What 1001 books are you reading this month to round out the first quarter of the year?

I've just finished Alberta and Jacob and will be starting The Big Money or News from Nowhere next.

I just finished (and loved) Get Shorty by Elmore Leonard. Continuing on with The Water Margin and will be soon starting The Drowned World.

Almost finished with Clear Horizon, the third novel in Pilgrimage 4 - looks like I will finally put to bed this humongous 1001 work this month!

Enjoying Shirley, and will likely finish before end of month and pick up David Copperfield.

>2 ELiz_M: What did you think of Alberta and Jacob? I was fascinated by that book. Read it years ago but somehow I can't stop thinking about it, the cold, the isolation.

For this month, I'm reading Sometimes a Great Notion, another hefty group read. Pretty sure it will take me all month!

I'm a couple of chapters into The Water Margin, which I'm really enjoying. Hoping to get to Sometimes a Great Notion this month.

I've been sick in bed for the last two weeks with the flu so I've read (mostly listened to, actually) lots of books. I have seven or eight ongoing books - it's been hard to concentrate on just one, so switching around has helped. Fingersmith, The Master of Petersburg, Winter are some that I'm into right now.
I'll start in on the monthly group read next week, when I go back to work.

Finally! Finished Pilgrimage!!! I wonder how many other 1001 books will take me this long to get through...

I'm planning on reading The Garden of the Finzi-Continis for the March challenge, if I can find it... I know it's around here some place, I just don't think I shelved it in its proper place yet.

Congratulations on finishing Pigrimage LisaMorr! I finished the first volume last year but have not been up to starting the next.

>10 BentleyMay: Thank you! When I finished Pilgrimage 3 in December, I knew I had to immediately jump into Pilgrimage 4, or I'm sure I would've taken a loooong break from it!

I've finished News from Nowhere and have a bunch of non-list books on the go (one of which is 1000+ pages).

I'm starting The Golden Notebook with a three month group read in the Category Challenge. Anyone interested?

I just finished Ferdydurke by Witold Gombrowicz. I could make very little sense of it!
