Boy, this is a tome! I'm in the process of reading. Kindle ereader said it was 47 hours to read! I've got 27 to go! Anybody else read The Forsyte Saga?

Yes, it's wonderful, a really interesting evocation of the rise of the upper middle class in England. There's no need, of course, to read all the books in one go.
I find it odd that Kindle says it's "47 hours to read". Surely how long it takes depends on the person reading it.
(Of course, it's not "18th-19th Century", but 19th-20th.)

> 1 Yes, you are correct, 19-20th century...don't know what I was thinking...well yes, I do....was thinking Boer War (1898-1902) and just put down 18-19th centuries! The Kindle app gives times for the "average" reader and then after you've read a few chapters it adjusts for your reading speed. I consider myself a fast reader so I should finish a few hours ahead of that.
