July 2015: Weeds are everywhere! When some weeding really has to be done, the new Consumer Reports magazine tested a DIY formula with excellent results. Here is the formula:
1 gallon white vinegar ... look for less expensive containers of white vinegar at stores like COSTCO or Smart&Final.
2 cups Epsom salt
1/4 cup Dawn liquid dishwashing soap
Mix, pour into a hand sprayer, and spray on weeds. When Consumer Reports checked, they confirmed that weeds die after that application. This formula combines a mild acid with salt and detergent, creating a film that coats weeds.

In the internet radio show on astrology hosted by California's Caroline Casey, she interviewed one health care provider who discussed the widespread human problem of depression, widespread in the 21st century at least. The health care person noted that at least one traditional plant remedy for depression has become a common volunteer plant in the yards of homes, especially in regions where clinical depression is a big issue. In the words of that interviewee, "those plants just show up where they're needed!"
