I don't think the reduction has ever been more than one-third or 33% for the Letterpress Shakespearere's. I'm almost quite sure, since I think I bought one or more at every sale up till now.
Aug 2015: 60 GBP off of 295 GBP (~20%)
May 2016: 60 GBP off of 295 GBP (~20%)
Apr 2017: 33% off
Feb 2019: 33% off

Perhaps for UK residents, but the % off was better before for CDN residents, I believe. The regular prices much higher, so it works out to be worse than UK prices, I believe.

Figuring in the overseas pricing premium plus shipping and the on sale letterpress cost around the regular UK price. While on the used market the Letterpress Shakespeare go for substantial discounts. Though I love these books (I own 23) I'll Pass.

>5 kdweber: same here. I bought two in the last sale; now only three of those left are editions I don't have. I'm not sure I'm enough of a completionist to want a limited edition of Two Gentlemen or Merry Wives, and £200 feels a bit too much for Tempest. At £150 I would have bought.

For anyone who happens to be tempted, I have a new book video taking a closer look at the Letterpress Shakespeare: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aEXI3FRytso

Excellent video, both technically and for its very informative content. It makes a very good reference to the series. Thank you.

>7 ubiquitousuk: Thank you for the informative video. One note: the books are actually half-bound in goatskin, not quarter-bound, as the corners are covered in leather in addition to the spine.

>13 ultrarightist: yes, I realised that afterwards and put a correction in the description .. still a bit annoying because i knew it was wrong but didn't spot the mistake either when scripting the video, recording the audio, or editing the thing together.

May I ask if anyone ordered Letterpress Shakespeare books in the slipcases rather than the clamshell boxes? If so did the commentary volumes automatically come with the plays, or were they only given when the plays were bought in the box?
Many thanks to anyone who can help.

I can't say from personal experience, Mark, but have a rather strong recollection that the slipcase versions came without the Oxford commentaries. I tried unsuccessfully to confirm this by the literature on the wiki; you may have more luck.
