before the number of the post. (Again, no space.) That will automatically enter not just the post number, but also the name.
