Its just occurred to me that it would be a good thing to suggest LT to my library. I have just sent this message:

I have recently become a member of LibraryThing (www.librarything.com) and, as a member of Norfolk libraries, would like to draw your attention to their service to libraries.

If you are not already aware of this service, the following links will be of interest:

This seems like such a good idea. I might try emailing mine and see what, if any, response I get.

I actually found out about LT through my library! The book group I belong to is library run and one of the librarians who organises the group suggested it would be the sort of site I would love. He was right.

I'd love to know if you get a reply Theo. Did you get one Sara?

I almost joined a f2f book group Grammath but I could never make the timings to the local one. But I did find out about the f2f one I eventually joined from the Penguin site even though it was recorded in the library they said they didn't know about any.

Not from that email :( But I did eventually get a response from my email about LT Local - though they don't seem inclined to take on their page.

I am slowly adding all the Norfolk libraries to Local; currently about halfway through.
