Hi all, long-time LTer, first-time Litsy member. Whilst looking at a few LT profiles of those who are also on Litsy, I noticed a few members have Litsy listed under Memberships in their LT Profile, above their ER membership.

I was curious, how does one go about adding their Litsy as a Membership in their LT Profile?

I asked one of the LT/Litsy members and they couldn't figure out how it was added either.

Oh, that's neat! My guess is that you've spotted a squeaky new feature that hasn't been released live yet. I'm a member of Litsy, but that membership is not noted in my LT profile and there's no option that I saw in the Settings to enable the association.

In the profiles where you are spotting the Litsy membership listed, by any chance are they profiles belonging to LT employees? For example, I see that the Litsy membership is noted on the profile of member timspalding.

ETA: Hmm, I stumbled on another profile showing the Litsy association and I don't think they're an LT employee. Let's strike out that guess!

This isn't much help, but I see that my Litsy membership is listed on my profile and I don't remember doing that. I remember around the time of the SantaThing book swap, there was a way for Litsy members to link their Litsy account with their LibraryThing account — this is the link to do that: https://www.librarything.com/litsy/linkaccounts.php

If that doesn't work, hopefully someone else will come along with more information.

rosalita - that did the trick! Thank you for sharing the link accounts option.

>4 flying_monkeys: I'm glad it worked for you! I'm sure Tim et al. have plans for more widely publicizing that feature once the holidays have ended. My impression was that it was something they put together quickly in order to make it easier for Litsy folks to participate in SantaThing, but I expect there are a number of ways it could be useful to link Litsy and LT accounts.

>7 gilroy: Ha! Neither can I, so it's a good thing I already linked my accounts.

As rosalita already shared, we enabled linking of Litsy and LibraryThing accounts in November, in large part so Litsy members could participate in SantaThing. Details on that are on the blog: http://blog.librarything.com/main/2018/11/santathing-for-litsy-members/.

For now, SantaThing is the only benefit to linking your Litsy and LT accounts, but we're working on other cool stuff for later release.

>7 gilroy: and >8 rosalita: if you need help resetting your Litsy passwords, you can do that by signing out of the mobile app (go to your profile, and hit the gear icon for Settings in the top corner—sign out button is at the bottom of the settings page). You'll then see the sign in screen again, with the "forgot password" option.

If that doesn't do the trick, email me at litsy@librarything.com and I can help!

Thanks, Loranne!

Thanks for the dets, lorannen

Even if there aren't any benefits per se, I like linking accounts now, in case someone looks at my profile, they'll see I'm on Litsy -- if they want to connect that way too.

>3 rosalita: Is that link still live? All I get is a blank screen.

Or is there another way that I can use to link my accounts?

>13 humouress: I just tried it and I also get a blank screen now. I think your best bet is to email Loranne at the address she provided in >9 lorannen: and see if she can do it manually for you. She also might not realize that the link is no longer working so you'd be doing her a favor there as well.
