University Friends Meeting in Seattle would like to know how Friends' libraries handle electronic resources.
How do you provide access?
How do you catalog?
What advice can you give?

Hi there Seattle Friends,
We mainly have print copy material, however when/if we locate an online digital copy that is freely available we provide the link by listing it under 'Comments' in the metadata fields e.g. "a digital copy is available through Digital Commons @ George Fox University - link to volume" or a digital copy is available through TEXT Archive - link to title - This way we acknowledge who has the item and provide access.
This is pretty much searchable (keyword search using 'all fields') and means our remote users can still access 'heritage' titles for free.

>1 jbetzzall: Hi Jonathan, David Matchett here — fun to find you. I’m not our librarian nor can I answer your question, but I’ve just started to poke around here, for more-or-less obvious reasons. I’ve spent half of this holiday break entering and tagging books, and take the occasional excursion into the chat. Maybe I’ll join the library committee... Good luck with your quest!
