Best Illustrated Edition?

Please don't throw stones at me, but I am actually trying to locate not the best version of the Arthurian legends---I have many---but an edition with the best illustrations. I am looking for a copy to read with my young son, who has not yet had any point of reference for visualizing the tales. Pyle's illustrations in his version are nice, but I would prefer something in color if possible. The Pyle illustrations get the era "right," I think: depictions set in the 11th through 13th centuries would be best. (Historically anachronistic, yes, but less so than pictures of men at arms in full plate.)

What do people here suggest?
