A WorkID incorrectly has two completely different books

I have a book called "Dope, Inc. : Britain's opium war against the world", published in 2010, and another book called "Dope, Inc. : Boston bankers and Soviet commissars", published in 1986. They are two completely different books with completely different content. The "Dope, Inc" is more like a series title than a book title.

Who do I contact to get them each unique WorkIDs?

On the "Editions" page you can separate out books that don't belong to the work: https://www.librarything.com/work/2006949/editions Make sure you combine together anything that goes together once you do this.

The Combiners! group is a resource for stuff like this: https://www.librarything.com/groups/combiners There's a thread where you can request fixes be made if you don't know how to make them yourself.

The reason these were incorrectly combined in the first place is because the autocombiner ignores everything following a colon. (It assumes it's a subtitle indicator.) This works most of the time, but in cases like this means you'll need to separate them out. It's really simple to do, but as Stevil2001 says you can always ask in the Combiners group as well - anyone on LT can do this, it doesn't require special powers.

I see four different subtitles there.

Boston Bankers are now at http://www.librarything.com/work/22785552.

It looks like Britain's Opium War Against the World is a major update (2010). Now at http://www.librarything.com/work/22785593/editions.

I suspect that the other two are the same.

War against the US is 1978
Kissinger is 1986 and 1992, 3rd edition,
but I don't see anything saying how different they are.
These are still at http://www.librarything.com/work/2006949

The last two are probably different, just because I don't think Kissinger was that big of deal back in 1978, so they probably didn't have a whole book about him.

Anyway, thank you for doing that. I uploaded a correct cover for one of the books, I'll do the other cover later.

>5 margaretbartley:
He was a pretty big deal before 1978. Kissinger played a dominant role in United States foreign policy between 1969 and 1977. He was U.S. National Security Advisor in 1969 and became U.S. Secretary of State in 1973. He played a key role in the bombing of Cambodia in 1970 but then was co-awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1973.

>6 Crypto-Willobie: Yep, you're right. I remember the Paris Peace Talks. (telling my age, here)
