Here's a thread to recommend horror/suspense films worth giving a watch.
Last night I saw 10 Cloverfield Lane. I will not breathe one word about the plot. Only want to say that I found this to be a truly old-fashioned horror flick, in the best sense--very tense, unpredictable, relies on atmosphere more than gore. Recommended you see it before it gets spoiled for you.

In case you missed it somehow, the Netflix original series Stranger Things is a must-see if you like '80s horror movies, Stephen King, Steven Spielberg, John Carpenter, Winona Ryder, or Dungeons and Dragons. Very nostalgic, very well done.

I've seen some people mentioning this recently, but hadn't really heard anything about it. Good to know! :)
