I'm in again for the new years challenge and hope to do better than last year. Last year, I did some good shopping at private or library book sales and therefore added quite a few books to my tbr. Unfortunately I am also wuite a collector and like to buy books just to have them but do not want to read them immediately. I hope that this year I will have more spare time and lust for reading and support this group in reaching our goal!

My goal for 2017 will be a modest 12 ROOTs.
I'll count all books that entered my shelves before January 1st 2017 and which have not been read by me before. No rereads, no library or otherwise borrowed books, no newly acquired books.

welcome back & happy 2017 ROOTing!

After finally updating my TBR lost here on LT I could add 7 titles to my discarded list. So my new status is at 7 out of 12 for the year.

I have just updated my LT account with the books I recently discarded and therefore I saw that I discarded quite a few books.

Recently I was book shopping wuite a lot on book sales of different libraries and therefore added loads of books to the TBR. On second glance these books weren't so readable after all and I discarded them again. All in all I have discarded 17 books this year. As I am counting this as ROOTs as well, I overexceeded my goal of 12! To my shame, I didn't manage a single real ROOT, but read a few of the newly added books.

A book read is a book read and 'ROOT prevention' is now officially a thing, so you're doing fine! ;)
