Does anyone here know what is going on with worldswithoutend.com? The site seems to be down - and has been for at least a couple of days now... :-/

The site is up for me, on Chrome, Firefox and Opera.

Looks good for me as well.

What is https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/ telling you when you submit the site: https://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/worldswithoutend.com ?

>2 Petroglyph: >3 AnnieMod: Thanks. I should have tested with other browsers. Turned out to be a cache issue - most likely due to not updating Firefox quick enough.

All good now. Thanks again.

They are load balancing or something, and one of their servers is bad. If you hit that one, it stays in your cache because no update is forced. So only clearing your cache will work. They are aware of it, but no fix as of yet:

I usually use Chrome by that keeps your logon info. I've set Opera to wipe everything when I quit the browser and use that but I have to logon anew each time.

Dave is talking about moving to a new data center if the techs can't fix it.

Thought things had got back to normal after fiddling about with caches and cookies and whatever, got on WWEnd after several weeks of futile attempts for one session, and its once again disappeared. Really annoying, this could turn off a lot of people who like the site. What on earth is wrong? No dont tell me,its all gobbledegook to my old so none tech brain! lol.

>7 dustydigger: I am able to login to WWE by deleting cookies to the site. It's fairly easy to do but is annoying since it has to be done at each visit.

>Okay, so it's not just me. I clear my cache on a regular basis, but not in correlation with visits to WWE. That would explain the on again off again results I've been getting. This started happening to me just after that sweeping new EU privacy law took effect. Can't help wondering if there's a connection.

I have downloaded the Opera browser, and am using it solely for WWEnd. I have to remove all browsing history every time, and have to sign in each time, but thats better than having to clear caches and cookies for the gazillion websites I visit on a regular basis on my normal browser.
I feel so sorry for Dave and the gang on WWEnd,they have worked to make it a brilliant site, this could cause a lot of people to permanently switch off.
They cant seem to find a solution.......
This new privacy thing is a big nuisance. Many sites seem to force you into accepting cookies,no choice or alternatives if you need to get on a site for some reason,so we have more cookies annoying us than we did before, instead of less! lol.

>10 dustydigger: You should not have to remove cookies for all sites. What is your daily-use browser? I use Firefox and, from the WWE error page I...

1. Click the info/security icon at the left end of the address bar, (looks like a circle with lowercase 'i' in it next to a green padlock).
2. Click the right arrow next to 'www.worldswithoutend.com'
3. Click 'More Information.
4. Click the 'Clear Cookies and Site Data' button.
5. Choose the one starting with 'www' and click Remove.
6. Close the Page Info dialog box.
7. Refresh the WWE error page & it should now load - requiring a login each time.

Hope this helps.

>11 ScoLgo: I think that's specific for Firefox, Opera and Chrome don't have that capability.

I know WWE is working hard on version 3.0 but several bugs are going unfixed because of that including the lack of notification when posting to the forums. Posting has dropped considerably since then. I'm worried the site is going to become moribund.

Looks like it's fixed. (Crosses fingers, touches wood etc.)
