How to correct and combine

How do I correct the author's name here to Gretchen McCullough and then combine it with Because Internet? (The different subtitles reflect UK vs US editions.)

You can technically fix the author name by forcing a new primary author in the Other Authors section but that will disconnect the book from the author for the user and as such is really not a good idea - especially because you can combine without it.

Look on the right side of the work page and locate "Add work to workbench". Click on it. Do the same with the other work you want to combine with it. :) Then combine this way.

>2 AnnieMod: Yes, going via the workbench worked. Thank you. I never knew what the workbench was for, and now i do :-)

>4 Collectorator:

It works for what it was built for - to allow combinations which do not have an easy way to be triggered otherwise. So what exactly are you complaining about and why did you think it was needed to complain here about it?

Yep, I use the workbench a lot, it's really useful. What does it not do that you want it to do?

Workbench. Sometimes I use it every day, and I certainly use it every week.

It could perhaps be better publicized? (Not sure how.) I think even a lot of veterans are unaware or unsure of it.

The workbench is such a great feature. It doesn't feel abandoned in any way to me — I've never tried/wanted to do something with it that I couldn't do. As >8 Crypto-Willobie: says perhaps it could be better publicized but I am also not sure how you would do that.

I'm OK with the workbench not being super-well-publicized or visible. Since it allows combination of arbitrary works it's just as well that inexperienced users aren't directed to it easily. (I mean, the 200-copy limit does provide some check on that sort of thing, but it's still enough of an edge case that I'm okay with it not being trivial to do.)

>10 lorax: That's certainly a good point. It's awfully easy to accidentally create a huge mess if you don't fully understand what you're doing. Perhaps someday if the workbench could come with *much* more explicit directions on how to use it, it could be more widely disseminated, but I agree it shouldn't necessarily be a priority for developers to do that.

I am thankful to have run across the 'workbench' feature for the first time today. I agree with the comments here... I'm actually happy not to have known about it until I had some experience with the site, and ran into a specific problem I needed it for - which I then found the solution for by searching.
