Ragtime in Simla
I'm counting this one for genre bender as it is both a historical novel taking place on India in 1922 and a murder mystery. Cleverly's books are always fun.

BTW, would someone like to pick a book out of my To Read collection for me, please.

I just added my read of Something Fresh by P.G. Wodehouse to the Wiki for a book published in 1915. One more square to go!

Wiedersehen in Lhasa Claire really got on my nerves, but she does have the same name as my grandmother.

>3 MarthaJeanne: How about Letters from Father Christmas? Seems to be an appropriately seasonal read.

>7 MarthaJeanne: Good! :) And it looks like a short book, so you won't be burdened with a huge tome at the end of the year.

I counted Emperor of thorns for the mythical creatures square, since there are trolls necessary for the final victory. And i have a full BINGO with this.

I just finished The Hobbit. I first read this as a 12 or 13 year old. I friend of the family sent it and Fellowship as a Christmas present. We lived in India at the time and it was years before I was able to obtain the rest of the trilogy. I'm counting it for reminding me of my childhood.

The scarecrow of Oz was published in 1915. I don't see any reason to read it again unless it has another big anniversary. This leaves me with just one more square.

Verschollene Städte is a very exciting book about Mayan archaeology, and I could never have read it in Slovakian.

This finishes my fourth Bingo card.

(We don't seem to have a December thread.)
