Hello everyone! I’m excited to be among fellow readers😀. I’m new to Library Thing, but eager to plug in to all the great features made for bibliophiles like me! My odd title actually refers to my annual spiritual “word” derived from a spiritual personality quiz I took online. It’s something I’ve been doing the last few years after my church challenged us to find out what the Lord sends our way to meditate on for the year. Honestly, the years have gone by in a blur, and although they have framed my focus for activities and interactions, none of them have struck me as much as my current word. As per usual, I’ve determined to incorporate my word into all my routines - music playlists, bible studies, movie themes, and of course, books I read. While not ALL of those things will have the word directly, or be the ONLY things I immerse myself in, I do want to encourage myself to at least have monthly if not weekly exposure to STAND (and its derivatives) in some way.

I kick-started 2020 with a read I had kept on my radar for a few years - Sun Stand Still by (Pastor) Steven Furtick. Let me just say, the book was a game-changer for me! And it’s really set the tone for my year in all the right ways, helping me strive to accomplish a number of things I wanted to do. I’ve got a few other books in my stash I’ve been passively reading with no end in sight🙄, but I certainly have others I’m sure I will finish before the end of this month itself.

What I look for in books is sooooo varied. I enjoy genres of all kinds, except horror or science fiction. I enjoy reading as well as writing historical fiction, inspirational romance, and Christian living, and am inspired my classic literature, biographies, mysteries, and suspense. Traveling the world is something I did in part when I was growing up, and my family is quite diverse in that we are spread out around the globe, so learning about different locales and culture is one of my hobbies, which led to my other hobby of genealogy research. It amazes me where I end up gaining book title recommendations or inspirations, and what new interests emerge all based on the digital world we have at our fingertips. Some days, I do binge watch programs and movies on YouTube, Netflix, and Hulu and other services, but in the end, they always lead me back to even more books I want to read. Funny how that works!

Finding tasty recipes to try, following knitting patterns, and cleaning hacks are all also interests I explore on the regular. So you’ll probably find some crazy book recommendations from me - so beware!!! 😁

I look forward to a great year and making some new friends!

Don't you think you would be better off on the 2020 group than the 2012 group?
