I am wondering if anyone has figured out a way to track internal circulation in TinyCat? As in, a book was taken off of the shelf and looked at, but not actually checked out. We want to be able to track book uses like this.
My original solution was to make an "Internal Circulation" status on the check in/out page, but then I realized that the book then displayed "Internal Circulation" as its status unless I also Returned it.
My second idea was creating a patron called Internal Circulation, but that has the same issue of needing to both check out and check in the book.
So I am wondering if there is a good solution that doesn't involve two actions every time I want to count a book as internal circulation in TinyCat?
Thanks!

Unfortunately, if you want to mark a special "lending" status to your book/s that are getting used internally, there's no way to do this without also having to mark the book as "Available" again (either through marking the book as "Returned" or simply re-applying the "Available" status to the book) after being used. If that's what you're looking for.

If you just want to make sure the "Check out" and/or "Place hold" buttons are still available for books marked "Internal Circulation", you'll want to make sure you set it to "Mark as available" when you create the custom status. I hope this helps.

Let me know if you have further questions about this!

Thank you! That's what I thought, but was hoping someone had found a workaround.
