I've just been posting to a thread on the best books in your library which aren't shared by many other LT-ers, and I was shocked how few people had copies of I didn't do it for you by Michela Wrong. The book is about Eritrea's modern history, but it illuminates so much about how colonialism, the Cold War, and modern international realpolitik impact on the countries which aren't the ones making the decisions. I highly recommend it (and thought that it might be particularly interesting to members of this group).

Apologies for cross-posting!

Hi, Based on your review I purchased the book. It cost almost nothing. I have been to Ethiopia but not Eritrea.

I would like to endorse Wandering Star's of I didn't do it for you. It is a classic and one of the best books I have read in years. Very well written and thoroughly researched.
