Hi, I'm new here and I really need your help.
There is a book that I have been searching for quite a while now but I cant fint it. I don't remember the title or the author.
I read this book a couple of years ago so it falls in the contemporary romance.
The heroine of the book is in high school when one night she and her boyfriend (named Kyle or something) go out to a cabin. He proposes to her and then he dies by a falling branch. The girl is left broken. She meets her deceased boyfriend's older brother (the hero) and there is some connection there.
The girl moves away to New York for college where she meets the hero again. They are both very much into music and guitars. The hero then helps her get over his brothers death. She also has a miscarriage.
That's all I can remember. If anyone of you could please help.
Thank you.

Hi everyone, I am new here, I wanted to ask about a book, the problem is, I had only read the synopsis of that book, and that too I don't remember it properly.
The gist of the story is, A women has to marry a man, but the women doesn't think much of her would be husband as he is an aristocrat and very laid back type of person, whereas the women is a warrior women. but the synopsis also hints that the Man may not be what he seems and probably is s secret agent or a spy for the queen or the government. The Book is set in Victorian era or before it.

I know this is not much help to go on, but would appreciate your help.

I started reading this book in the late 80s and had only read a few chapters when my mother "accidentally" threw it away. I remember it was set on a plantation in the South. The heroine's name was Penelope. She may have had older brothers. And I remember is was a bit headstrong and independent.

This book has haunted me ever since. Please help!

Hi everyone. I actually just joined this site in hopes that one of you could help me with my search for a book that I read as a sample at the back of a novella in 2008-2009.
The story is around a woman who is either trained because she is an assassin or a hunter. She does kill people either way!
Her name is a play on Little Red Riding Hood. Possibly Red, Ruby, Scarlet, Hood, etc.
The story takes place quite a long time ago I'm assuming in the 1800s.
The only detail that I really remember is that the main character has to go to a village to save some werewolves that are locked in a cage. She doesn't seem like she is 100% comfortable with the werewolves but she knows they won't (can't?) hurt her.
I'm sorry if this isn't a lot of information to go off of but I hope to be hearing from someone soon.
Thank you!

I cant remember the title from this book its about a girl who is in high school and does a bunch of pranks on her teacher. She won a trip somewhere for vacation so she went, when she arrived there, her luggage never came through so she left to her hotel she was suppose to stay and when she entered it was anything but luxurious as they told her. So she went to go shopping for some clothes when she saw a group of girls walking in a gate and she thought it was a mall so she went to but then the fate closed and then gentlemen in suits told the ladies that they were to meet the prince but they would have to drug them and take them there and that's when the girl started to freak out because she didn't know what was going on and so she tried to escape but they drugged her and she fell. When she woke up she saw she was in a bed and as she looked at her surroundings it was a very luxurious place. In the meanwhile the prince was having a talk with I think his father saying he doesn't want to chose a princess to be his wife. And so the prince send escorts to each princess to escort them to the dining room and he ordered them to flirt with the princesses and if they flirt back they will be dismissed. And so when the escort cane to go get the girl and tried flirting with her she kicked his butt and explained to him that she doesn't belong here and she was mistaken as being a princess. And so they went to the dining room. She tried to be disgusting so the prince wouldn't choose her but instead he falls in love with her. That's all I can remember oh and the girl has 2 best friends 1 is a girl and the other is a guy who is gay

I'm new to the site, and i was wondering if anyone could help me find this book. I've search everywhere but cannot locate it.

I believe it's set in medieval times.

I remember the heroine in the first part watching her little sibling play outside. Then a scene with the family talking to a servant of a wealthy person, can't remember if it's a duke or what. But her relationship with her father was strained, her stepmother was greedy, her stepbrother was lechourous, and her step sister thought she was the prettiest thing around, ends up trying to seduce the heroines husband and fails. The husband wants a homely wide to take care of his children, doesn't want anymore, and finds it hard to resist the heroine. The children are trying to be mean at first but she ends up being on they're side and starts a war between them and the husband.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks for your time.

9> Not sure about her family, but the rest of it sounds like Charming the Prince by Teresa Medeiros: https://www.librarything.com/work/77851/descriptions The hero sends his steward to find him an unattractive bride and marry her by proxy. The steward sees the heroine in a field with a bunch of her siblings and thinks she's fat and homely, but it turns out her apron was filled with apples and she's really attractive.

Even if that's not the right book, I'd recommend it. It was so funny!

Hello all I am new to this so here goes:

I am looking for a contemporary romance novel that involves a (doctor, I think) whose wife and child/ren were killed in a car accident and he remarried (a nurse that worked in the same hospital, I think) but he did not want to have any more children. She gets sick and falls pregnant after a night of passion once she recovered and he still does not want anything to do with her pregnancy or baby. I have been looking for this book for years please help!

Several years ago I read a contemporary romance book. It is driving me crazy that I can't remember the title, author, cover, or characters' names. I do remember a rough outline of the plot and have included as much detail as I remember.

In it the hero and heroine were dating in highschool and/or early college. She goes to a party. She is raped (may or may not be drunk at the time) by the hero's close/best friend (maybe frat brother). The hero walks in and sees it. He leaves because he thinks she is cheating on him. (He may or may not have been planning to propose) Heroine doesn't go to the police because she thinks they won't believe her because her boyfriend doesn't.

She kind of gets a reputation for sleeping around/ being easy/ being a slut because she has such low self-esteem she thinks that's all she's good for. She eventually gets help/sees a therapist. She is trying to change her life/ recover from the rape. Learn the difference between sex and intimacy.

Years later she is back in town (or maybe Vegas?) for a wedding (I think? Maybe her sister's wedding) And her ex-boyfriend is in the wedding party? They meet again/ are thrown together. Both hate each other for what happened but eventually fall back in love. I think they get back together and she eventually trust him enough to tell him the truth. He believes her this time.

I feel like as far as structure of the book goes that the story starts at the years later part and reveals what happened in the past.

You would think with all this info I would be able to find it but no luck. Google has failed me. My best friend who is a romance novel connoisseur (and the most likely person to have lent me the book) has just the vaguest recollection of the book but considering she owns thousands of books I'm not holding my breath that she will locate it.

Does this book exist? Did I make it up? Am I jumbling multiple stories into one?

Please help.

Hey everyone... Could please someone help me in finding a mills and boon novel about a millionaire nicknamed the Hawk. He is in his mid to late thirties. He falls in love with a friend of his son. I don't remember her name but she is a supermodel who lives a very reclusive life. He courts her and they start to develop a relationship and he then discovers that she blames him for her father's death. Her father committed suicide and she was hiding in the room.

I read this book years ago when I was in high school (1990's). I have been trying to find it but I not much luck with the limited amount of info I have. Help please!!!!

Plot- she is kidnapped and held in Mexico (I think). Her father is a senator (or some other powerful position). She is rescued by mercaneries and brought to a ranch (Colorado or Montana I think) to recover. The ranch is run by the man who saved her (handed down by his father who ran it before him). The group of mercaneries are ex police/military and at one point in the series they go off to teach the police in the area. The rescued girl can't go home because they can't figure out why she is kidnapped, it appears her father has something to do with it. She eventually falls in love with her rescuer. In one of the books she leaves the ranch and lives in town nearby, working in a restaurant. Eventually they get together and she marries him and moves back in. I remember them rescuing a boy at one point and the heroine in the story helps him with stories of how she is kidnapped and having him help her cook. I remember the hero getting hurt in another rescue in a different part of the book.

The books were published 2014/2015 if I'm remembering correctly.

Please help! Not knowing is killing me!

I am very happy to see this group and I am hoping you can help me. This book was either from the late 70's or in the 1980's. It was about 2 sisters. One was blonde and led a different life from her sister who had raven hair and was a pirate Captain. It takes place either in the 1600's or the 1700's I believe. The sister that is the pirate comes to care for her younger sister who is in love with a man, but there is anger and I believe the sister that is a pirate dies.

If this rings any bells for anyone that would be a miracle in itself and if anyone knows the book that would be unreal. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you! :)

It is not the books with Regan and Sirena btw.

Hi everyone. I want to find this book I once saw in the library some 5 years ago, can't remember the title only the synopsis.

It was set in the Americas where the heroine was a slave or a prisoner of some sort of the Native Americans. (Anyways I think she was captured at a young age because she didn't know a word of English. Maybe) The hero bought her and then he married her. He consummated the marriage and took her to England and brought her in front of his father as a way of exacting revenge by not marrying someone of noble blood. And then he left England, meanwhile the hero's father took pity and trained his daughter in law on the ways of being a lady. The hero then returns some 5-6 years later and finds a different women i the form of his wife and he also ones out that he has twins.

If anyone has any idea about this book please do let me know. :)

As she becomes more and more part of the community she falls in love with her husband. But Thrn one of her brothers is caught (I think because they were attempting to save her) and he faces being hung for his crimes. Hi, I'm looking for a book, written quite some time ago:
The story was about a 15 year old, poor girl with an extremely abusive father and so naive that she still thought babies came out of the sky. The setting is contemporary. The girl and her father lived in a house that was owned by the hero's family (ultra handsome, ultra rich, really spoiled guy). So the hero was 25 at that time.
The h is off to take her bath in a lake that is near her house. This is where the hero sees her. Their interlude begins etc.

I really, really want to read this one...

Hi, please I've been looking for this book for a couple of years now. It is a contemporary romance novel. I read it a long time ago but have no idea who wrote the book or what the characters name are. I originally got it as a free book on Kindle.

It's about a year rich heiress who persuades her male friend to become the star of a reality dating show in which she is somehow involve in (maybe produces?) By chance, she is forced to become a contestant on the show. I believe the guy already had a crush on her. She goes on to being in the final two with another woman who is nice and has a daughter but is still with her ex-boyfriend. The guy ends up choosing her and proposes to her and she accepts on autopilot because she believes she was his only choice since the other girls were useless. But the guy had actually fallen in love with her. But then I think that she gets kidnapped after they get off the show.

But then the novel has a HEA.
(It's possible that the girl might have been a redhead)

Any ideas or suggestions will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hello! I'm hoping some of you wonderful people might recognize what little I remember about this book. It's set in medieval/Crusades type era. The heroine is running from someone and in a marketplace or bazaar type place runs into a man who protects her. I think one them claims they are married and the other goes along with it, which I think made it legal and binding.

He is of mixed blood and there is frequent mention of his "golden skin". He thinks she is repulsed by his heritage, but of course she's not. I can't remember if she's just wealthy or if she has some type of royal heritage. I'm pretty sure the word Dragon is in the title, but I could be wrong.

I seem to remember a scene where he's facing off with the bad buys and there's a comment that his blades are covering his heart, making it unlikely that they could do more than injure him. I know, weird thing to retain, right?

Anyway, if this sounds familiar to anyone, I would greatly appreciate an author or title. Happy hunting! :)

He and the girl end up in a hunting lodge and she is sick and he basically tricks her into marrying him. They end up falling in love... Pretty Sure It Is Set In England

I need help finding this book I JUST read. Google has not been of help so far. My library account has no record of it for some reason and it is DRIVING ME CRAZY! Please help!
A pair of friends work on investigating the murders of several prostitutes from bawdy houses in historical Britain. The woman's name is Sophie or Sophia and she dresses up like a man to be able to investigate these matters. The man is injured in the beginning of the book by a gunshot wound that renders it difficult for him to leave the house. Together they find out who the murderer is (I remember but don't want to spoil it for others, let me know if sharing it would be helpful for figuring out the book) and also help him to be able to leave the house. I think it was the third book in a series as there were references to characters that seem like a recollection rather than being introduced as completely new.
Thanks in advance!

Hi!
Looking for a book I read years ago that somehow was lost in a move.
Historical romance, set during the Napoleon wars. In the beginning of the book the heroine lives in London and has lent books from a library and is walking home. A man almost runs her over and she drops her books and herself in the mud. She lives with her brother and they are quite "poor" (but doesn't have to work) and she redesigns one of her old evening gown to go to a ball where she meets the man again and they flirt. She moves with the army to Brussels (I think? :S).. Does anybody recognize it? I think it was quite old, had a dark blue/lilac cover. It was very PG rated. Please help!

Highlander romance.
Starts off with heroine getting measured for her wedding with a man she hasn't even met yet. Her cruel cousins taunt her, saying no man would want a cow. Feeling hurt and ashamed she tells her hand maiden to make her dress much smaller than it actually needs to be because she plans on losing all this weight before her husband-to-be shows up. On the day of the wedding, lo and behold, she is not small enough to fit in her wedding dress. Her mother comes up with the idea to fit her in a corset to make her fit in her dress. It's way too tight of course and she ends up fainting when she walks down the aisle. Later after she is roused and they are wed, during the celebration, her dress literally rips at the seams, of course to the taunting of her cousins and her complete and utter humiliation. After defending his bride quite harshly, they set off to join his clan. After numerous attempts on her life, without them knowing that someone is trying to kill her, her husband, while quite enamored with her, thinks that she is much too weak to survive as his wife.

I also remember that there was another woman who really wanted to be with the hero and kept trying to sabatage the heroine into looking incompetent, unaware that at the same time, her her own mother is trying to kill the heroine. I don't remember names, but I basically remember the whole plot line, and is driving me freaking crazy. If anyone knows what I'm taking about please let me know.

I am trying to figure out the title and author of these books. They are pretty vague so I am extremely grateful for any help!

1. This is a young adult book, about a girl's toxic relationship with a boy, and then it turns out the boy is a hallucination of hers. I think they would meet up in an abandoned house or something like that, and I think she wrote about him in a diary.

2. This is a new adult book. I think the guy and girl characters are roommates or neighbors and close friends, she sleeps in his bed often, but there is nothing overtly sexual between them yet. But there is an attraction. She starts masturbating one night in bed and he wakes up and says something like "You can't do that when you're lying next to me." This could be from books like Roomies by Lindy Zart, Beautiful Disaster, or maybe a Penelope Douglas book.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a trilogy I'd read years ago. The genre is paranormal.

In the first book the female main character was caught cheating at the male main character's casino. The female has the power to predict any numbers and the male controls fire. The female doesn't know anything about her kind because she was abandoned or something along those lines. They end up being mates. Their in some danger of something.

The second book is about his brother who controls lightning. His mate is runs some kind of trinket shop with her mother. The mom believes in supernatural thing while she doesn't. The danger is the same the first book.

And the third is about their sister who is telepathic. She is in their home realm. I believe the siblings are some type of royalty there.

i all,

I'm still on the hunt for a book or a duology I read, like 2 years ago about these two sisters.

The first book is about the younger sister falling in love with her older sisters' love interest. The guy really didn't like the older sister, but they still have to keep the relationship.

The second book is about the older sister where she feels betrayed after finding her sister's relationship with the guy and she also fell in love with some other guy..

I think it was set in a small town where the sisters' and the guys' mothers are friends.
I also remember that the younger sister and the guy was caught by the older sister at kitchen counter.??

Thank you!! :)

Hi everyone I found you while searching for a book title that I read a while ago and lost and I really want to read it again if you guys could help that would be awesome! I didn't even know this site exsisted but I am so happy I found it!

Okay so here is what I remember,

This is a harlequin romance it had the white front and the red band on top, the main character was a single mom to a daughter (I believe her daughters name was chloe) she had just moved back home to the house that she had rented out while she lived in I believe Australia. The father of her daughter was abusive and died in a car crash I believe his name was sean/shawn so she moves back home and applies for a job as a typewriter but they look at her resume and hire her for a personal assistant opening to the CEO who just happens to be her daughter's uncle and twin brother of her ex. She tries to keep her daughter a secret from him, she tries to quit but really needs the money so she stays. He finds out that she dreams of renovating her house and tells her about the company discount for employees and he decides to help her with it even though she doesn't want him too then he accidently meets her daughter who mistakes him for his brother and runs scared from the room then he demands an explanation and she explains to him.

I don't remember what else happens it has been coming back to me in snippets for years and driving me crazy because I loved that book if anyone's knows I would be really grateful I can't find it anywhere!

Hi! So I'm looking for a contemporary romance book I read a couple of years ago. The heroine desperately wanted to have a kid and name him/her Alex or Alexa (I think) and prepares to find a sperm donor. She divorced her cop husband because he was immature and didn't want kids and bought an old house that was recently remodeled.

Her ex moved into the old, trashed house next door and planned to win her back. He tried to show her he was serious about wanting to be with her and that he'd grown up. He sold his nice car to another cop and bought a minivan or SUV. He was then targeted by drug dealers? and the car he had sold was blown up, killing the coworker who had bought it.

The heroine ends up sleeping with the hero, falls back in love with him, and ends up pregnant. The last scene is the heroine, hero, and very young daughter (Sadie?) at Christmas a year or two later where the heroine reveals she's pregnant again and knows the hero will be happy about it since he's a great father.

Every so often I search for this book through what I can remember. I have had no luck. I am hoping that it will ring a heart string with one of you and I can reread this book. The plot is a male country singer that finds himself in a little motel. I don't remember if he is hiding from his public under an assumed name or if he has amnesia. There is a young woman who cleans the rooms of the motel. They develop a friendship and love. Eventually he returns to his career and the stage only now she has disappeared, until that fateful concert when he is performing and a sign is held up that says "I named her Rose". This sign is held by the young lady from the motel that had his child. I hope that someone remembers this book. Thank you for looking back into your memories.

Hi, I've been trying to find a contemporary romance I read many years ago about a petite woman who moves to a small town (I think in the mountains) and cuts off her hair to a pixie cut to begin her starting over. I can't remember much else but that I really enjoyed the read. I know it isn't much to go on but if anyone has suggestions I'll appreciate it.

Hello everyone. I'm looking for a book and it seems like a needle in a haystack. It's an older historical romance novel. The heroine is Ellen who is an English nurse. Her father is a missionary and the book is set in China. Maybe Shanghai. Ellen works in the local hospital. She meets an English born man at a party whose name is David. His family is very wealthy and has shipping interests in China. They have a romance. Then, Ellen gets kidnapped by a group of rebels during the Boxer Rebellion (turn of the 20th century) and she disappears with them into the Chinese countryside. She has to nurse men who are doing constant battle and they have a ruthless leader. She is not hurt, but is terrified she will be held captive and killed. David has to mount a rescue when it seems impossible to find her. Yet, he disguises himself as Chinese and searches until he finally finds her. He helps her escaped but she is terrified of being caught again. They sail the Yangtze to escape and have several close calls being discovered since the whole country is at war. They finally make it to safety. In the end, Ellen and David are married. I have no idea who the author is or what the title is. Any help would be amazing. Thanks!

Hi, new member here :) I'm most certainly searching for a Harlequin book. Regency setting, might be under Historical Harlequin though.
Any case, twin sisters. The morally ambiguous one inherits a house from a lover (?). She must go abroad and can't fulfil the terms of the will. She convinces her schoolmistress sister to live in the inherited house for the set amount of time. British countryside.
The neighbour, some sort of lord, becomes suspicious when the courtesan is so sweet mannered. He is possibly related to the man who willed the house.
In one scene the schoolmistress has fallen asleep, in a window seat, and her dress has slipped of her shoulder. Of course, that is when the neighbour visits. She is embarrassed but must act like her sister would.
The sister returns in the end, the ruse is up, and the schoolmistress gets her lord/neighbour.
The book has a blue cover and I’m pretty sure it has the scene with her in the window seat and him coming through the door, fireplace in background.
I read it somewhere between 97 and 07. Any ideas?

Edit: no sooner did I ask than the name Susanna popped into my head. The book is the Virtous Cyprian by Nicola Cornick. Evidently, the book is very easy to find when you have a charactername, even after som 15 odd years searching.
Oh well, it's a good book.

Hi - I have been looking for a romance novel that I read as a teen. It was my mom's, and i think it was written in the 1970s or 1980s. It was set in "olden" times but I'm not sure exactly when. It was about a young woman who is kidnapped in the woods while riding her horse and the man takes her to his castle by the sea, drugs her and rapes her. She doesn't like him but he keeps her there and eventually she falls in love with him. They marry and have a daughter and continue to live in the castle until the woman disappears or dies. Her daughter grows up and tries to figure out what happened to her mother. I am a little fuzzy on the rest of it but I think she figures out that something happened where her father was arguing with her mother in a tower and her mother fell or was pushed out into the sea.

I remember the woman's name being something like "Lynette" and the man who kidnaps her saying that her name means "little bird".

I also remember the cover with a woman standing on a beach in a red or black cape and there is ocean with cliffs and castle behind her

UPDATE - somehow I remembered Victoria Holy and look her up, another of her pseudonyms is Philippe Carr and she wrote this book, it's called "the witch from the sea" and the characters are Linnet Pennlyon and Colum Cassvellyn and they live at Castle Paling. Just in case anyone else is searching!

Hello everyone - I have been trying to locate this book for a while now. I hope you will help me find it. I read it about 12-15 years back - I think it is a Harlequin or Mills & Boon.

the heroine pretends to be two different woman - a model who is not too smart and a researcher/scientist who is rather dowdy (she binds her breasts and wears make up to look shabby). The hero meets the model person first and then the researcher. He falls in love with both of her persona and thinks for 90% of the novel that there are two different woman.

I remember this clearly - he tells his friends that he admires the gracefulness of the researcher and the intelligence of the model which surprises the friend. He finally figures out that they are both the same woman when he ends up sleeping with the model. He gets angry at first but then when he takes a walk (I think on a beach) and ends up sharing his story with a stranger - the guys reminds him that he thought he was in love with two different women and now his problem is solved and he should be happy that they are the same. They live happily ever after

I hope this rings a bell for someone. The titles that have been suggested to me are "Thursday's Child" and "Are you for real?" but they are not it. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I hope someone can help with a historical romance novel I've been searching for with no luck. Heroine gets pregnant at the very beginning by the hero. When she finds out, her sister is the only person she tells. So they come up with a plan and tell their parents they are going to stay with an aunt in the country for awhile (the aunt is the fathers sister). They don't really like this aunt but its the heroines only choice. When they get to the aunts house, the aunt agrees to let them stay. As they get settled in, the aunts nephew shows up and takes an interest in the heroine. The heroine has a dizzy episode and everyone finds out that shes pregnant, the nephew offers to wed her since he likes her, but the heroine refuses because shes in love with the hero. The heroine and aunt get really close and become friends. Heroine finally has baby boy and the sister goes back home. The book goes one year later, the heroine talks with her aunt and decides that its time to go back home and reveal to her parents that they have a grandson. Later, the hero finds out about his son and offers the heroine marriage and the aunt talks her into it, I think. The nephew and hero know each other somehow. Its a series and the nephew gets his own story. I would appreciate all the help! Thanks!

Ok so I’ve been searching for this book for forever!! It’s about a girl that moves with her boyfriend/ fiancé then meets his friend and ends up falling for him even though she is still engaged to the other guy, eventually they end up together but they find out she is pregnant and they aren’t sure who the father is so they are waiting on the paternity results. A detail I remember most is that she has a dream that her boyfriend(ex’s BFF) leaves to go get something and gets in a motorcycle crash then ends up dying and when she wakes up she goes into labor. Anything helps thank you!!!

Edit: I also remember that she doesn’t immediately pick the other guy so he leaves on a vacation to some island or something and she has to get on a plane and find him to tell him she loves him or whatever

Harlequin Presents, sometime in the 2000s.

I don’t remember much about it.

It’s set in the mid-east. The heroine is unsuitable for some reason, possibly because she’s barren? I vaguely remember the hero wanting to put her into the harem, she is possibly insulted and says no. What I do remember is she has left and the hero is devastated, and rings the bell for a harem girl and it’s the heroine who comes to him. There’s also a part, I think, where he pays the harem girls off with jewels because he can’t bring himself to have sex with them.

Hi I'm looking for a book that i started reading in the mid to late 90s. It was about 3 half sisters (same dad, different mothers, dark haired one was illegitimate) in the 1600s that traveled to America to get away from their dad (i think). Youngest had a birthmark on half her chest and most of her neck so she wore high neck dresses so she wouldn't be accused of witchcraft. Oldest was in love with her cousin who traveled with them to America but he was in love with the middle sister (dark haired). It was about all their romances but that's all i read until it got lost. I've been looking for a long time. Anyone know what this book is?

I am looking for a book, either harlequin or mills and boon. He is blackmailing her in some way because she had his child and he didn't know and gets angry. He drags her round the world living in hotels. At first she makes an effort and unpacks all the time and makes it like home but he keeps being angry about the past and doesn't let her have much interaction with the child. After a while she gives up making effort and I can't remember if she leaves but eventually he realises he is being an arse and they live happily ever after

I actually read every post in part 1, taking 3 days! WOW, there are many great reads in there. I have posted elsewhere on this site about this book , but was unable to get the correct book. PLEASE help me if you can.
The book I have been looking for for 20 years is (I think) a Silhouette or Harlequin smaller contemporary novel. Somehow, I think the cover may have been white/light gray. Don't quote me on it. It takes place in America? in the present time. As I remember it, our H and h meet in a hospital parking lot where the h is seeking treatment for her back. It was broken as a teenager in a skiing accident. Her father was training her for the downhill Olympic skiing event and she crashed into a tree. The H is a doctor there at the hospital. They go on a date cross country skiing. The h can still do it even if she has to go at a sedate pace. Her back will not handle undo stress. As they are skiing, they come upon a man having a heart attack. The H stays to help while the h races to help. She does get help, but her back begins to spasm so badly she curls up in the back the the H's station wagon? The next scene I remember, she is in a hotel room? and the H comes in. They end up having sex with the H using his arm to support her back. I read it as a teenager before I started keeping records. I believe it was written before 2000. I have done google search and Library of congress. Over the years, I have searched everywhere I could find, to no avail.
It is not Dancing in the Dark by Sandra Marton or Winners by Danielle Steel.
Thanks for any help you can give me.

I am looking for a Harlequin Novel which I read long long time back.
It was about a recluse hero, who allows heroine to stay at his home when she needed. Later they get married but their happiness is ruined as hero misunderstands that heroine has stolen the money.
Also there was some reference to typewriter which I don't remember.
I remember the end clearly , where the H kicks the heroine out...she realizes later she is pregnant and finally when she is too weak & not able to work she sells the the heirloom ring given by the H .... and that's when H is able to track his girl & the confession

Stumbled on this group when I was trying to find a couple books I read years ago and would love the help in trying to find the titles of them again! I know it's a long shot, but this looks like the right place to find the needle in the haystack :)

Harlequin
Vague plot rundown: she swims onto his private beach. He thinks she is there to harm his little sister. He locks her in a bedroom for a few days and keeps her captive.

Harlequin
Vague plot rundown: she gets struck by a car, I think somewhere in Italy. He helps her while she heals up her sprained ankle. I think she ends up being some kind of dress designer because she makes her own dress for an event and everyone loves it. She ends up having some kind of fashion show and the model for the bridal gown is a no-show, so she has to model it. The hero's sister is the one MC'ing the fashion show, but in Italian, and introduces the heroine (wearing the bridal gown)to everyone as the hero's fiancee. He is angry at the heroine because he thinks she planned it all along.

These are all very vague, but it's all I can remember! Thanks for the help!

Hi all, i'm after a book that I read many years ago, the heroine has had her (black?) hair cut short (as punishment or possibly to enter a convent- can't remember exactly) and is very skinny/malnourished. She marry's a lord (may be Scottish so Laird) who is kind and shocked by her appearance (I remember a bathtub scene where he sees how skinny and mistreated she's been). She is ridiculed at first by the Lord's people who call her ugly but the hero is kind and defends her. I remember the cover being white/pearl and I think the name of it was just one word- the name of the heroine herself.
If you can think of this book pls help, driving me nuts :(

Hello,
I am new to this website and have been trying to find a book I read a while back with no luck. I'm pretty sure it was based in Victorian England, but I can't be 100% on that. It was definitely a Historical Romance though. It was about a young woman who was in love with an older man who I believe was a family friend. She had been trying to entice him for a while, but to no avail because he didn't think he was good enough for her. Her brother was her guardian and I can't remember if he proposed that they get married for her safety or if they are just faking it all around. I know the hero does his best to keep his distance from the heroine even though she does her best to make it a real marriage. I believe they even sleep in the same bed, but with a pillow between them. At one point they get into a fight and he has to chase her out into an alley which leads to a rather intimate act in the snow, but during it he is knocked unconscious and she is kidnapped. I can't remember much beyond that unfortunately. I think it might have had a white cover with a small picture of an estate house or townhome on the front, but yet again I can't be 100% sure on that. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I have been wracking my brain for ages over this.

This is a small town romance. Fairly recent release. The hero is helping/learning the heroine how to be sexually confident to try to make another guy interested in her. The heroine ,I think, is a vetrinarian or a doctor. That is the reason that the hero comes to her when he gets shot in the ass by a friend after a night in the bar. Hero is in construction and is seen as a bad boy.

She hires the ex fiancé of the guy she was interested in to work for her as a receptionist.

The heroine at last finds out that the guy she was interested in is gay.

Hero and heroine fall in love.

The sequel is about the receptionist and the hot new firefighter.

Thank you

Hi! I’ve been trying to find this book forever, but I can’t find it anywhere. The book starts with the heroine and her best friend at boarding school together and the heroine meets the friend’s older brother, the hero, and they start going out. The heroine and hero break up because he thinks that she and her stepbrother have a thing, they don’t. Years later the heroine goes to her friend’s home country, I don’t remember what country but I think it’s a spanish speaking one, to see her friend’s baby, but her friend isn’t there and she gets arrested. The hero has to come bail her out, he’s rich and important, but he still thinks she cheated on him and is mad at her. They have sex and he realizes he wasn’t wrong about the heroine because she was a virgin and wants her back and they eventually end up together.
Thanks!

I am trying to find the author or title of a book from the 80s, possibly early 90s. I don’t remember a lot of the details, but a woman is taken after a relative’s wedding and primed as a choice member of a Harem for a sultan. She eventually escapes. I’m pretty sure she developed feelings for the man who teaches her how to please the sultan. It’s killing me that I can’t remember the name of the book! I want to read it again.

Help! I know this is a fairly mainstream book so why I can't find it for the life of me is killing me ... it is a regency romance. The prologue is the hero's first wife dying in childbirth. He finds out it is not his child because she is calling out that God is punishing her for having cheated. The father is the heros brother. What book is this??

Hello!
I'm looking for a contemporary romance.
The main character is a troubled woman living with two roomates, both who are very judgemental. I remember her not having any money and all she had to eat was a yogurt and one of the roomates ate it and got upset that the heroine was mad at her for questioning the roommate.
One if the roommates was trying to pressure the super religious boyfriend (the hero) into premarital sex, and they later ended up breaking up.
The heroine and the roommates boyfriend (the hero) had become close because he was worried about her not eating and walking everywhere.
I remember it ended with the church offering her a job as an outreach director or something cause she came from a diverse background or something.

Thanks,

Looking for a book I read last year. A baseball player argues with a woman in a bar and then they get fake engaged to help his reputation. She was dating a chef(?) or someone in the reastaurnt business and found out he was cheating with a friend of hers. I think it ended with the baseball player giving the girl a new engagement ring that was more her style than the ring from the fake engagement.

I am looking for the very first historical romance novel I read, was probably written in the 80s.
Probably set in England during the Stuart era.
A man is drugged and tricked into sleeping with the heroine (from the Americas). While he is occupied with her his fiance is stolen away and forced into a marriage. He is then forced to marry the girl he slept with. They start a marriage that starts to show promise but he receives a message from his former fiance asking for help. He goes to help her only to find her dead and be accused of her murder. He runs away to sea and his wife travels home to the colonies, pregnant. He later captures her ship as a pirate and they rekindle the romance and work to clear his name.

A couple of years ago I read a preview for a book at the end of another novel. I'm dying to read this book but can't find it so I am hoping it might sound familiar to someone and they could give me a title or author name.

Basically the book started out with a fire alarm going off in the middle of the night in a large hotel in Australia. The gal, in her haste basically went down to the ground in her revealing lingerie. On the way back up to her room she realizes that she didn't grab her key card and there is a creepy guy hitting on her and making her nervous. Then another guy shows up and plays it off like she is his significant other and they go in his room.

He propositions her, she spends the night with the knowledge this was a one time thing. He only wants the one night and she is getting on a plane to go to Hollywood to star in a movie in the morning. They have their one night together and she leaves.

Flash forward a couple of years she is now a famous starlet and her husband (the director of her first movie) has hired her a bodyguard and it is the guy from her last night in Australia.

If anyone can point me in the right direction to find this book I would be eternally grateful.

Hello! I’ve been looking for the book for years although I have no idea about the author or name. I read it 10+ years ago from my grandmother’s stash of romance novels. So it might have been published 80’s/90’s no later than 2010. More likely earlier than later.
It was a historical romance. What I forsure remember about the book (no doubt): the woman is a fiery redhead who hides away in this mans barn because she’s running away from her father. The two eventually fall in love but not after a lot of stuff happening. The man is very possessive and strong and quite moody/unreasonable. They marry. There is a very steamy scene in the barn either in the hay or loft.

I’m pretty sure (but it’s a little hazy): he had black hair. It was based in Australia or maybe new zealand. There’s a scene where she escapes a locked apartment by a window. Could be Victorian time period? The mans brother is wanted by the law.

The cover I distinctly remember was a paper back pinkish red sides/back, red haired Caucasian woman, her back against the dark haired man. Her eyes are closed and she’s wearing a white under dress (still long but an undergarment) and him with a white opened shirt. It was styled like 80’s romance novels (Virginia hentley...Joanna Lindsey kinda cover art).

I’d appreciate it! Really hoping anyone has a clue :)

I've looked everywhere for this book, now here.

The heroine is either the sister or nanny to a pretty awful woman and her little daughter. They are I think Italy (someplace in Europe) to see the woman's fiancée or bf. He seems to live in a castle or something large that has catacombs. While there, there is a mystery of a far ago murder and the ghost of the angry murdered woman hangs around, invading the body of people around and leaving behind the perfume that the dead woman used to wear.

I am looking for a book I read in the mid to late 1960s when I was just a kid. It was about an inch and a half thick and had a plain blue or black cover, and when I read it, it was already yellowed with age so I have no idea what year it was published. It was about a young woman who was visiting an aunt who lived on the coast, maybe around New York or New Jersey? The town had an annual swimming contest in the ocean, and the prize was a loving cup. There was a mysterious trunk the visiting girl somehow found, belonging to a woman who kept a diary and referred to her fiance as "D". The writer and "D" were kept apart by something, can't remember what. The visiting girl read the diary and becomes engrossed in the story of the young lovers tragically kept apart and wants to find out who the writer is and if she and "D" ever got together. There was also a locket, maybe found in the trunk? The girl convinced her aunt to make the locket the prize for the swimming contest that year. I think the girl intended to enter the swimming contest and win the locket. It seems like there was maybe some kind of sea rescue in the book as well, but I might be mixing it up with another book. In the end, the owner of the trunk and diary is reunited with "D".

If anybody recognizes this book, I would very much appreciate it. It has been bugging me for all these years.

Hi, new member here, I read this book online a few years ago, but I don't remember the name and its driving me crazy:

The book is a medieval romance, which starts with the heroine seeing the the hero swimming in the forest. He's so joyful and beautiful that she falls in love with him from afar. Then they actually meet years later and the guy has been betrayed and is now a cold angsty warrior, and he captures the lady's castle and maybe forces her into an arranged marriage? Also some vassal of his/villian tries to rape the lady in a garden, and the hero stops him.

There may also be something where the woman who betrayed the hero comes to their castle to stir up trouble? Can't remember for sure.

I'm fairly certain that its not a Julie Garwood or Johanna Lindsey book, but I'm not sure. If anyone recognizes it, I'd love to find the name! Thanks everyone!

I have a book stuck in my head for years and have never been able to find it. I only remember the bare bones.

A man is disfigured, I think his face. He is rich and has a live in mistress. He hired an artist to either paint a mural or fix a statue, something with her hands. They start to fall in love and the mistress feels threatened so she tries to mess things up.

Any help would be great.

I’ve been searching and searching and can’t find the name of a book I read. Hopefully someone can help me out.

The book is about a woman who gets a job at a tech company that is about to release a new product when she actually works for the competition. She ends up falling for the boss and brains behind the new tech. Unfortunately she still has to steal it because of money or a promotion. Not sure which. Eventually she steals someone’s phone from the company. It ended up being a fake because the ceo was testing her. He knew she was after information the whole time. They break up and she ends up having sex with another guy she knows from one of the two companies. He made his money hacking into company websites. They have sex in his gym at his penthouse before she decides to find a way into the press event. She gets in and then I think she’s tricked into going to the stairwell where his jealous assistant pushes her down the stairs.

If you think you know what this book is please let me know. It’s been driving me crazy.

Looking for author, title of a romance book that I read in the 80's or early 90's. This book was a Silhouette or a Harlequin type novel. It was about a man who was named Phillip, who was kept drugged in a sanitarium, kept there by his brother. He was ultimately rescued by a woman who realized he was not insane and eventually helped him get his life back. She knew him as Danny, as he had no memory of his life before entering the sanitarium. She took him out and married him in order to prevent him from going back. I think the title may have had the word "Man" in it, but not sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Figured I'd give this a try. So, I read a book, but I can’t for the life of me remember the title or author. I don’t remember much about it other than a father, who I think is in politics, asked his friend if his daughter and grandson can stay with him in I think Montana for a while as she’s divorcing her husband cause he was beating her and it made the news. The friend has a daughter. The two get together while she’s there. At some point they go to Florida to I believe Disney World, she gets black mailed by her ex and leaves. The father’s friend finds her again around Halloween and she is pregnant.

I know it’s not much, but any help would be great.

Thanks

I've also looking for a book for a couple years now. It's a romantic suspense or paranormal suspense about a woman who has visions of a little girl being kidnapped and she finds out at some point that it really happened like 10 years ago she tries to go to the father about but he obviously doesn't believe her. The woman helps find her.
SPOILER

It turns out the little girl was kidnapped by a man who has kidnapped a lot of different girls and plans to marry her, along with the other girls, when she turns 15, which is about the time of the book in the present.

I think she has a little brother.. and it’s romanceP

Hi I am trying to find a book. I am sure it was published in the 2000's.
Its a spoiled woman who's father marries her off to a man who trucks her off to his circus. She starts working and has a rough time, the owner doesn't like her etc. Even the baby elephant gives her a hard time. She pulls through and befriends the tiger and baby elephant. Falls in love with her husband. Falls pregnant etc.

Hi I'm trying to find a contemporary romance I read 5-10 years ago. It's set in Australia primarily in this mansion. I think the mansion is the heroine's family home and her parents died so her parent's family friend (the hero) lives there now? But she decides to go home for the holidays and plans on seducing him (she has always secretly been in love with him and doesn't want him to see her as a little girl/ward any more). I think she invited her gay friend to dinner one night to make the hero jealous. There's a scene involving them opening presents around Christmas as well.

I have been looking for this book for several years! Thank you in advance.

Hi I am new here and I would like help finding the title of a book I read about 16 years ago. The book cover has a man and woman dancing in front of a mansion. It is set in England and the first chapter starts off with the hero finding the heroine walking alone on a highway in the middle of a storm (think the woman escaped from an attempted rape from her stepdad/someone close to her). The guy picks her up and offers her a deal where she takes care of his mansion he is restoring since she has no place to live (Think the guy might have been an architect). Think it's a silhouette house book don't really remember. The title has mansion/towers in it. I really appreciate the help as the suspense as been bugging me for a long time. Thanks.

Hi!! New entry to the group :)
I really wanted help in finding this romance novel. I do not remember the name at all but plot I do somewhat. So the heroine come s to attend her father's funeral along with her other siblings and relatives. She didn't have good a relationship with her father and he was known to be rude.
So all the relatives have decided to sell the ranch and split the money, something that the heroine had agreed to do but after coming back home she starts to have second thoughts. So at the reading of the will she refuses to sell and the vote has to be unanimous. But a clause in her father's will is that only a male relative can inherit the ranch. So inorder to keep the ranch from getting sold she enters a marriage of convenience with the foreman ( i think) and her father's friend.
As the story progresses the heroine finds out that her father did lover her but just didn't know how to show it. And how her mother kept letters from him which increased the distance between them.
Her cousin comes to prove that the heroine's marriage is a sham and if she got married just to stall the sale they can go to court and continue with the sale. So she starts to flirt with hero.
Heroine starts to get jealous and insecurity creeps in and misunderstanding builds.
The story ends with clearing or all doubts and the fake marriage becomes the real thing.

Thanks, that is all I can remember, will love if someone can tell me the name and author of the book. :)

Hello everyone -

I have searched my kindle, googled, and racked my brain for the name of a book. I remember the book is a historical romance published in the last ten years or so. I think it is Victorian or Regent. But the heroine/wife takes care of orphans. One or more orphan children live with her. The little boy runs into her room in the morning excited about the chicks hatching.
There may be something about the husband's identity, either he was away for a while or was a jerk and then turned nice.

Thank you in advance if anyone has an idea.

Hello IreniaCrystalia I think the book is Kiss An Angel by Susan Elizabeth Peters.

I'm looking for a book myself. I think it's a harlequin presents set in between 1990 and 2005. The hero is in love with his widow secretary. He's patiently waiting for her to get over her husband's death when she surprises him by telling him that she wants to start dating another guy. So the hero decides to swoop in and seduce her. I hope someone can help me find it. By the way, the book cover was a blonde woman sitting on a man's lap in an office if I'm not mistaken.

Hey everyone, I'm kinda new to this site but you guys seem really helpful and honestly I could really use some help. So I'm looking for this book I read a while back, I know it was historical romance can't really remember the era, they talked about the French revolution I think anyways the guy was bethrode to this very beautiful girl and he sent his cousin to get her for him but instead the cousin went ahead to Marty her cause he taught she was the most beautiful girl he ever saw, so the guy ended up marrying the sister he didn't want to at first but he did, I remember there was a part both sisters fought cause of their husbands and there was this guy after him so to help him the girl started learning French she wasn't so good at it though. One night he caught her learning how to say her name and I want to help her husband and she liked saying merde. At the ending she got kidnapped by the French guy when they stopped for her to pee on the road and while the guy was taking her away she slung her over a horse so I think all that galloping made her have a miscarriage. There was this scene where they're guy was bathing her, he wanted to rape her but she scolded him and he felt chasticed. He was getting revenge cause the girl he lived told him that her husband slept with her or something like that... Please I really need to remember the book... It's killing me.... Help..... If anyother information is needed I'll try and remember but I don't remember any names

Hey I'm Afrime and i can't seem to remember these three books I was wondering if anyone knew the titles. The first book is about
a wealthy man who meets this girl at a party and they have a one night stand. Years later he is still looking for her so he buys a reality show where he stars in kind of like the bachelor then she shows up. She has a kid and he is a prodigy and the kid is the wealthy business mans. Does anyone know the name of this book? I think it was contemporary romance. The other book is about a loan shark that comes into her fathers store and she knows him because in a way his family owns the town. She then learns that her father got a business loan from him but that’s all I remember. The last book I’m wondering about is about this boss and secretary at first they hate each other and then they have to spent time together because the secretaries sister is dating his friend. The boss then tells his friend to break up with the sister. Afterwards the secretary family deals with a scandal and her boss helps her family now she doesn’t know how she feels about her boss. Please respond if any of these book sound familiar.

I am also looking for a book I would have read back in the mid-late 1980s. Here's what I remember.

The hero stops for a night at the heroine's home/castle actually belonging either to her brother or evil step brother. The hero sees her and as she was a great beauty, wants her and takes her. He takes her to his father's home/castle and makes her his slave. She falls in love with him, but must have some sort of title because she refuses being a slave and escapes. She makes it to a city or commercial centre and sees the hero with another woman and turns around and runs back the way she came to escape him and runs right into the arms of her hero/captive/love interest. Turns out the hero has a half brother or twin who looks just like him that he of course never knew about.

I feel like the book was medieval-ish time period and may have been saxon, not viking. She may have started off blind and hit her head on a rock and then was miraculously able to see. I believe she had a wolf as a pet.

I've searched through about 60 different authors using good reads and fantastic fiction to look for authors publishing medieval books in the mid 1980s and couldn't find a match. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I felt like it could be early Beatrice Small or Johanna Lindsey but I've checked and it doesn't belong to either of them.

So its been a while since I read this book so I only remember bits and pieces of it.

Towards the end of the book the girl is kidnapped. She is taken to either a cave or a mine. Her kidnapper eventually pushes her into the mine/cave. One of the prominent things I remember from this book is that there was a legend about these creatures that were said to live in the mine/cave (dwarfs or gnomes I just remember they were described as small). While this girl is laying there one of them comes to her while wearing a helmet with an old fashioned light or candle and sings a song to her.

I'm looking for a book set in England I believe in the 1800's. The heroine is a companion to a doctors daughter. The daughter kills people by poisoning them and even keeps one of the skeletons in her closet. The daughter ends up going to the nearby lord to try and marry him but the companion ends up getting his attention. The companion had been pregnant when she came to the doctors family but the child was stillborn. The daughter ends up poisoning the lords Spaniard friend and he tries warning them by scratching Bella into the floorboards of his room. But everyone mistakes it for him writing Belladonna and not referencing the daughter's beauty. The daughter ends up locking the companion in an outlying building and blaming the deaths on her.

Hi all, I hope you might be able to help me. I have had no luck trying to find this book and it has been driving me mad trying to find it.

I remember reading this in 2011-2013 period but it could have also been older than that...it was historical romance, set in England...the details are a bit murky but this is what I remember. (Sorry for the long post)

It features a reluctant son of a titled man and a young girl. They are set to be married, probably arranged by their fathers and most likely because the girl has a dowry or there is some kind of debt (but I am not sure exactly...remember that it was kind of a forced marriage of sorts for the groom). The man does not want this and is clearly upset. Nevertheless, they get married. She is told to anticipate the wedding night, and she waits for him. He comes to her and when they start, she changed her mind and says no, but he does not listen. He then goes through with the deed but if I remember correctly, gets angry with himself afterwards that he did that to her.

The next morning, he is fed up with himself and the situation and he banishes her to one of his family country estates that is not looked after. The Heroine decides to take this in stride and wants to make it prosperous. Upon arriving, she discovers that the servants have been stealing from the house and many of the valued possession of the estate are gone. (or something similar...remember that she has words with the butler.)

Some time pass and he comes to the country estate and does not recognize it. Not sure what causes him to go back. But he is surprised to see the estate doing well and she is thriving too. He feels guilty and wants to make things right but feels guilty of his treatment towards her. She seems more forgiving but he cannot seem to forgive himself....

while learning about the estate, he also learns she is smart...I remember something about her being good at math and also something about wheat production and wheat production technologies (but I could be mistaken here).

Now this part is a bit murky and not sure if it is truly from this book or not.... I think he was also estranged from his cousin or hi brother or something and I think either the wife is telling him to make amends with the person and his family, or if it was the cousin/brother (maybe they weren't estranged) who is telling him to make amends with his wife and try to make a real marriage out of it.

That is all I remember.

Any help would be appreciated. For whatever reason, I keep thinking it would be a Mary Balogh book, but I have gone through the description of her books and nothing stands out.

It is not Unforgiveable by Joanna Chambers -- i thought it was this but alas nope

I'm looking for a specific romance novel but I can't quite remember the title.
It took place in 19th century America; the daughter of a wealthy man was supposed to marry the son of a Native American chief, but her father went back on his word and faked her death. The book starts with her return home.

I read a book back in the late 80s early 90s that I can’t find.

Historical Southern US possibly Louisanna
Lady sneaks into a house to steal back her fathers marker. She slips into a room to hide that is occupied. For some reason she sleeps with the stranger. She leaves before they even see each other. She’s pregnant gets married to some man who needs her dowry and promises to come back.

She sees husbands name or picture that he is getting married. She goes to confront him and arrives at the church during the ceremony.

That’s all I can remember.

Hoping someone recognizes this information and can help. Think about this book many times over the years and would really like to get my hands on it again.

I've been going up and down the interwebs searching for this book and I'm ready to combust. It's contemporary and I read it about 7 years ago (2013-ish?)

The story is about a "curvy" nurse who lives a quaint life and works in a convalescent home. One of her patients dies and, in their last will and testament, she's mentioned for a reason that I can't entirely remember. But it results in her getting together with his son (or grandson) who is set to inherit the estate.

The son/grandson wants nothing to do with the nurse and is turned off by her. But a condition of him inheriting anything is that he must try and make a romantic relationship/connection work with this nurse for a certain amount of time. It ends up working out that he injures himself and the nurse comes to help him get better. They eventually fall in love and get engaged.

One scene I remember most vividly is that he wants to shower alone, even though she knows he needs help. She lets him attempt to do it on his own until she hears what sounds like a struggle in the restroom. She rushes in, thinking that he's fallen/hurt, only to find that he's pleasuring himself. He's too far gone to stop and ends up "finishing" while she's watching in shock. I know that makes it sound kinda trashy but it wasn't that bad after this scene.

Hi guys i'am so glad to have found this place... I was wondering if you can help me figure out the title of this book I read back in 2007.
It was a historical romance novel with the typical Fabio-like muscly man (with long hair?) art cover, and a woman on his arm I think (set in the 1800 maybe-not too sure).
The story was about a poor boy who liked a girl from a well off family (Leah I think her name was). Her parents disapproved and married her off to someone else who had more money. A couple of years later, they bump into each other; she's widowed, heavily pregnant and close to labor (her husband gambled away their money i think, and died shortly after), and this once poor boy is now a well off man who made sound investments. He helps her deliver her baby (the baby didn't cry for the first few minutes and they thought he was dead, but the man in his desperation did everything he could until the baby started coughing and then cried). They get into a marriage of convenience because life would be hard for her on her own as a single mum during those times, and he claims her baby as his own. They fall in love down the line and much to his delight and surprise, she bore a son for him, which was a (delightful) surprise to them both because he was told by a doctor from the time he was young that he wouldn't be able to father children because of an accident he had. One of the 2 sons is called Benjamin.
Please help, I have been searching for this book for a while now.

Hi, new to the group and could use some help. I’ve spent over a year looking for this book.
Here’s what I remember:
- Modern day romance
-Secret daughter, father finds out when she’s 6 or 7 maybe. He sees her playing in the front yard and she has his eyes.
- small town? Or Scotland
- I remember him and his family trying to get to know the daughter and taking her to what I think was the Highland games? And they participated in them.
- heroine returned home to take care of a house, or relative. Wasn’t going to bring daughter but her friend or relative brought her up to visit. Wanted her to met her dad.

Honestly it’s not much to go on, and some of it may be wrong. But it’s been driving me crazy, so I’ll take any suggestions.
Thanks! :)

I am having a hard time remembering a book I read 10 to 12 years ago.

This girl travels with her best friend and the father of her best friend to an estate/ castle. the best friend is betrothed to man that has just inherited said place. main man has an accent. British or Irish or Scottish ... hard to remember In the beginning he gives her crap for her wet wool dress she is wearing as she tries to make vegetable soup since he has no other food. he runs to town for meat pies. oof. I remember only bits and pieces. no names.

the main girl is from a wealthy family (I think) but under the disguise as her best friends hand maiden or something so she could go with her for support.

Main man owner of said castle and betrothed to her best friend is interested in main girl not the best friend though. he was never happy finding out his betrothal to the best friend when they showed up on his door step.

best friends father becomes ill and they send for doctor. doctor bleeds the man with leeches ( I think) and other unorthodox things. everyone was mad.

a horse gives birth..

main girl and main man flirt throughout the beginning of book although she says snarky comments to him and reminds herself he is supposed to marry her best friend. Best friend falls in love with librarian boy or some kind of similar occupation.

Main character I believe had dyed her hair in the beginning and also had put fake freckles on her face or tried to lighten her freckles with lemon juice but I'm not sure which.

trying to think of my memories of this book is difficult. sorry I remember nothing much about the book. seemed colonial ish period MAYBE I cannot place any of the accents.

Main girl and Main guy end up marrying in the end I think.

they do have sexual relations in the book but very romantic nothing raunchy. compares her wet dress from swimming to a peach with a tissue wrapped around it lol. Im sorry its so hard to remember and its driving me nuts because I want to read it again/own it.

I don't remember the author or the book cover because it was a used hard back book with the book sleeve missing so I never looked at that.

Hey guys. I'm new here and I've been wracking my brain trying to remember a book I read a few years ago. Pls help!!
So I don't remember the title or any names but just the plot line. It's a regency romance about a man (I think he has a title) and a woman (I think she's American). The hero has a dark cloud over him I can't remember why but it had something to do with his family and everyone stays away from him. I don't remember how they met but for some reason he's intent on marrying her. I remember he made love to her in a couch and the girl's brother walks in when he's zipping her up (the horror). So later when they're arguing about her not wanting to get married he says something like "for all we know you could be carrying my child". Anyway there's a side story of a death. Some woman fell down the stairs but it was later revealed she was pushed down by the man with a "roaring voice" as the hero's ward describes him. Yh about his ward I think they're related and once she fainted and he got scared. She'd also been giving him a hard time. I also remember the heroine painted something and no one seemed to know but the hero said it was her because the colours matched her personality( or something like that). At the end they get engaged and sure enough she's pregnant

Hi, I have been looking for this book for a long time, I think it's a western historical romance about a marriage of convenience/arranged marriage where the hero only marries to have an heir and is not interested in love and it is not long before they consummate their marriage.
(might have been the same day they married) they might have gone to an inn or something can't really remember. it might have involved a mining town. it might also have been labeled as a clean romance but was the opposite?

if you know of anything that is all similar please let me know as I don't know if I mixed up the details.

Thank you!

Hi. I put this on another thread but I never got anywhere. I have been trying to track this book down every way I can and have been majorly unsuccessful!!! It's a paranormal romance or urban fantasy book that I cannot find again and I've been trying for two years. I cannot remember the author but I know it was a female.

Story: A woman wakes up in the body of an evil, bitchy princess. Her mother (queen?) and sister don't realize she's not the person they know. There is a man who is trapped in the castle and a book on the bedside table and eventually this woman reads it and finds a message to her from the author, who is a guy she has to rescue ??? This leads to a whole adventure in which there are ogres and other strange characters but she has to run away from the castle she's in with the guy in order for this to happen, and they are pursued.

It's adult but I don't remember it being graphic. It had to have been available electronically but I also cannot find it on any other site. So frustrating! Sure hope someone can help. :(

>126 DitzyOne: DitzyOne unfortunately this group isn't active. For romance novels searches, have you tried asking the smartbitchestrashybooks blog? Hi, I am trying to remember a book and unfortunately don't have much to go on. It is a historical romance about a man and woman that are arranged to be betrothed years ago. The heroine's father lies and gives her romantic letters from her fiance so that she will work hard to become a lady he approves of. Her father actually wrote the letters though. The father gives her gifts like earrings and says they are from her fiance but he never sent her anything. Any ideas?

Hi all,

I’m really trying to find a book I read in senior school (from UK). I read it in 2011 and it can’t have been more than 5 or so years old. It have a yellow/orange cover I believe. It was about a teen girl whose mum I think died and then had to move from UK to LA and live with her wealthy dad. I think her dad was famous but not so sure and he was quite neglectful of her and she resented him for leaving when she was little. She was made to dress more feminine but preferred black skinny jeans and old T-shirts and converse sneakers. She had met a boy and really liked him. She then stole one of her dads cars, I remember a mini, and they went on a road trip together. It was a teen romance novel. Female author I think but can’t remember protagonist’s name, maybe Lucy???

I’d love to find this book ❤️

>23 ZiaNemesis: We had someone write into the LibraryThing email to suggest that this one might be The Loving Slave by Margaret Pargeter. She writes, "The story has an unusually sad beginning. A teenage girl lives in extreme poverty and neglected, her father is an alcoholic and the girl admires a grown-up male from a big house. This young man talks to her very unkindly making her life even more miserable. It is impossible to forget the story."

Hello everyone am a newbie and would love very much to get hold of this book i read in the early 20's. I have been searching for it forever . Actually i cant remember the title, book cover or even the H/h names. Inshort this is the small piece i can think of.
The heroine is supposedly married to this old aristocratic lord who is impotent. The heroine is poor and is like she and her brothers used to be theives. Heroine was living with this old aristocratic lord as his wife to help protect his image so his friends wont know his condition.
Heroine collects money and stuffs from old lords house to go give her brothers who were still living in the streets. There was this hunting party that was to take place in the old aristocratic lord's country house and this was how the hero who was a wealthy lord ( cant remember if he was a duke or an earl) got to meet the heroine and fell head over heels inlove with her.
The hero caught the heroine one time looking for "mandrakes" in the forest and insisted for heroine to tell him exactly what purpose she was using mandrake for (mandrake roots was said to help in impotency).
The hero had already suspected that the relationship between heroine and the old lord was fake. Still in the course of the hunting party heroine and hero developed feeling for each other, they had sex heroine was disvirgined and hero wanted the heroine for himself
Heroine ran away and hero had to search every were for her to no avail. After some time the hero reluctantly attended a ball and coincidentally met with the heroine.
I seem not to remember anything as from here.
Plsssssssss someone should me. Thanks

Ok so I read this book between 2016 and 2020. Her is what I remember about it:
- male lead is a warrior or mercenary
- has a sister who he brings to meet his wife
- marries woman and gains a rundown castle
- female lead lives a life of Luxuray and is forced to marry this guy by the king or something like that

The scenes that I remember is that in the beginning they get to this castle on the dowry land only to find out it is in shambles and needs a lot of work. The female lead has never done hard labor before but tries to help. Later she sees a mouse in the makeshift shelter and screams, husband comes in and rolls his eyes kind of attitude.
Sister of the male tells the female lead how growing up it was only the two of them, and they got into a bad situation (possibly living in a brothel for a little while) until the male lead got them out.
The castle also has an issue with bandits, who like to raid the castle supplies. The male warrior tells the bandits if they ever come back they will need to deal with him cause he is the protector of the townspeople (anyone who pledges loyalty to him) and the castle.

I’m looking for a series of books I started reading around 2015-2017 and I cannot remember the titles for the life of me. They are romance novels based around teenagers to mid twenties maybe. The cover each has a girl and then a guy without a shirt on. The books build off each other as they take a character from the previous book and make it all about them and their story. One of the books has a girl I starts working in a house (maybe as a maid) and the guy ends up being a famous musician and then start dating and I’m pretty sure he moves and she goes into a depression and this guy who’s totally in love with her tries to help her because he hated the musician guy and was jealous but. The next book is about the guy who was helping her. I know another book in the series is about a country boy but I just can’t remember

I've been thinking about one of the first romance novel I read and can't find it anywhere. It was published sometime before the mid 90's. It was set some time in the late 1800 early 1900 (i remember a scene on a train.) Story was about the son of this rich house taking an interest in one of the maids. He basically rapes her and then when she tries to leave he cuts off her hair and cuts up all her clothes so she can't leave in the middle of winter. Of course months go by and somehow she still falls in love with him. So she is excited when she finds out she's pregnant. He accuses her of cheating on him because he was told he can't have kids, due to some childhood sickness or trauma. She runs away and opens a dress shop. He tracks her down apologizes and begs for her to come back to him.

Trying to find this book I read a few years ago. Details below.
Historical Romance
Heroine lives on her own in a house left to her by her family (I think) she finds the hero in the snow, suffering from a head(?) wound and brings him in her house to help him heal. She nurses him back to health but it's touch and go. She's forced to share body heat with him to survive and is caught by some persons from the village paying her an unexpected visit.

That's just like the first 15% of the book. The rest is a bit murky for me. The village people force the two of them to a marriage of convenience which they're both reluctant about but eventually she agrees to help him try to find who tried to kill him and they move to town.

He has some female relatives he's taking care of and he has a title that he wasn't in line for initially but the heir ,I think his cousin, died under mysterious circumstances.

I don't remember the name or author or any of the character names and it's bugging me. Can anyone help? I think, a very big think, that the word 'counterfeit' is in the title but I may be mixing it up with another book.

Hi,
I'm desperately looking for a romance novel where a stranger ( I think it was maybe a knight ) was found near the beach by nuns. They brought him inside the convent to treat him. One novice convinced him to runaway with her ( not because they're in love ). On their run, she steals some treasure from him and he never saw her again until years later where he is wealthy ( owns boats ) and she is married to a rich merchant ( she became a smart merchant too ). It doesn't take them long to start having an affair.
Does anyone know this book ?
Thanks.

Gonna try this one more time in hopes someone has read this.

Looking for a paranormal romance or urban fantasy that was digital as far back as 2018 (wow) but have searched all the sites and still cannot find. Plot is similar to PC Cast’s “Divine By Mistake” with a heroine who wakes up in the body of another woman. This one is a bitchy princess and mom (queen) and other sister expect her to kill a male prisoner but she ends up rescuing him.

There’s a castle involved and I seem to remember a relative who kills vampires but perhaps I got that from another similar book. Once they are on the road, there are some adult sidelines with ogres and other creatures but I can’t for the life of me remember the author or the title.

It might have been a series because there seems more action in retrospect than could have fit in one book. There was also a journal on a beside table when the woman wakes up that she keeps going back to. In the end, it turns out the writer knew she would read it and left clues in it for her to find him.

Again, I fear I am confusing two similar stories. I also remember something about an inn with a magical proprietor where she spends one night but it doesn't figure prominently in the story.

Can anybody help me????

Looking for a historical romance series. There were 4 books. I read these about 20 years ago. They were about 4 British lords who were friends and each had a title with one of the 4 directions in it: North, South, East, West.

The book about North was about a lady (a virgin) who'd been sold off to a brothel. Lord North was convinced by the owner to purchase her to keep her away from a cruel Duke. The Duke turns out to be related to her in some way, like maybe a half brother or something, I think, and she only ended up in the brothel because she'd been hidden from the Duke since childhood because he was obsessed with her. North eventually falls in love with her and finds out the truth of her birth and protects her from the Duke who finally dies or is killed in the end and she and North of course marry and live happily ever after.

Hey, I was looking for a YA romance book where:
- ML made a bet in high school that he would sleep with the FL & she found out about the bet
- flash-forward a few years later FL moving out of ex's house & going to live with her cousin and her cousin's S.O. in their apartment complex (i think it took place in Arizona?)
- cousins SO was transgender (?)
- ML & FL meet again and ML apologizes & they become friends

That's honestly all I remember about the plot and I read it I'd say around the 2010s but before 2018 so some bits of the plot might be missing. I only had like a sample or preview of it on like Amazon or Kindle. Please let me know if y'all know the title!

>135 ZombieZea:
So, it doesn't exactly match, but ZombieZea, your description is really ringing bells for By Design in Madeline Hunter's Medieval series, and it sounds like you're hazy on the details, so: Joan (+ little brother) are nobles in hiding (out of favor due to their father not supporting the coup a few years back), and Rhys first meets her selling pottery in a market. Then he comes upon her in stocks and protects her until she's released + cleans her up and takes care of her that night. And a couple days after investigating her situation, he buys out her indentured servitude (she is NOT happy about that since she assumes he expects sex with her), and she and her brother move in with him, but it's a very slow burn and he treats her kindly, but she is keeping the nobility secret for most of the book, so that's separating them.

I read this probably 15-17 years ago but it might have been older than that. I’d love if someone could help me out! I’ve been looking for this for years!

I don't remember many scenes from the book, but the main idea is that there's a woman who has a baby. Her husband has been missing since before she had the baby. You find out later, she wanted a divorce and I think she tells him that around the time he disappeared.

One of the only scenes I really remember, is that she was with her child, at her parents home. She miiight have a boyfriend. It also might've been during the holidays. There's a knock on the door and someone goes to answer it. It's her husband, who's been missing for a year. Turns out, he had gotten in an accident, or was attacked or something, and he had amnesia the whole time and he only recently regained his memories, and came home.

He wants to fix their relationship, she still wants a divorce. It's a romance novel, so obviously they get back together. There's a scene I think where he climbs up to her window and into her room and they get intimate. There’s a scene I remember where he sucks in her nipple through her nightgown.
In the morning, he goes downstairs and the baby is in a high chair.

I'm pretty sure his name was Michael, or maybe the baby was named michael? and I think her name started with an S. Maybe sarah or something.

Please help! I’m desperate. I’ve searched through all the amnesia romance I can, but it’s not any of the ones I’ve found. I think it’s because he had amnesia off script/screen and not in the whole book.

Help! Searching for this book has been driving me crazy. I read this book when I was a teenager in the 90's.

The book begins at the very beginning of the American revolution with a pampered girl who lives in one of the colonial cities (I think Boston) with her father, older brother, and twin brother. She becomes involved in the patriot cause (I think she dances with a British officer at a ball in order to cover her brother’s tracks and is ostracized by her community as a “traitor” to the patriot side (although her father and brother know why she did it and are proud of her)). She meets the hero at some point (maybe he is acquaintance/friend of her older brother…?) The hero is connected to General Washington (aide-de-camp and/or spy). She ends up in New York and amidst those battles/campaigns. She thinks the hero is dead. Somehow, she ends up with General Washington’s camp where she meets back up with the hero (he’s alive!), they have a steamy reunion, and then eventually have a happy ending.

Does that ring any bells for anyone???

Hello everyone!
I really really hope someone can help me find this book based on the information that I have lol.
The cover of the book is animated. There's a black woman and a red dress. She's sitting next to a tall man and a suit and I think her hand is on his chest and she's wearing red heels.

This female art appraiser is standing in the attic appraising the property of a wealthy family and secretly looking for painting that her grandmother says was stole from her many years ago. She said the painting was given to her by her lover who married the other woman. But as she's in the attic doing her job and snooping, she meets the grandson of the rich woman. I think his name is Noah. He's tall and green eyed. He handles the financial business of the family I think. Anyways, she tries not to like him and he's doing everything to woo her and court her and she starts talking her grandma about him and in the end he gives her the painting to end the family feud

Read this book early 2000s. So it could have been published in the 1980s or 1990s. This book is the second in a series I think. The female lead is locked in the cabin by the captain after she tries to escape. She pleads with the captain not to do this because she is afraid and that she would do anything if he does not lock the door. She beats against the locked door until her hands bleed. I suspect it has to do with some trauma by her father. In the first book this female lead was being used by her father to break up the main couple but in the end she goes against her father. Cannot remember anything about the first book. Can only remember this brief bit of the second book. Never got to read it. Have been trying to find it on and off more than 20 years now. Hopefully someone has an idea of the name.

Read this late 1990s to early 2000s. So it could have been published anytime between 1970-2005. It is a historical western romance. I do not have much details to go on but the book was a part of a series. In the first book the FL was mistaken for the ML mail order bride. She is eventually found out and the ML original mail order bride comes to town. Cannot remember if the ML has kids. Think the ML lives on a farm/ranch. The second book is about his brother. The original mail order bride from the first book gets involved with the brother since when she arrived her husband was already married and she needed somewhere to stay. Not certain if the brother has kids. The brother has bad attitude, limp, or is scarred. Can be mixing up books here. Sorry for being vague but that is all I can remember.

HELP! Regency style romance. A woman is engaged to be married, only to discover her sister in compromising positions with her fiancé. a wealthy titled old man (count, duke, etc.) rescues her after witnessing it as well. Marries her for convenience and when he dies, she becomes the talk of the Ton. There is also a man who (i forget how) becomes entangled with her. He is SUPPOSE to be titled, but his mother gave birth days earlier than their wedding so he is what's considered "illegitimate". His younger brother takes the title instead. But through his life he does good deeds, and has land which allows him to create a safe haven for people. in doing so, the king ends up bestowing him a title after all. The woman then marries the man. I read it in 2010-2012 area. i have yet to be able to find it again. the cover was a woman in a red dress.

Please help! Medieval romance. I read it back in the early 2000s and it was an old hardcover book, possibly published a decade or two earlier... In a castle, involved feuding or rival families, and an aristocratic heroine (she might have been locked in a room or castle wing, with her maid). The heroine was either indifferent to or very scornful towards the humble hero who was the very big and strong, stoic, silent type (sort of like Gabriel Oak) who secretly iked the heroine. Did he have cool grey eyes? Did he leave a rose in her room now and then? Did he sleep on a cold stone floor, possibly of the stables? I can't recall for sure... At some point later in the book the heroine rescues him on horseback (or vice versa), and maybe helps dress his wounds (or vice versa?). She may have dressed as a man at one part. it was clean reading, with good build-up. There was an afterword by the author (female writer) in which she wrote that this was one of her favorite works and that it was different from her other books. I'd LOVE to read it again-- please please help me identify it!!!!

Hi, can someone please help me. I read a book long ago and I don’t remember the title or the author. I do know that the boy character had a brace on his leg or he had a messed up leg. He was getting bullied at school, I think the bullies destroyed a picture of the boys mom. The main character befriends the boy and they start dating. I’m not sure of the reason they broke up but I think it was because of the girls family. I believe she lived with her very religious grandmother and a mean grandfather. I do know that the couple reunited years later in their life. I believe the engaged in grown up activities when they finally reunited. I’m not sure if it was in a hotel or not. Other than that that’s all I know about the book.

PLEASE HELP ME, THANK YOU!

i read this i want to say maybe 8-10 years ago? it has been a while....

ok-so one of the first scenes in the book is a youg boy, who is a servant, goes to the store. he works as a vaket.servant to a young man in a rich family. they has been to the store, and his 'master' has shown him a chess set-i think it was glass, that he wanted...the young boy(servant) has been saving his money, and plans to buy it for him. for christmas. he is crushed when the store employee tells him the price, and he realizes he isnt even close to having the money to buy it.

he goes back to the house, and it is time to get his master dressed for dinner. the master is trying to insist to his mother that his valet should be able to attend with him. the mother is getting angry. when she leaves, the valet has tears in his eyes...he is so hurt and disappointed-he wanted so much to get his master the chess set.

a few times the master and the valet kiss-in a closet or the dark of night. then one day, the servant disappears, and the master is upset-but so arrogant he wont go look for him....

so years pass, and the master is a man now. he is going to a party with a girl who is the daughter of his parents sworn enemy....and guess who is a servant there-serving drinks to guests at the party. the boy who was his valet. he manages to get him alone, and wants to know why he left him.

the servant shows him a picture of a young boy, who looks like him. apparently it is his brother. he explains it as both boys were found in the park, passed out, injured. the one who was his servant had no memory of what happened. his brother remembered him, and when he found him, asked him to come and live with him. oen boy became a servant, the other was adopted by the family who ofund him. his brother was sick and dying, and he couldnt refuse to come be with him. the brother begged his adoptive parents to adopt his brother too, but the servant refused the offer-he was used to being a servant, and didnt think he could change. but the adoptive parents promised their son there would always be a place for the brother in their home.

the servant explained to his former master that if he told him, it would have been too difficult to leave-so he just left.

so they sort of make up-anf the master invited the servant to a party, at his house-but he wants him to dress as a woman. the dress is a geisha sort. he remembers how his master and his siter dressed him as a girl when he was young, and how the master would kiss him. he asked him a question, something like 'how do you know if its love' or 'do you believe in love'

the servant arrives early to the party, and goes up to the attic to see his old room. i think the master goes up there, and kisses him, and asks him the question again. some time that night, he tells him he is moving away. his rich uncle who was a 'bachelor' (term for gay in thos times) passed away and left him money-so he is leaving his family, and going to live his life, and he wants the former servant to go with him-as a lover, not as a servant.

the next day, there is a article in the gossip papers about the young man being on a date with a myseterious femail-and it might be love.....

i thought this was written by scarlett blackwell-but i looked, and i didnt see it-possible i missed it. i dont think it is part of a series. it wasnt a terribly long book-i think i read it when the 'loves landscapes' series came out for those few years-so it is possible it is one of the stories in those series.

thank you so much for reading this-i hope someone recognizes it as i am really hoping to read it again....

once again-thanks!

Hi guys :)
I posted this in the Name That Book cont. Part II and another Name That Book, but I figured I'd also post it here. I've been trying to find a contemporary romance I read a couple years ago as an ebook. I don't remember a lot of details, but hopefully my description makes sense.

The book is about a poor, possibly foreign (like she moved from some European country), woman who cleans for a living. She ends up housekeeping for a wealthy man whos lives in an apartment maybe (I'm not sure about that one), and eventually they fall in love. She's a very shy and quiet person, and I remember when she first started working for him she would stare at him a lot and describe how beautiful and intimidating he was. He was the type of guy to have a lot of one night stands before he met her, and she even finds evidence of one of his one night stands in his trashcan when she cleans his room in the beginning of the book.

How they first meet is by the woman trying to clean his room, not knowing he was asleep in it, and accidentally waking him up. He describes her as an angel and I think he believed he was dreaming her up in his head.

Another part of the story I remember is that she walks to her job everyday, so one day it was pouring down rain and she had really old, worn out shoes and no umbrella and still walked through that to get there. He helped her dry her clothes and wouldn't let her keep working until they were.

The last thing I remember is a scene near the end of the book where there's some kind of trouble with the place she's living at or people she's staying with, and that he comes to save her pretty much.

Sorry I can't remember the plot that well and I might have even remembered some things wrong, but hopefully someone can help me find it...thanks :)

I'm hoping someone can help me find this book. I stole it from my mom in the 80s and all I really remember is that there was a child star who changed her hair once mid picture and the director was mad because they had to re-film.

I know it's not a lot to go on, but please help!
