I'm a new member here, and a devoted Outlander fan. They are my favorite books. I've read them many times, and now I just listen to them (unabridged) in my car while commuting to work, I have all the CD's for all 6 books and just keep listening to them in one big loop over and over until the next book comes out.

Speaking of next book, so what are all your thoughts about the graphic novel DG will be writing of Outlander from Murtagh's point of view? I'm not into graphic novels (I've never even seen one!) but I do like the idea that we get to see his point of view of the story, especially since he's the one who first discovers Claire with Black Jack Randall!

I had not heard about her writing a graphic novel based on the Outlander books. Personally, I am not all that interested in it, simply because there is no way a graphic novel can capture the magic of the Outlander books unless it is something like 1000 pages long, and even then I am not sure! I would not mind seeing Murtagh's point of view, but I just don't know that the sheer emotion of the books will come across in this format.

I would certainly rather she worked on the final Outlander book!

I wish she would just work on the next book as well! (she says it will not be the final one). I like the Lord John books, but I feel like they're merely crumbs compared to the real thing, and I agree, there is no way a graphic novel can capture the emotion (but, I don't imagine there will be much emotion from Murtagh's POV - LOL!) of story of Outlander. But it might fill in some gaps, such as what was Murtagh doing so far from Jamie (when he was hurt with a dislocated shoulder) when he first came upon Claire.

I did not realize that this was not going to be the final book in the series - I had heard that it would be. Of course, she has said that at least once before. I am getting very disgruntled about the whole thing! I want to know how she is going to resolve Claire and Jamie staying together forever!!

In her most recent ipodcast she mentions there will be a book 8, because the plans she has going forward in the plotline won't fit in book 7, she says this is always how it happens with her, but I bet Book 8 will probably be the last, I believe she said at one point, she'll bring them all the way up around 1802 or so. She has to at least get them through the war.

I love reading these books so much, though the last two really left me annoyed with how much more can she put everyone through! They're becoming harder and harder to read with all the awful things that happen! But, I'll continue reading no matter what she writes!

'I'll continue reading no matter what she writes!' - I will as well, except probably for the Lord John books. I just plain do not enjoy them.
