Looking for humorous, intelligent historical romance

Love Georgette Heyer, and of course Jane Austen, and am desperate to find something even half as intelligent and fun. Usual suspects are Julia Quinn, Lisa Keyplas and Sherry Thomas (my favourite of the lot), but would be great to find another romance author that doesn't feel the need to dumb down the reader. Any ideas would be very welcome!

>1 DGRampton: I like Lisa See but her books aren't purely romance. Sue Monk Kidd as well but again not purely romance.

Alas, she's no longer writing, but Laura Kinsale!

For funny historical Jude Devereau is great! Also Julie Garwood!

I'd second Loretta Chase, and add Jo Goodman (particularly her more recent American historicals set in Colorado). Pamela Morsi and Maggie Osborne (both out of print but in libraries?) are also possibilities.

Amanda Quick has many historical romance titles with clever, funny dialog and situations.

Also, author Eloise James

This may be a stretch for you, but if you don't mind supernatural creatures (done in an intelligent, literary way, believe it or not), Gail Carriger's series starting with Soulless is most certainly humorous, intelligent, and (alternate history) historical! Seriously, it's great fun!

Heather Graham wrote a really great historical fiction book called Beguiled under the name Shannon Drake. I REALLY liked it. It was a really smart and delightful historical fiction. I hope you enjoy it too :)

Hello everyone! I need help finding this book

I really really hope someone can help me find this book based on the information that I have lol.
The cover of the book is animated. There's a black woman and a red dress. She's sitting next to a tall man and a suit and I think her hand is on his chest and she's wearing red heels.

This female art appraiser is standing in the attic appraising the property of a wealthy family and secretly looking for painting that her grandmother says was stole from her many years ago. She said the painting was given to her by her lover who married the other woman. But as she's in the attic doing her job and snooping, she meets the grandson of the rich woman. I think his name is Noah. He's tall and green eyed. He handles the financial business of the family I think. Anyways, she tries not to like him and he's doing everything to woo her and court her and she starts talking her grandma about him and in the end he gives her the painting to end the family feud
