Thermostat wars! I've been living in institutional air conditionings this week. Dad was wearing TWO sweatshirts and two blankets before maintenance could be bothered to close the AC vent right over his bed.
We're taking him home today. He got so excited they couldn't keep him in bed last night. He was hoping he could drive the ambulance. Once his pain was managed adequately, he has been a delight.
Dad will take some watermelon and I'll have a glass of the fresh squeezed.

>3 2wonderY: sounds like exciting times.
An TBSL author I'm reading a bit of lately, Robert Nathan, currently Road of Ages, but before that The Rancho of the Little Loves...anyone else care for his writing?
That mention of ginger and lemon water has reminded me to go drink some that I made with Meyer lemons, which I've never had before, actually.

>3 2wonderY: Pain management is SO important. "he has been a delight" - warms my heart. So wonderful that you are there and are able to detach enough from the stress of the situation and notice enjoy just how very delightful he is.
>4 SaintSunniva: How was the Meyer lemon water?
I went walking this morning while the A/C in my car was being worked on. It was lovely - fairly cool temperature and a nice breeze. I'll be spending a few days without air conditioning in the buildings I'll be in this coming weekend- especially for sleeping. This makes this cooling trend, however temporary, is very welcome. The lovely breeze did not persuade me to put off the A/C repair for the car - it IS August - high summer in the Northern Hemisphere.
