Which authors should kick off 2020? Nominate them below!

Reminder: Any author already discussed in the past 2 years is not eligible to be re-upped yet. (You can find the list here: https://wiki.librarything.com/index.php/Monthly_Author_Reads)

Don't forget to second (or third, or fourth) others people's nominations. The top 3 authors will be our January-February-March reads.

Kindly get all your nominations and votes in by December 1st so that we may begin procuring our new year books.

Thank you!

I'll throw some names into the contenders' ring:

E.M. Forster
J.M. Coetzee
Raymond Chandler
Thomas Hardy

My list is male-heavy, so feel free to nominate some female authors to even things out a bit! :)

I'll nominate (again)
Jane Gardam

Here are a couple more ... "lighter" reads but very popular with book clubs
Jojo Moyes
Adriana Trigiani

I would second E.M. Forster and Jane Gardam.

How about Julia Alvarez?

Oh, excellent. I was hemming and hawing about choosing the next set of authors because there wasn't much consensus here but now there is! I will start making new threads shortly. Sorry about the delay.

So our next 3-month lineup is:

Jan: Julia Alvarez
Feb: Jane Gardam
Mar: E.M. Forster

If there's any author you'd like to nominate (or re-nominate if they didn't make the cut this time), there is a new thread for that here: https://www.librarything.com/topic/315002

P.S. Links in the last message go to new group threads for discussing those authors (NOT a link to their author page here on LT).
