according to the website ModernNovel , 1 list of 29 novels are offered.
I have only read 4 of them:

Savage Detectives
7 Madmen
100 Years of Solitude
On Heroes and Tombs

of the 29 I've read:

Roberto Arlt--The Seven Madmen
Miguel Angel Asturias--El Senor Presidente
Mariano Azuela--The Underdogs
Roberto Bolano--The Savage Detectives
Maria Luisa Bombal--The Shrouded Woman
Fernando del Paso--Palinuro of Mexico
Jose Donoso--The Obscene Bird of Night
Carlos Fuentes--The Death of Artemio Cruz
Gabriel Garcia Marquez--100 Years of Solitude
Augusto Roa Bastos--I the Supreme
Juan Rulfo--Pedro Paramo
Ernesto Sabato---On Heroes and Tombs
Luisa Valenzuela--The Lizard's Tail
Mario Vargas Llosa--Conversation in the Cathedral

I've also read works by Reinaldo Arenas, Mario Benedetti, Alfredo Bryce Enchenique and Clarice Lispector--just not the ones mentioned in the article.

My four favorites from above would be Arlt, Bolano, Vargas Llosa and Sabato.

It's a good list to work from and I've got maybe a few other writers to look up. Good find.

Great list. I really want to get around to reading The Obscene Bird of Night and Palinuro of Mexico.
