Picking up the third book in Tad Williams' Shadowmarch series, Shadowrise. The one that should have concluded his trilogy but spilled over into a fourth, as is usual for this author.

Finished All the Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders. It was a meh kind of book.

Just finished Bound, by Benedict Jacka (can't find a touchstone). Latest in the Alex Verus series. I'm still enjoying them. Very good if you like that kind of supernatural action thriller (e.g., Harry Dresden). But it does have a particularly bad case of end-in-mid-action -- a bit frustrating when one has to wait a year to find out what happens next. I mean, even an ongoing saga is easier when there's some kind of natural pause between books, rather than a cliffhanger.

I just started The Merchant Emperor. It's been a while since I read the last book. Hopefully I haven't forgotten too much.

Finished The Shadow Throne by Django Wexler and added the third book in the series, The Price of Valor, to my reading rotation. I'm really enjoying these books.

11: Along with The Stormlight Archive, Wexler's Shadow Campaigns is my favorite series currently ongoing. Love the action, love the characters. I remember browsing the Goodreads reviews for The Price of Valor and coming across a review that complained the book has "too many female characters." I laughed for days. Shoe, meet other foot.

Currently reading:
The Heart of the Mirage
The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet
The Path of Flames

>12 kceccato: I really didn't expect to like the first book very much when I picked it up as a special on amazon.com, but I figured for two bucks I'd take a chance. Most of the complaints I saw for that book were all military action and no story. And now I've started the third book. I guess I like military action.
