Was Evi right not to release the names of those alleging rape even if they were now dead and might be murder victims?

Yes and no. I don't know about British law but in the U.S. the law makes no exceptions for individual's privacy rather they are living or dead. She could have lost her licence to practice. On another note...she knew that Lacey/Laura was police and it seems that she could have done more than she did. I believe Evi will eventually have to give Lacey that information seeing as how they are running out of options.

I personally think if the subject is deceased and the information can help in an investigation, then the details could be made available. In this particular case it would be of benefit because the deceased would be proved innocent of suicide. Their murders might then be avenged by the capture and imprisonment of those responsible for the deaths.
In some way I think it might even lead to the ease of pain of the victims' families, knowing their loved ones had not killed themselves.

I think she has to abide by the rules in place for her profession. I can see why she would want to give that information to Lacey but I also know that the same information in the wrong hands could be a bad thing.

I agree with Lynda too.

I agree with >4 Olivermagnus: but I did think there was more leniency with privacy if the person was dead or a murder was involved. But I could be wrong.

Unfortunately she was supporting the laws of the land. These laws don’t always help but data protection laws are so tight now. This hinders possible protection of future victims.

>8 Andrew-theQM: In this case, it's also hindering the truth from coming out.
