I am a library assistant in a healthcare library. One of my side projects in addition to my regular duties is to maintain and promote the library's small collection of fiction books. Does anyone have any suggestions on ways to promote fiction books to users of a healthcare library?

I'm not a librarian, but one of the things my local library has is a "recommended by staff" display area. That makes the books more prominent, so you could try something like that.

Are your library users: patients of your healthcare facility, or employees, or researchers? (or all of the above)

If they are patients, are they residents (either temporarily or permanently), or are they out-patient?

Knowing who your main users are would definitely help. I've spent a pile of time in heath care facilities so I could add suggestions as a patient. Do these books circulate or are the more read-on-site?

Thanks for this input, I particularly like the "recommended by staff" idea. The users of the library are primarily the employees of the hospital where the library is located - doctors, nurses, porters, admin staff etc. Very few patients visit or are even aware of the library. The fiction collection is available for circulation.
