Happy New Year!
Back for my 7th year here! Many thanks to drneutron for making it happen.
2019 looks like it will be a good year for reading. Lately I've been enjoying more audiobooks, so I can "read" and work at the same time.
I'm usually very impressed to hear an author read his or her own book. After all, they aren't generally trained voice actors, and an 8-hour recording must take many times that to create. But some of what the author was thinking comes through in the way they emphasize or minimize various words and phrases.
The ability to sync an ebook and an audiobook is another guilty pleasure I discovered in 2018. Owning two different copies of the same book? Oh my. But it lets me immerse myself fully in a book. I listen while I work and drive, and read (on my phone) while waiting in line or during other still moments.
Last year I wrote that I would explore this group and learn more about Library Thing features. I did very little of that, but that leaves plenty of fun to anticipate for 2019 and future years.
