Ok I'm actually on the hunt for two romance books that I read year ago and I just can't seem to remember the titles or authors, unfortunately!

The first book:
Is about two lawyers friends who work in the same law firm. They are working on the same case only on opposing sides. If I remember correctly it was a divorce case or something along the line.

I just remember this part:
One night they are going out to dinner and drop by each others place to change out of their work clothes and end up drinking way too much wine (I think) on an empty stomach, in her house I believe. This causes them to get a little too drunk and end up sleeping together. They wake up the next morning very confused because, if I remember correctly, she divorced her ex-husband a year ago (? Again I think) and so she hasn't slept with a guy since then. And so feeling a mans body next to her makes her think its her ex. While he's confused because the bed too short for him, he's taller and his feet stick out. And so when they both open their eyes they freak out because they're good friends and can't believe what happened the night before.

Also, I remember her freaking out because she's 'pregnant' then getting really sad when she realizes she's not.

Please help!! I've looked for it everywhere but I just cant find it :(
P.S. I keep thinking that her (female main character's) name is Faith. And I also keep thinkin that this book takes place in NYC but it could be any city.

And book #2:
Also a romance book. Its about (I think) a cowboy/rancher who puts up a "wife wanted" ad on the newspaper, only it turns out that its not him put it up, but I think his sister did or something like that. Anyways, a woman (from the city) ends up marrying him and when the time comes to meet him and move in with him she discovers that he is extremely sick and in bed. They end up sleeing together on the first night, I think, when she's doing something, either giving him medicine or a bath or food or something, and he pulls her down and kisses her and then they have sex. She later discovers that he remembers nothing (I think) and is really sad when she finds out that he had nothing to do with the ad and has no memory of ever marrying her. I think he wants to send her back home (to her city) but he eventually falls in love with her.
Also in this second book I remember him looking for his son, which the indians stole from him. And when they do find him he's wild but the girl gets through him. And when the girl leaves them later on in the book the boy is really sad. And they go into town to the shop that she works in and the little boy tells her her loves her (I think!)
Ahh I don't know if I gave enough for anyone to help me out but I would really appreciate any!!

Hello everyone , I am on the hunt for a book i read in highschool and absolutely loved.

It a regency or Victorian era book about 2 best friends, one of which has a younger sister with green eyes and black hair. At the little sister's coming out there is an incident that leads to the best friend and her marrying. On their wedding night she informs him that she has her monthly and he leaves the house until she is over it.

I remember that the best friend had had an awful childhood and that his family home was very cold and informal. The little sister (now his wife) changed a lot of things in the house, including taking over what had been called the white room. I also remember that her husband had a swing off his suite.

I am hoping you all can help

Hi, I'm looking for a romance novel I read years ago. I've searched everywhere and have found no trace of it so any help would appreciated because I'm going crazy looking for it.

Here's what I remember:

-The heroine was a widow. I believe her dead husband was older and cruel.
-A man arrives that claims to be the heir, which makes the widow hate him
-The man may or may not have a slight limp
-There's a very steamy scene where the man pleasures the widow with a string of pearls and tells her that if she ever desires him to wear them around her neck and he'll take her right at that moment
-Later in the book, she wears the pearls and they have sex in the stairwell (I think people are in the other room close by)
-At the very end, it's revealed that the man was actually a spy and was sent there for some reason

Please help me find this!

Hi I'm new here but I have been looking for a book for a long time. So here goes. It's a romance book. Modern but has flashbacks. I don't know the title or author. Please help!

1. The main male character becomes a famous NFL player so the main female character can find him
2. As a teenager the woman has witnessed a horrible crime so she is on the run but the guy doesn't know that.
3. She becomes pregnant as a teenager but gets amnesia so she forgets the father of the child.
4. She remembers later in life when her son is a teenager and goes to find her son's dad.
5. It turns out she is sick but the man is determined to take care of her and figure out why she left.

Hi!
Hope someone can help me find the title and author of this book. I read this book in the 1980's (maybe early 90"s). Book cover photo showed the head of a woman, curly brown hair, blue sequin dress cut down to the navel and a sapphire pendant, gift of her murdered Italian husband. She writes a trashy romance novel (this was in the days of Judith Krantz) and gets rich and famous.

Hi everyone, I don't normally post to things, but this one is driving me mad- thought it was a stephanie laurens but can't find a matching description...
A lady decides to take a lover after her husband dies, everyone assumes she has been cuckolding her husband but he was actually gay and treating her something like a favourite niece. Her previous 'lovers' were actually other gay men that he was friends or in a relationship with. He has married her because he witnessed her bring jilted for her sister because her sister is supposedly prettier.
Also the man she chooses as a lover is supposed to be a reprobate living in a house of ill repute, but it's actually more like a shelter for women.

Ok so I'm thinking of a book pretty sure it's historical but not positive. I think the heroine was raised by Indians but might be highlands or something else.
All I can remember is that the hero is always saying I love you and getting frustrated because she won't. She instead says things like " my heart sings when you walk in the room" and stuff like that.
When he demands she say I love you she explains why she doesn't something about the words not having meaning.
so then of course he gets it and yada yada :) I think it ends with him wanting her to tell him he loves her in her words.
It's a lot like Julie garwood's lions lady but not quite. And it's driving me crazy!!!! Help!!!

Ok, I read this book many years ago, I think it's early nineties. It is Historical Romance with a couple locations. Starts out with heroine taking two lords to an inn for her uncle, where one deflowers her. Her uncle throws her out so the lord keeps her as a mistress and takes her back to London. She then stows away on his ship to the carabian where she finds out she is pregnant. They cannot be together because of his status. He then had to fight in a war and marries a nun as a favor to her father, then the nun died. He returns to find the mistress has married an older man whom canning have relations. He had his way with her in a greenhouse and she becomes pregnant again, but her older husband tries to kill her.

I cannot remember the name of book or author. If this sounds familiar I would be great full for some suggestions.

Hello, I am in search of three books I read many years ago. Probably about 1990ish.

The first I think is Harlequin Romance: A timid burly (flannel shirt) man who doesn't think he's worth loving. A farm house? Maybe? I think he was wet maybe from rain and needed a change of clothes??? I remember she approached him in the kitchen to kiss him.

The second Historical Romance: Coastal town, pirate (maybe) but captain of ship and woman who faints around him. Either when he is around or kisses her. Unlikely romance.

The third Historical Romance: Mostly what I remember is beautiful hand held fans. I think the Heroine made them or her family did. King, castle, court and so on. Really good book with great details.

Thank you!

Hi what a great site this is.

This book is really bugging me. I think I read it in about 2006-8.
.It's set in the mid to late victorian era at a northern english glass works.
.The heroine is working class at the start and in love with a young working class boy.
.The first scene in the book is the pair ice skating together when there is an explosion at the works where many are killed including the heir to the works.
.Later on it turns out she is the illegitimate daughter of the owners son and heir who dies. Her grandfather comes to claim her as the new heir.
.She is then forced into marraige too a distant relation who is a bit of a cad and has many mistresses. I know his name is Alex or Alec. A twisted love triangle ensues.

There is also a sequel to this involving the children that I don't want to go into in case someone would like to read the book.

If someone knows this book I would be very grateful if you could tell me the nam! It's been bugging me for months. Thanks in advance!

Looking for this title:

The story was about a 15 year old, poor girl with an extremely abusive father and so naive that she still thought babies came out of the sky. The setting is contemporary. The girl and her father lived in a house that was owned by the hero's family (ultra handsome, ultra rich, really spoiled guy). So the hero was 25 at that time.
The h is off to take her bath in a lake that is near her house. This is where the hero sees her. Their interlude begins etc.

Trying to find a book I read in the mid 90's. Its about a girl who dresses in her brothers clothes to enter a brothel. She knows oneof the girls in the brothel and they hide her in a room. She ddiscovers a mirror that allows her to see into the room without being caught. She then witnesses a sexual encounter with a very hot male and a working girl. Somehow she is found out and the hot guy takes her over his knee believing she is a boy and spanks her until she passed out. When she wakes up she is found out. She continued to visit the brpthel in hopes of seeing the guy again.

Ok I read this book about 7 years ago and haven't been able to find it since. It was set in Ireland or Scotland. The main character was a woman who was in a shipwreck and lost her memory. A local lord found her and was very suspicious of her at first, I believe that until they found out her real name they called her something like marguerite or similar. Any way her father was a laird or something like that and was fighting with the man who found her. That's really all I remember. I would love to find this book, thanks for all your help

Looking for a book I read maybe 10 years ago or less. Setting is a restaurant young girl as waitress who falls for the owner. He has some strange commitment issues because he has some deep friendship with the cook at the restaurant and when she gets sick he gets married to the cook so she won't die alone. That is how I think I remember it.

I'm looking for a regency romance where the hero is high status (duke? I think) and is a philanthropist. Some misunderstanding occurs and he indirectly leads to the heroine's destitution - after his mother and friends push him to see what's happened to her (they've all see and talked with her and offered support but she's refused), he goes and is horrified to see how bad her situation is. He finds her on the ground where she fell and lost some of her belongings. She then throws up and he thinks she's pregnant (I don't remember if she actually was or not). But this is the one scene I remember. I also know the novel was part of a series. I've looked into Elizabeth Hoyt, Eilzabeth Lowell, Tracy Anne Warren, Brenda, Joyce but haven't had any luck. Does this sound familiar to anyone??

Thank you~

Hey, I'm looking for a few books.

1. An older fantasy romance that I read like probably 10 years ago. The guy is like a demon or grim reaper named Lucien or something and the woman is named Marian. There's a scene where she goes through like a hormonal heat phase and another where she is almost attacked by a couple of men. Sorry this is pretty vague.

2. A recent western romance where a drifter comes into town and stays at a boarding house and eventually falls in love with the woman who runs it. And he's hiding his past because he used to live in that town, but there was an accident or something that killed his brother and now his parents think that both he and his brother are dead.

3. A girl meets a boy but then he is murdered by a woman who is a witch? And then over 3-4 books, the girl becomes a witch and actually learns the boy was bad. I kind of maybe remember a floral cover and maybe seasonal names. (Teen+)

4. In a world where crystal/glass orb/balls reveal people’s gifts, a girl drops hers and has to live her life gathering shards or pieces of paper that teach her things. She had the gift of a green thumb. (preteen to teen)

5. A group of teenagers are chosen to be avatars of ancient gods and are fated to battle. (Teen+)

It's about this woman that has amnesia (not sure why) who is told she is married or engaged to some handsome man so he takes her home and treats her badly because apparently she was a bitch before she got amnesia but post amnesia she's sweet and kind
It turns out that she's a twin and her sister is the Real wife/fiancée of the handsome man but he chooses the nice sister in the end (of course)
Anyone know this book???

Ok so I've been searching for a couple of books for several years and haven't had ANY luck.

Historical romance set in the American Civil War era. Female lead runs away from home when her stepfather (I think) tries to get with her and when she rejects his advances, accuses her of seducing him and her mother takes his side. She ends up on a train in the middle of the night that just so happens to have a POW from the opposing side on it. They end up going through all kinds of stuff including her being kidnapped and enslaved by some crazy big guy who tries to rape her and with the help of a friend she made (crazy guys daughter if I remember correctly) she kills him and escapes down a river somehow meeting back up with POW train guy.

Second one is a bit more vague in my memory. If I'm not mistaken a portion of it takes place on a ship before it crashes and the couple washes up on an island that ends up being inhabited with voodoo people who make them at home in a super nice house on the beach before trying to take over the mans mind. He either fights it off or the female lead saves him.

The second one might actually be a mash up of two books that I just got mixed together so no biggie if no one recognizes it, but I would be ecstatic if someone could put a name to the first one. Thank you!

Hello everyone! I am looking for a book I read with in the last ten years. Sorry I know that doesn't narrow it down very much.

The book is about hero having to please his dying grandfather by finding a wife. He is traveling and sees a very heavily pregnant woman feeding livestock near a small cottage. He recognizes her. She goes into labor he assists her and then asks her to pretend to be his wife to please his grandfather.

Ugh I wish I could remember the author.

Hi, I'm Kay. New to the site and the group.

I'm looking for an older romance novel. I cannot remember the title or the author of the book. But it goes as such...

A Norse Shield-Maiden and her two younger sisters are forced to marry the men of an opposing clan to avoid war, or to avoid starvation. The two younger sisters protest as heartily as their big sister at first but being more feminine give in easily to their suitors.

The Eldest brother and Warrior has a heck of a time seducing his woman, having first to beat her in combat among a few other things.

The second one is also about Norse men, a woman's village is raided by a man and his family of vikings. She is raped by his cousin while he picks her up to sell her he ends up not being able to, he is determined only to make her a slave but finds that her worth elevates her status to a more respectable level and having tried before to not fall for her falls as he sees both her kindness and knowledge. They eventually get pregnant and make their way to a new land to raise their family away from the violence and strife of their homelands.

I may remember more but I had borrowed these books from a friend in middle school whom got them from her older aunt. Books were from the early 90's and before.

Hello, I'm new to this but I'm looking for a book I read months ago with this plot:

It's a historical romance maybe set in the 1800's where the heroine is either in college or finishing school. For some reason she ends up going into a brothel and the hero mistakes her for a prostitute. The heroine runs out of the brothel and the hero searches for her. He has a lot of money and has people trying to find her but he doesn't know her name. For some reason the heroine doesn't go home for her school break and when the hero does find her he takes her to a house he had rented so he can seduce her. They end up falling in love.

Any help would be great, thanks!

Hi everyone. I actually just joined this site in hopes that one of you could help me with my search for a book that I read as a sample at the back of a novella in 2008-2009.
The story is around a woman who is either trained because she is an assassin or a hunter. She does kill people either way!
Her name is a play on Little Red Riding Hood. Possibly Red, Ruby, Scarlet, Hood, etc.
The story takes place quite a long time ago I'm assuming in the 1800s.
The only detail that I really remember is that the main character has to go to a village to save some werewolves that are locked in a cage. She doesn't seem like she is 100% comfortable with the werewolves but she knows they won't (can't?) hurt her.
I'm sorry if this isn't a lot of information to go off of but I hope to be hearing from someone soon.
Thank you!

Hi All,
a long shot -novel possibly published early to late 90s or very early 2000. Story set 1700s French Revolution. Our herione is the owner of a tavern/pub on a river or near the sea in England. Early in the story she saves a handsome man from drowning, takes him back to the tavern and nurses him back to health. Think he'd injured his leg or bump on the head - shipwreak or someone tried to kill him can't recall that part. She's very fiesty and opinionated and he's a tall dark muscular stand offish snob who only wants to get to France to save his "brother?" That is all I recall.

Here's what I remember about the book I'm searching for:

1. Set in modern day and is part of an anthology (though I think a couple of the other stories were historical)
2. A wealthy heiress is in danger and needs to stay safe until she reaches a certain age or gets married, whatever happens first.
3. She convinces her bodyguard to marry her, who agrees b/c she will pay him and he needs money.
4. He is working as a cop/bodyguard until he can retire and stay on his ranch in Wyoming? for the rest of his life.
5. The heiress has an uncle that is kind of silly and nice, but will benefit the most if she dies.
6. The heiress is extremely close to her grandfather, who is actually her step-grandfather, and it is really him who is trying to have her killed.

It could possibly be a part of a Christmas anthology. I'm not sure. I know it takes place during the winter, and it's possible they made their agreement to get married at a fund-raiser party during Christmas.

Can someone help me find a book please? I read it about 10 years ago. It was paperback with a green cover, maybe with a tree on it.
It's a romance novel. The story switches between the present and the past. Somewhere at the start the woman goes to meet a guy on a boat. I think she might be a real estate agent because she goes to an old house/estate, maybe with an orchard? I think that triggers the love story in the past. I remember a young woman kissing a poor guy in a stable/barn but they get caught and the guy gets sent away, maybe to war. I can't remember how the book ends. It's not much to go on but hopefully someone can help me.

Hi. I am trying to find a romance novel that I read a few years ago but I have no idea how old it was. The main character was trying to prove to her overbearing brother's that she was not flighty or silly and was serious about her new profession as an interior decorator. Her brothers--who along with their best friend--were contractors. Their business is in trouble because they sunk all of their money into a golf course and it seems like someone was trying to sabotage them. But they say she can decorate the model home (I think it was the model). They ask the best friend (main guy) to watch out for their sister. The best friend thinks the main character can do it but he tries to stay away from her because he is attracted to her and doesn't want to get involved. He thinks he owes her brothers since he came from the wrong side of the track. Of course they get together. I remember the main character has a jerk of an ex boyfriend. The main character's parents are dead. It's just her and her brothers and the parents have some "secrets" none of them want to tell each other about. The main guy also says she can decorate his home--which he is building on the golf course. I know there is a second in the series with one of the brother's and the main female from this one's best friend. I just cannot remember the name or author!

Hello.. New to all of this but like most everyone here I'm looking for a book I read probably 10 years ago :-/

The heroine is a red headed private investigator in the states (can't remember which one) and it starts out with her painting her toes at her desk when the hero walks in. I think he pretends to try and steal her purse or something and she pulls a shotgun on him. He asks her to help him find his sister who we later find out has been kidnapped and sold as a sex slave to someone in the Middle East. They end up going undercover and she intentionally gets kidnapped from a casino (I think).
The hero flies to where the slave auction will be taking place (it's their plan for him to buy her) and they see each other again after a week or so. She gets taken up to the auction block, nude, and the hero is stunned by how beautiful she is.. Almost misses out on buying her.. Craziness ensues, they locate the sister, make contact with her, kidnap her back and make a mad dash to a waiting plane which flies them back to the states.. I cannot remember what happens next but of course in the end they live happily ever after...

If anyone can give me any ideas as to the title or author I would be ever so greatful!

Thank you!!

Please help - I'm trying to remember a book about an actress (Jennifer?) who starts off in a play called Bus Stop and becomes a big film star. I think she has a child (a little girl called Krista?) who dies whilst a baby. In addition the book might also have had a secondary romance between a film producer (female) and her chauffeur. I can remember a scene in the book where she pulls the chauffeur into her car near the end of the book. If anyone knows this book or either or these books please let me know.

Ta very much,

Hello! I have been looking for these two books for about ten years now. The first book I bought at a used book store.

I believe it is set during the medievil times. A woman was glove wedded to a man she had never met. He is very rich. His estates are near a convent and a group of mooks that help priest when problems come up. A young handsome priest seducises the young wife that still has not met her husband. She becomes pregnant and the priest leaves promising to write when he finds a place for them both that is safe. The husband eventually walks in and sees his wife is very pregnant. I think he says something like "and who has had the pleasure". When she goes into labor the midwife tries to poision her with deadly herbs mixed in salad greens (I think) and the midwife/nurse confesses she killed the first wife this way too. After the baby is born the husband takes it into town to show her off and she catches a cold. In the end the couple makes up.

This is all I can remember. I hope someone knows this book.

Hi! I really hope someone can help me here! I've been tring to figure this out for years!

I read the start of this book via Amazon around 2011 and told myself id go back and buy it later but when i went back it had disapeared :-(

Historical romance/erotica

I thought it was part of the "black lace" group of books but its posible the cover art was just similar to what was out at the time.

Cover: im sure had a picture of a silverish/blue dress with long sleevesand the bottom of the cover was a bright green collour im pretty sure you couldnt actuallly see the girl who was wearing the dress, title couldve been written in red? I thought it wes called "unbound" or something simmilar...

Plot: or at least the start was based on 3 friends whod grown up together that lived in a tribal / pre medievil village(in europe?) it was "bonding season" due to the faze of the moon or something and the girl was set to marry one of her 2 friends (boys). But they didnt want to grow up or be separated and she ended up watching the boys have sex near a river and then joined them and they decided to run away together?? Looking for this title:

The story was about a 15 year old, poor girl with an extremely abusive father and so naive that she still thought babies came out of the sky. The setting is contemporary. The girl and her father lived in a house that was owned by the hero's family (ultra handsome, ultra rich, really spoiled guy). So the hero was 25 at that time.
The h is off to take her bath in a lake that is near her house. This is where the hero sees her. Their interlude begins etc.

Hi all,

I've been looking for this book for years, and I cant for the life for me rmb the name of the book!!

It's a contemporary romance about a couple that has been separated or divorced, can't rmb which and they have a son who stays with the mum. He comes back one day for some reason and they start the relationship again.

He tries to reconnect with her son, and one time he, the son and the mum went on outing on a boat. Her shirt gets wet and he gave her his shirt.

In the end, after he got back together with the mum, she said after he left she was so angry that she threw her wedding ring into the river.

The story may be part of an anthology, but again I'm not 100% sure! Also the story seems like it could be by Lori Foster. Any help is highly appreciated!

Hello....I would really appreciate if someone can tell me the title of this historical novel I read a few years back. I do not remember the author nor the characters name unfortunately.

Here is some of the big details from the story.

A)The hero is a lord (I am not sure if he was a duke, Earl etc)
B) The hero was previously married to an unfaithful wife who supposedly killed herself but we later find out that she was killed by her lover whose baby she was carrying.
C) Beginning novel we see The hero asking the heroine's grandparent for their daughter's hand in marriage---Which he automatically just assumes that the girl will accept because he is her last option to marry.
D) But the girl refuses his proposal without accepting her condition which is for him not to share her bed for either 6 or 3 months (I for got exactly how much). I believe she gave him 3 conditions total.

E) And the heroine is already in love with the hero because he was nice to her a few years back and asked her to dance at a ball.

F) the heroine's sister died (suicide I believe)----So there is this gentleman's ring the heroine ALWAYS carries around--- The hero also owns the same ring and is part of the same club of the sister's boyfriend-the man the sister killed herself for.

The heroine wants to go to London so that she can investigate her sister's murder. This is also one of her conditions/ultimatum for accepting his proposal I believe.

But the hero has his state in the country and would not allow his wife to go to London---> He wouldn't want his current wife to end up like his ex wife.

Basically the sister's suicide and the ex's wife suicide are related to this guy that the hero is acquainted with and absolutely despises----He was one of his ex wife's MANY lovers.

I believe the book you're looking for is Amanda Quick's Seduction

Townsfolk called him devil. For dark and enigmatic Julian, Earl of Ravenwood, was a man with a legendary temper and a first wife whose mysterious death would not be forgotten. Some said the beautiful Lady Ravenwood had drowned herself in the black, murky waters of Ravenwood Pond. Others whispered of foul play and the devil's wrath.

Now country-bred Sophy Dorring is about to become Ravenwood's new bride. Drawn to his masculine strength and the glitter of desire that burned in his emerald eyes, the tawny-haired lass had her own reasons for agreeing to a marriage of convenience. One was vengeance, and in its pursuit she would entangle Julian in a blackmail plot, a duel at dawn, and a dangerous masquerade. The other reason was dearer to her heart, but just as wild a quest: Sophy Dorring intended to teach the devil to love again.

Hello! I am looking for book I think was published in the 80's. I read it 12 years ago, but it was my moms who had had it for a while. It was set in the Victorian era I think, the main characters had separate rooms. I only remember the beginning. The girl was running from something and ends up climbing through the window of an inn and falling asleep on the bed. The man has purchased the room for the night. When he enters he thinks she is a gift from someone he was talking with while having his dinner. She allows him to touch her because she thinks she is dreaming. They are discovered before much happens, but he is told he must marry her and agrees. Beyond that the only other thing I remember is he has a nickname that came from his battle experience and he has a sister or sister in law that is a main supporting character of the story. And if I remember correctly he gambles... I think the title had midnight in it, but I'm not sure of that. Thanks!

Hello one and all, I have been looking for a book for the past 3 months and cannot find it whatsoever. It's a historical romance about a girl who went unwillingly with her friend to a witch like woman's house to get a talisman for her friend to catch this Duke or count of her dreams. Now the witch lady tells the unwilling friend to place her finger on the talisman an she pricks her finger on it. Then the witch or sorceress gives instructions to the willing friend. But the willing friend doesn't want to hold it an tells the unwilling friend to give it to her at some ball they were both supposed to attend. When the willing friend sees the man she wants she runs off to freshen up. While the unwilling friend walks to the balcony to get fresh air. The guy sees her go alone, follows her an sees her take the talisman out and is instantly curious he wants to see it closely but she tries to hide it again, they struggle with it an both of them touch it resulting in her losing her virginity that night. I also remember him being from another land because he has a mishap with her pernounciation of salt in his language. If anyone has any clue please help. Google and Amazon are giving me runaround!

Hello. The book starts with the heroine throwing clothes and other items out the hotel window because she thought her friend ripped her off. She was working on a history textbook and had just gotten a deal that she thought he hijacked (he didn't). In the meanwhile, the heroine drives to her new job arriving a few days early and in the rain where she falls for her boss. He owns some sort of training facility that teaches medieval fighting and such and she's employed to teach them about the history and assist in weapons preparation.
This book should be contemporary romance. I also remember that at one point the heroine almost drove through the hero's wooden gates because they were locked and she wanted to leave hastily.

Any information is appreciated as I read it in 2012 and have been looking for it since.

Looking for a romance novel that it is set in the U.S. when the railroads were just beginning to thrive. A man puts out an ad looking for a woman (not sure if he was searching for a bride) who has had at least one child (proof that she is not barren) as he wishes to sire an heir. I think this ad was placed in New York. The woman he chooses deceives him into thinking that she is a widow and he believes her little sister is actually her daughter. The ad promised lots of money and she and her sister were in desperate need. Once they get on a train to head west to his ranch in Wyoming or some such state, he finds out in his privately owned car his new lady was not experienced as he had thought. I do remember that the train had to stop for buffalo or bison crossing.

I would appreciate if anyone could name the book and/or author.

I'm looking for a book a read a long time ago. I believe it is a Harlequin romance. It's about this girl and her neighbor who appears to be a womanizer. I think he volunteers to give her dating pointers or something, but she doesn't think he can concentrate on just one woman. I can't remember how it ends, but I know they have the same last name. Carpenter and Carpenter. Any tidbits would be appreciated. Thank you!

Hi! I just joined because I've been wracking my brain, and slogging through the internet, but I cannot remember what this book was.

What I remember:
1) I think it was either Victorian or regency. Lords and ladies and corsets and whatnot.
2) The heroine was abused by her stepfather (?) and though she was flattered by his attentions at first, she put up with his more sadistic tendencies to save her sister.
3) At some point she joins a bordello, I think in part to get away from the hero, but also I think to get money to protect her sister
4) They use henna tattoos to cover scars left behind by her abuser
5) The hero immediately pays to make her his mistress, takes her away to a love nest, and eventually convinces her to marry him.

I think there may have been some themes of control or dominance, but it wasn't over the top.

Hi everyone. Just joined group. Looking to see if anyone can help me find the title or author for a book I read about 20 years ago. It's been going around in my head for days and is driving me a little crazy.

Futuristic Earth where there is timed showers and sidewalk excaltors. A woman is deported from Earth for going to a "gov't rebellion" meeting 1 time to a colony established on another planet. She is transported on a spaceship where she is told she will have to marry as soon as she lands or become a lover of one of the male settlers for housing. On the spaceship, she learns some self-defense from the one guy she interacts with a lot. As they land on the planet, she picks the guy she spent most of her time with to marry even though she doesn't know he can turn her down since he was the first born on this planet and it gives him certain privileges. They marry one the first day she is on the planet and then he takes her home. The book also has lizard like predators eating ranchers beasts and the h & h are part of the team that goes searching for them to investigate them and see if they need to be killed or as h. would like to research them.

Please let me know if anyone can think of the title or even author. Thanks!

Hi everyone! Just joined the group and am hoping someone can help me! I must have read this book around 15 years ago, so it's at least as old as that, if not more. It's set in "the olden days". The heroine lives in a cabin the forest, I think with her father and maybe an aunt-type person? She's quite young, very headstrong and gets into trouble a lot. One night I think she is trying to run away and comes across a man in the bushes - I can't really remember why he is there (he may be a thief). Anyway, she convinces him to let her go with him wherever he is going - I think he eventually agrees to take her as far as a city. On the way they get ambushed; she is sold to a house where she becomes a slave (I remember something about her cleaning the house, I think the person she works for is a doctor of some description). The hero is working in the mines. Something happens which allows her to escape, she also rescues the hero and they escape into the mountains. He is badly injured so she nurses him back to health and they fall in love. Whilst they're on the mountain he teaches her to fish. He takes her back home and promises that he will come back for her. In the epilogue we find that she is pregnant; the aunt-type figure from the beginning of the book is a sort of matchmaker / witch in the village. The hero does come back for her and it's happily ever after!

I'm looking for a Harlequin from the 1990's. I only recall the vaguest of details...The hero is a military pilot and the story is about a son he didn't know existed, I think, there's definitely a young son in the story. The hero really likes Walt Whitman.

I am looking for a historical romance, I believe set in America. There are a group of four brothers that work the farm during the day and taken to highway robbery at night in order make ends meet. There is a girl working for them (I think) in the house and she discovers their secret. She and the oldest brother have developed a relationship and are in love. She begins riding out with them, against their wishes and they become quite sucessful. One night things go wrong, her love has been shot and she thinks he is dying, she gets captured and is blackmailed to remain with her captor to protect the brothers from prosecution. Hero and Heronie meet and of course things heat up when she refuses to leave with him. Please help if you can, I hope I am remembering this correctly, but it was in the mid-nineties when I read it! It might have even been a part of a series, with this being the first book.

Hey, I'm looking for a contemporary romance that I read about five maybe six years ago. I don't have the best recollection of the names in the book the only thing I can really remember are a few scenes from the book.
The main scene I remember is that the book starts out with the heroine (who is really shy) being afraid of her mom's boyfriend because he's a creepy drunk. One night I don't think her mom is there so the heroine locks her door so he doesn't get into her room. The boyfriend starts to knock on her door and instead of waiting around for him to do something the heroine sneaks out the window. She then runs over to the hero's house and she ends up losing her virginity to him. They were both young and they both cared for each other.
I think they somehow got separated at some point and don't see each other until later on in life when they are a tad bit older. Yet, I'm not entirely certain of this or how they got separated.
I just know that the girl never did suffer any abuse from her mom's boyfriend and that there is a happily ever after between the hero and heroine.
I did read this on my kindle when I had one so I don't know if there is a hard copy or not of this book. Any suggestions would be great please.

But he was being watched by the FBI/cops and they talk to her and scare her off. She had taken migraine meds and ended up prego but does not tell him. She has a son and takes offer her family restaurant. The son is kidnapped and she turns to the guy to help pay for the ransom. He comes with his Italian friend/cousin who pretends not to speak English so here whats going on. I think he owns planes or likes flying planes and the son is found who looks just like him and he and the girl get married.

Hi all, new here but really wanting to reread a book I read around 15 years ago. It probably from the early to mid 90's Historical Romance. The Heroin is named Margaret or Meg. The Hero I don't recall his name, but I want to say Rafe or Rafael. The hero is from a titled family but they have a genetic issue. They have club foot or hair lip children. The hero's father married several times but the hero is the only child born without a defect. All his other siblings and half siblings were killed soon after birth by his father. The heroin was a ward of their family and was a blonde girl when the hero left the home. Years later he meets her again but she is now brunette and his father's widow. He doesn't know who she is at first. His father tried killing her and she fought back and killed him. The hero's uncle is determined to convict her for murder though. This is set in England I want to say 1700's but not sure on that. The hero is also a highway man or similar- he rejected his family and hasn't contacted any of them since his mother's death. He only discovers that Meg, this woman he rescued bleeding and is in love with, is Margaret after his uncle convinced him to investigate his father's "murder". His uncle has a club foot. I want to say at one point they are in newgate prison towards the beginning. Just after he rescues her in the beginning they/he is arrested. Meg had a baby and that is how the story begins. The hero's father sees the newborn is disfigured and kills him and then turns to kill Meg.
If anyone knows this novel please let me know.
Thanks

Hi I'm new to this website. I'm looking for a young adult romance book about a girl that lives next door to a childhood friend. She was already friends with a boy and he later is killed. At first the girl and her new neighbor hate each other. Then they fall in love. He is then sent away to a military school or something after the girl is almost raped by one of her moms boyfriends. While he's away the girl is tricked by his did and he rapes her and tied her up. He's a judge. The boys mom is in a wheelchair. After she reports it she moves away and she works in a tattoo shop. Her boyfriend is a drug dealer or something and he's plotting to kill her. He hires the guy that was her childhood friend who is an undercover cop to kill her. Then they end up together. The author apparently based it off of actual events that happened to her. This was a great book and I have no clue what it's called or who wrote it. Can anyone help me?
Thank you!

Hey there!

I'm looking for two romance books that were published by either Harlequin or Mills & Boon.

Book 1)
The heroine was "dumped" by her husband after he came home to find her totally out of it in their bed room and everything seemed like she had been entertaining a lover as there were champagne glasses, the bed was messed up etc. I think it was the hero's brother or cousin or something like that who informed (and also who'd set up the charade) the husband to come home. The hero took their child (I think it's a young boy) with him to Italy (or Greece maybe?) but after a while had to bring his wife back because the baby was missing his mother too much. Then he's totally surprised because opposite to what he's been told by his brother, the heroine is a really good and caring mother etc.

EDIT: I found out the title of book #1! It's "The Italian Count's Command" by Sara Wood. I'm leaving this here for others who might eventually look for the book but not remember the title or author. :)

Another book I'm looking for this:
Book 2)
The heroine is used by the guy as a fake fiancé because his family keeps on pushing women onto him for marriage and he wants them off his back. So he makes the heroine act like his fiancé. But he wants her to act horribly so that his family will be glad, if he breaks it up and stays solo instead of having such an awful woman.I'm not sure anymore, if the woman was already in a relationship with the guy or if she was blackmailed into this farce but somewhere along the way, she finds herself deeply in love with her fake-fiancé and is depressed because she's basically eradicating her chance of a future in either case by dressing like a sl*t on family occassions etc in her "role".

I believe the books were published somewhen between 1990 and 2013.The first one had lots of red on the cover, if I'm not wrong. Both were not historical romances and I think they both involved foreign guy heros from Italy, Greece or Spain or something like that.

Newb here,
Looking to find a book I read 15+ years ago, Possibly in a Readers Digest condensed edition.
An arranged marriage, guy was rough, heroine was young and beautiful (I believe from the states). The h's mother advised her to never show passion in marital bed. I remember a scene after the consummation of the wedding, she cries and H smashes a glass. Think they were traveling on a train. The book had a happy ending. I've literally tried to remember/find the book for years. Thanks!

Hi everyone. I want to find this book I once saw in the library some 5 years ago, can't remember the title only the synopsis.

It was set in the Americas where the heroine was a slave or a prisoner of some sort of the Native Americans. (Anyways I think she was captured at a young age because she didn't know a word of English. Maybe) The hero bought her and then he married her. He consummated the marriage and took her to England and brought her in front of his father as a way of exacting revenge by not marrying someone of noble blood. And then he left England, meanwhile the hero's father took pity and trained his daughter in law on the ways of being a lady. The hero then returns some 5-6 years later and finds a different women i the form of his wife and he also ones out that he has twins.

If anyone has any idea about this book please do let me know. :)

The girl is a train robber in a gang made up of her family. She get caught by the sheriff who brings her in not knowing she is a woman because she always dressed like a young man. When he finds out he is a she, he know he can not punish her for the crimes with a hanging. So he brings her home and ends up sleeping with her. He feels so guilty that he slept with her when she was under his protection he need to marry her to make it right. But she refuses so he forced her with a shotgun wedding. As she becomes more and more part of the community she falls in love with her husband. But Thrn one of her brothers is caught (I think because they were attempting to save her) and he faces being hung for his crimes. Hi All,

Been looking for a particular book for years now & the annoyance of not finding out even the name of it is at epic proportions now😡!!!

I'm hoping someone can please help?!?!

The book is a Mills & Boons/Harlequin & it came out in the 80s, I thought it was by Anne Mather but I'm not so sure anymore.

It's about a guy who is in a relationship with a woman who he thinks is well experienced in playing around, not true she is love with him, but gives him what she thinks he wants, ie a mistress rather than permanency.

She introduces him to her identical twin the more homebody, introvert & he sees in her more the wife type & his mistress can see him visibly fall in love with her sister.

He marries the introverted twin & they are together for a number of years before she dies.

He meets his previous mistress, wife's twin, at the funeral & unbeknown to him when he left his heartbroken mistress to marry her twin, she was pregnant with his child.

The story continues from about there……I can't remember much more but would give an arm & a leg to read it again (probably won't live up to my imagination but I need to satisfy it nevertheless if possible).

Any help at all with this will be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks😃

A few different details (Like cousin not twin) but your description sounds like Smoke in the Wind by Robyn Donald. Ryan married Venetia's cousin Elizabeth:

Her response to him was frightening...

Venetia had felt desire before. The result? Such a disastrous marriage that she felt she wanted never to experience desire again. And she hadn't--until now.

Ryan Fraine, famous documentary filmmaker, was in New Zealand to set up a new television station. From the moment they met, Venetia, herself a TV reporter, knew this man could make her suffer as she never had before.

So she shied away from his blazing sensuality. Yet there was something else, something in the very core of her soul that wouldn't permit escape....

Hi! I really hope someone here can help me find this book, I've been hunting for nearly 10 years!
I don't know the title or author, but the book was about a girl (maybe 17?) who was "kidnapped" by her husband, whom she had been married to as a young girl. In the book her parents hate the husband, and her mom is always telling her how horrible married life is, and how awful sex will be.
The husband is a sailor, I think he was a captain. At one point in the book the girl sets a fire in the cabin because she thinks the grates are for a fireplace. It is a romantic novel.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Hi there!

I read a trilogy last year and i can't remember its name or the name of the first book.I would be really grateful if someone helps me to find the name of the book(trilogy) or the name of the author.

The book starts with the heroine meeting again with the hero after 4-5 years(he was in prison during this time). He thinks that she is guilty for putting him in jail and wants to get even. They sleep together(the heroine was a virgin),then he acts vengeful to her and leaves her ashamed.Later she realises that is pregnant and contacts the hero.He strongly refuses to recognise the child but deep down knows that is his child. Now he is engaged to another woman but neither of them love each other.Heroine gives birth to a healthy boy into the hero's house with the support of his mother and fiancee. She asks him if he wants to know the child but he strongly refuses and ejects her and the boy out his house.

In the second book he tries to reconnect with his son and the heroine and the story goes on.

Thank you for your attention!

I am so happy to find this! I am looking for the title of this historical regency romance novel that has been driving me insane for a year!!!!

Heroine loves Hero since she was a small girl. Hero is Heroines' brother's BF. Hero visits Heroine's brother's home. Heroine walks into Hero's room and he was undressed. He was expecting a courtesan paying him a visit, instead walks in the Heroine.

That is all I remembered.

Thanks!

Hey, I have this novel that I loved so much when I was younger. The cover was dark from what I recall. It started out talking about how cold it was and describing the setting in the middle of the night. Then the next thing I remember is the main female character and the main guy are on their way to her place to grab some of her stuff and her little brother so she can run away with him on a train to somewhere o believe in Russia. He ended up taking her virginity on the train. She stays with him with her brother. He calls her "Dushka." She gets pregnant and runs away from him with her brother and then gets kidnapped by men that take her to the dessert. Her captures gave her something to make her all lethargic and compliant to what they did. But her guy had come in time. But he had to watch them tease her but in the end somehow got her back. From what I perceived trains were still a new thing so this has to be set back over a hundred years.

Setting is in California vineyards. She got jilted by him because her dad asked him to. He's now wealthy, she now owns her family's vineyard but she thinks she will have to sell it. They reminisce about the past; nights where she would sneak up to his sleeping spot and they would make love. It's a short novel, contemporary. I remember the author describing her in her red sweater and pants.

Hi everyone, new to this site and this group. Hope someone can help.

Im looking for a harlequin/blaze/silhoutte book. Not sure when it was published. Maybe the 90's or 2000's.

The story is about 2 researchers at boston (mass gen maybe?). And the girl, a prodigy, is researching genetic diseases as her college friend died from one.. while the guy is from another depart and is a senator's son. Some one is trying to kill the girl and the guy steps in to help her out. There is a mystery involved, incest and secret parentage.. I basically remember the whole story except the name of the book or the characters.. Anyone ?

Hi, please I've been looking for this book for a couple of years now. It is a contemporary romance novel. I read it a long time ago but have no idea who wrote the book or what the characters name are. I originally got it as a free book on Kindle.

It's about a year rich heiress who persuades her male friend to become the star of a reality dating show in which she is somehow involve in (maybe produces?) By chance, she is forced to become a contestant on the show. I believe the guy already had a crush on her. She goes on to being in the final two with another woman who is nice and has a daughter but is still with her ex-boyfriend. The guy ends up choosing her and proposes to her and she accepts on autopilot because she believes she was his only choice since the other girls were useless. But the guy had actually fallen in love with her. But then I think that she gets kidnapped after they get off the show.

But then the novel has a HEA.
(It's possible that the girl might have been a redhead)

Any ideas or suggestions will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi! Looking for a regency romance trilogy book. It's about a child left at the three gentlemen's residency with only a note that says the child's father lives there. The three gentlemen then look for their past lovers whom they thought could be the child's mother. It was on the third book that the real father's identity was revealed. I remember a scene where the Hero at the third book locked up the heroine at the attic of the house or something like that. Thanks!

I read this excerpt some years ago at the back of a book and have been searching unsuccessfully to find the full romance book given that i dont remember the name of the excerpt. It was about a highland warrior presumed slain during war by his family but who had actually been injured in the war and imprisoned by the enemy. A mysterious veiled woman comes to the prison to look for a 'lover' to service her. The warrior hopes this time she would choose him as that would get him over the prison walls and give him a chance to escape. She does choose him and he awakens in a room to plot his escape. Meanwhile when the woman comes to him he realises that she seems afraid of him and is almost as much of a prisoner as he is.

All this happens in the first chapter or so.

if i remember correctly this was part of a series of historical romance books about a particular family of warriors and this man was one of the younger brothers. Any help finding the book would be appreciated as this has been driving me crazy! Thanks

Looking for a historical romance that I read over 20 years ago. Starts out with the woman giving birth to a still born baby that was conceived as a result of a cousin's raping her. She joins up with a caravan of travelers who are going west to settle. There is a couple and the woman gives birth and is very frail and ends up dying. The grieving father cannot console the baby and the woman (the heroine) nurses the baby and is able to care for him. After a while they fall in love but the cousin eventually finds the woman and tries to kill her but the hero saves the day (big surprise there). Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!!

#84 briana_dios,

Your description sounded familiar and I immediately thought of the J romance authors from the 90s (Judith McNaught, Jude Deveraux, Julie Garwood, Johanna Lindsey). Julie Garwood was the name that came to mind but I couldn't find a similar book by her. The closest I could find was "Prisoner of My Desire" by Johanna Lindsey. Hope it's a match.

Hi! :3
Reposting this again.. :D

Hi guys, I need some help.
I'm looking for a title of this awesome time travelling-ish book.
I'll list the parts I remember.

1. A girl visits her friend at this huge mansion that has this old timey theme
2. Her friend's maid or butler or gardener looks at her rather strangely
3. Her friend brought her to see the large garden at the back..
4. At night she went down and was sort pulled towards the garden
5. A huge storm happened and she passed out? (not quite sure)
6. She was in the early 1900's when electricity wasn't quite big or not invented yet
7. Her digital watch is still working though
8. (yada yada yada..) in the end, back to the present when her friend went upstairs to the attic, she found a portrait of ancestor which happens to look like the her friend who went missing holding the digital watch..

Does anyone know the name of this book?
Thanks in advance! :D

Hi all! Hoping someone, anyone could help me find the title of this book I've been looking for. It was only a preview at the end of an e-book I read, even the title of THAT book I forgot, hehe, so I can't go back to look for it.

Anyway the gist of what I can remember is that this couple are on their way to a wedding or are already there. The guy knows the bride (I think they're both doctors? I just know they're of the same profession), but is in a supposed committed relationship with his girlfriend who's sitting next to him.

Basically, the bride runs off with the guy after someone stops the wedding (I think it was the guy?), leaving her groom and his girlfriend at the ceremony. I think it's not long after that when the groom is pissed and wants to go after the runaway couple. He runs into the left-behind girlfriend who informs him that they probably went somewhere (can't remember) and she requests the groom to give her ex-beau a hell of a punch on her behalf.

And that's all I can remember! *tears* Every time I try to go back and look for it, no such luck and I just get frustrated. It's contemporary and I probably saw it about a year or two ago. Can't be older than that, I think? Hehe.

Will you be me savior?! Thank you :*

Hi, I'm looking for a book I read over 10 years ago. The heroine I believe holds up carriages (I think like a robin hood type thing). Her husband doesn't know at first but I think he suspects. He has a brother that's a pirate that heroine falls for too but it actually is her husband the whole time.
I think she loves her husband but they fight...I think.

I think she ends up in jail and had long beautiful hair that's cut short. I think she gets caught up in some plague and possibly had family that died.
Her husband saves her somehow...

Sorry that's all I can remember now.

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me, I'm looking for a book I read about 20 years ago.

The heroine was a servant girl.

The hero some kind of aristocrat that had martial arts training of some sort.

It was set in England, I'm not sure what time period, possibly Georgian

The plot is about how H was hiding in h room at night as he was trying to get evidence on her employer. She didn't know until one night I think he was injured and she discovered him in her room. During daylight hours H was at her employers house either doing business deals or hanging out as the rich do!

I can't remember how it finished I just know that H and h got together in the end.

Anyone know this book?

Thanks

I was hoping someone can help be find a book. I don't remember the title or author. I believe it had multiple authors. It was a historical Christian romance type book. It consisted of three romance stories but the stories were linked by characters (family members friends).

The cover was purple it had a brunette or black haired lady in a gown on the front. I can't remember the color of the gown. It also had a ferry boat in the background I believe.

The first story was about a woman who was on a ferry boat on a river somewhere in the US. She was with a man she was trying to get away from. Something about gambling and poker. Somehow the ferry got into a accident (fire) I think. She ends up in the water and was saved by the male lead character. I believe he was a preacher or becomes a preacher. She ends up staying in a café boarding house type place to work and earn. Money. She ends up falling in love with the man that saved her and marries him. His name might be Jacob or Sam Maybe not.

I have been trying to figure out what book this is for months now. Hopefully someone here recognizes it.

Book was written in the 90's or early 2000's.

Historical romance, set in England.

I think the hero and heroine first meet when he sees her changing in the stable at some kind of race event, and he mistakes her for a prostitute (as abother gentleman had told him their was a prostitute in the stable).

I remember him calling her breasts peaches, and that comes up a lot throughout.

I believe she was changing in the stable because she had been dressed like a boy. (Possibly as a rider?).

I believe after this she is horrified, and they don't see each other for a long period of time after.

Hopefully this jars someone's memories. I lost my entire collection of novels, and now I am trying to figure out what all I lost.

Thanks!

Hi everyone! I'm looking for help finding a book. It's a contemporary romance. I'm pretty sure it was published within the last 5 years. It is about a women who returns to her hometown after being sent away as a pregnant teenager by religious parents. She is sent away on the same night that her high school boyfriend dies in a drunk driving accident. He was a popular high school athlete. She returns home after her father dies and her mother gives her the house. She's a hairdresser. I think her child, a son, is now elementary school age. The house is right across the street from the house of her son's father's family. His parents and brother don't know about the child. The brother now runs the family construction business. She runs into the brother and they have an instant connection. I think his name might have started with a D? She tells him about his nephew and he starts babysitting the kid while she works to get to know him. They end up falling in love. I believe this book was part of a series about the guy and his friends.

Sorry if it's kind of a disjointed summary. I was just trying to remember everything I could as I wrote. Thanks in advance for your help :)

Please help find a historical romance novel set in England.

The hero had a club/hotel/gambling house. Was attacked one night and scared in the face by men sent by his married ex lover.

But was saved by the heroine who was a writer writing under a pseudonym.

He later fell in love with her though he had a hard time convincing himself of that as he felt he was too much of a sinner and not good enough for her.

Later married her. His night club was burnt and his wife kidnapped also by his ex lover.

In the end they had a daughter.

Would be very grateful for help with the title and name of the novel.

hey,
I am new to this and I'm searching for this book for a while now. Its a contemporary romance. The heroine is house sitting for her best friend. I'm pretty sure it's in Texas. Oh! The first scene is how the hero sees the heroine walking while dragging a pink suitcase, she drops her doll / teddy bear and he calls out for her, chases her to return it. Her profession is something like doing a 3D hologram of architectural or construction blue prints. The hero's brother/best friend asks her help and the location they're interested in is sold to the competitor. The brother/best friend suspects the heroine of betrayal, yells at the heroine and chases her away. The hero finds her at the site.. (She wanted to make it into a village?) it's about to be demolished.. tearful reunion.. happily ever after..

That's all i remember. sorry if it's a bit vague..
Thank you very much in advance!!

Hey all, I am looking for a book I read a while back. It takes place during the French Revolution. It is part of a series of books about three siblings two girls and a boy. In the first book the eldest sister agrees to be the mistress of a French official in order to give her brother and sister safe passage to England. The French official is a bad guy but his brother possibly a twin delays him and takes his place. The heroine ends up falling in love with the brother. Eventually the bad brother returns and is put into prison. The heroine tries to tell him that she loves him but it is the wrong brother, she may also be pregnant.

I am helping my Mother find a book. She doesn't know the author or main characters name. Here is the information I got from her: 2 twin sisters are separated by their father, one is raised with money, the other is not. One sees the other on a ship/boat and decides to join the voyage. One of the sisters finds love on the boat. Time period is somewhere when long dresses are required. She first read it before 2003 so it may be out of print. The cover has a girl in the front and a ship/boat in the background.

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows of the following historical romance book. Read it as an ebook within the past four years. The only thing I remember clearly are the supporting characters (who sometimes have the POV). The h is friends with a married lady (a duchess?), and the married lady keeps trying to play matchmaker between the h and H. The lady's husband (a duke?) disapproves of the friendship between the h and his wife (the h is a bit of a hoyden, I think) and either doesn't give his wife the letters that her friend sends, or doesn't mail out the letters that his wife writes to her friend. The wife finds out and is not happy. I'm pretty sure the wife is pregnant. Also, there's a masquerade ball. Before it occurs, there's a scene where the wife is getting ready. She is going dressed as a cat, and has a "cat" collar that her husband gave to her as a gift for the costume (he had his first initial engraved on the jewelry). Sorry that I don't remember more. Any help that someone could provide would be great, this has been driving me crazy for a while.
Thanks!

Hey, I am looking for a historical book set in England I read about five years ago ( live or take a couple of years). I'm pretty sure it is a book in a family series (like the Bridgertons or something). Anyway the hero inherited his title with a bunch of debt and has been working hard to make himself financially sound again. He finally works of all his debt and goes out drinking to celebrate. He comes home drunk and the heroine is waiting for him. She has noticed that he is not doing well financially (his sister and mother wear remade gowns and such) despite his efforts to hide that fact. She wants to get married (in the previous book in the series her sister, who may also be her twin, got married and now the heroine is lonely). She proposes to the hero so she can get married and he can have her large dowry (even though he no longer needs it but she doesn't know that). He accepts her proposal while drunk but not for her money but because he loves her. I don't really remember the rest of the book unfortunately. I do feel like the hero is name Lucien or something like that. Thanks for all the help you can offer!

10. (Add on a new info i manage to piece together) when she woke up from the storm, she was suddenly ushered by the servants of the house because she was the lady (apparently) she was married..
11. She also was surprised when preparing for a party, her servant brought over hot metal rods that are heated via hot coals, were used to curl her hair and she was amused when she realise electricity isn't invented yet..
12. The servant boy who helped her during her life is her friend's current old butler or groundskeeper..

Book 2#
This is pretty vague because i only remembered one part
Set in the era where women wear several layers of clothing - petticoats, layers of skirts and those net things that make the dresses stay round..
1. 2 people who hate each other
2. They got engaged but loathed each other
3. She pissed him off, he said she's not a virgin
4. He tried to prove it, slipped his hand into under her clothes
5. Lo and behold she is a virgin but he was turned on
6. They end up having sex and hid behind a closet.. She enjoys it but pretended not to.
7. They fell in love and got married..

I don't know if you'll find the second book but the first one is the one i would love to find..

Hope someone can help! Looking for a book I read as a teenager. What I remember is that the setting was either American or English horse racing. I think there were two books, maybe three.

The heroine lives w her mother or care taker, where no one wants her. For some reason she is swept of her feet by a handsome aristocrat, who owns a stable. He dies fairly early on when he falls off a horse while they are riding together. Or maybe she dropped something like her engagement ring and he looks for it, but dies when horse kicks him. She eventually assumes command of the stables and racing business, though throughout the book she faces financial ruin, injured horses or jockeys, etc.

Help! I can't find this book and it's driving me crazy.

Romance set in medieval times. She didn't want to get married, I think he takes over the castle or it's given to him or something. They break the bed, I think on their wedding night. It's a pretty creaky old bed. He carves her a new one and it's huge. I believe the epilogue ends stating the bed was too big to move and stayed in that castle for hundreds of years or something like that.

I thought it was the Bride Bed by Linda Needham, but apparently not.

What is this book?!?

- Its a regency type romance
- Girl attempts to fake injury by digging hole and claiming a twisted ankle
- Is found by guy (possibly friend of her brother) who sees through her ploy
- Guy accidentally steps in hole twisting own ankle
- Guy's butler/valet accidentally stabs him trying to cut boot off injured ankle
- Butler sends note to girl who comes with mother after guy develops infection
- Girl and mother tend to infection
- May be related to Mallorens, Cynsters, or Bridgertons series

Hello y'all,
I've just joined and I hope you can help me because my searches of not worked. The first book is a western. It might have been an anthology. The story I remember is about a sheriff who wins an amesiac women in a poker game. He doesn't want her but she follows him home.

The next two are set in England during, I think 1800's. One is about a lady who returns from a school for governess's and plans to marry the youngest brother of the manor. The oldest brother tries to detract her but ends up compromising her. She takes off. Which makes her father, the gardener, mad.

The last one is a woman's son returns home. He was kidnapped and raised in the desert by a bedouin chief. A young woman is hired to teach him etiquette and respectable behavior. He has 2 children and they eventually get married. I hope someone knows these books because I would love to reread them. Thank you.

Hey y'all,
I'm looking for a historical romance:

- regency/victorian era
- set in Paris, but all the main characters are english
- the hero is a Marquiss/Count/Duke in exile after a duel (?)
- he hosts orgies in his estate
- his heir (cousin) is a doctor
- the heroine is the daughter of impoverished nobility with no means to return to England
- I think her father died and left them in debt
- I can't remember how the couple met (I think she was forced to go to one of his parties and escaped, but it's really fuzzy)
- the hero takes interest in her and tries to bribe her to be his mistress, while the doctor offers her marriage

And that's all I can remember. If anyone has suggestions it would be great. Thank you.

Hi everyone... I'm looking for a book I read years ago. Any help is truly appreciated!

When I read it: late 1990's - 2009

Time setting: Contemporary
Book type: Category romance
Theme: Opposites attract

Hero: adventurous, outgoing firefighter (possibly named Zach) who at the heart of it is self absorbed and immature)

Heroine: shy, timid waitress at a diner who is also studying to be an accountant

What I remember of the plot:

1. Heroine works at a diner where all the local firefighters come in to eat. She thinks hero is handsome but out of her league. Hero flirts and thinks she's sweet but there's no big "pow" she's hot feeling.

2. On her way home from work her car breaks down and hero comes along to help her. (She has a leftover pot of coffee in her car from the diner that she was going to reheat in the morning - I have no why I remember that detail)

3. He helps her out and follows her home. He asks her out. Despite thinking he's just being nice she accepts.

4. Friends and workmates find out that they're going to go out - everyone is really a. Surprised and b. Sure that it's a bad idea. It makes him more stubborn and her insulted in a timid way.

After that the details get more blurry so the following events may not be in the right order or I may have some details wrong.

- they go to a ball game and then to a get together with the other firefighters. Hero's determined to "fix" her timidness including pushing her boundaries when she scared of a dog. Another firefighter doesn't like what he's doing and tells him to ease off.

- I don't think he intended to follow up with a second date but either does because when he's asked by a firefighter at the diner if it's okay if the other firefighter he goes all "wait you mean someone else is interested in her!!"

- they start dating. He throws a tantrum when she refuses to postpone her studies to hang out with him.

- He continues to try to push her out of her comfort zone with activities. I think he takes her mountain bike riding and she gets injured.

The big conflict:

- he's out quad biking with fellow firefighters and one gets injured possibly paralysed.

- he goes on a big guilt trip and pushes her away.

- she has to go up to a cabin to tell him to grow the hell up and get over himself.

And they lived happily ever after.

-------------------

Any help you can give would be really appreciated. I pretty much can remember every book I've read so for me to forget this one is driving me nuts!

Hi everyone!
So there are two books I'm looking for. I read them both probably 12 years ago.
The first one is about neighbors. She's an introverted accountant that works from home. He just moved next door with his two young kids, he's a teacher. It's set in Texas and I'm pretty sure his name is Tucker. In the need they live happily ever after, they get married and she's pregnant with triplets.

The second one is about a female during the old west that wants to become sheriff of her town. She doesn't wear dresses, knows how to shoot a gun. The guy in the book comes into town on business, thy wind up spending a night in a cave I believe. Towards the end of the story they're in a hotel room and then one of her brothers busts in on them. I can't remember anyone's name in this book.

Thanks for any help at all!

I am trying to remember the author of a series of Historical Fiction books. Basically the plot is a lot like Three Men and a Baby. In the first book, a woman shows up to where some bachelors live, pretending to be the mother of a little girl. In reality she is the little girls' governess. As the series progresses each of the bachelors find love and the little girl grows up and marries well with all of the men and their families present.

Thank you for any help.

Seeking three books:

Book 1:
Historical, set in American west.
Married woman, with red hair I think, falls on a rock and hits her head. She forgets who she is.
Found by Half-Breed (I think)
Ends up married to him and they have a child.
Her white husband finds her and takes her and the child.
Ends up back with Half-breed.

Book 2:
Historical, set in America I think around the time of the civil war.
Woman falls in love and pregnant.
Her lover is called away to war.
She married another man to pass off pregnancy as his.
Over the course of her life she runs into her first lover and has more children.
I think she runs into him in France at least once.
She still loves her original lover and doesn't respect her husband for a while.
Her maid or housekeeper is the only other person who knows.
I think her lover's name is Daniel.
Just when you think she is going to run away with him she chooses her husband and later finds out her lover has been killed.

Book 3:
Very old historical, possibly pre regency.
Woman, I think her name has something to do with Flame or Fortune
The only scene I really remember from this book is when she is held captive and raped and feels guilty because her body responds to the rape in front of her daughter (?)
I think her husband is away and she ends up at court and possibly has multiple lovers wile waiting for him.
Possibly a sequel to another book.
I don't think it is The Flame and the Flower by Katherine Woodiwiss

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking for a book and I don't have much detail. I found it on audible, thought I had saved it sometime in the last year and now I can't find it.

I think its a historical romance novel, I think its held in England. There is a woman who is for some reason I can't remember in a man's chambers or bedroom. I'm pretty sure the man is supposed to be an Earl, Duke or something like that but I'm not sure. He brings another woman to his room to seduce her, he doesn't know that the other woman is in there already. He doesn't expect her to be there. She tries to hide, I think behind the curtains. Well she gets caught and the man at some point and time in the book decides that he is going to try to seduce her. I'm not sure when it was released on Audible or when it was written.

Hope someone can help, thanks.

Does anone recall a book about two sisters, one is sort of slutty, and the other is trying to save their home. Well a guy comes along and a terrible storm has forced him to stay in the home where the older, prude sister falls for him. She also made two dresses. One for herself that is modest and one for her sister that is revealing. The slutty sister takes the wrong dress on purpose to try and steal the man leaving the prude with the revealing dress that drives the guy crazy. She ends up losing the house and becomes a carpenter building her dream house for some guy she never met. It turns out to be the guy and he gives her the house for making her lose the other one.

I read this book about 15 years ago. I think it was a zebra historical romance. I'm pretty sure the husbands name was Hunter and the wife Caroline. He has a mistress Jessica rutledge and she becomes pregnant. Caroline can no longer have children. She and Hunter have been married for a long time and he's become a real jerk. He wants to sell her family plantation and she refuses. Her grandfather or father use to have a band of Pirates and Caroline contacts them to help her get some treasure to save the plabtation. "Caroline's fancy" may have been the name of the plantation or ship. Is this familiar to anyone. Thanks

Hi, the group chat is great!!!

I'm looking for a western romance novel that I read about 2-3 years ago. I can't remember the title or the author!

It is a very funny novel with the hero being wrongly jailed and is awaiting hanging. He escapes from there along with the heroine ( can't remember why she's there at the sheriff's office - something about she making a lot of commotion over not finding her family or fiancé) and travels across the country to proof his innocence. They are handcuffed together when they escape.

The heroine offers to pay him I think to accompany her to somewhere along his journey.. ( to her family or fiancé?) Their travel together is very funny and entertaining..

A few details that I remember:

Heroine when escaping wear a hat with feathers and looks ridiculous
Heroine is short?
She has long hair that is cut along the way to disguise her as a male
She falls ill during the journey and hero takes care of her
Hero had lost a lot of weight in jail so is actually very weak at time of escape - but builds his strength over time during the travel
Hero is actually very experienced with plant medicine and outdoor living
He has a beard, long hair and his also unclean.
They actually hate each other and cannot wait to part.
As they travel along, they see wanted posters in other cities of them - the heroine is drawn as a old lady with a tooth missing?

As they both are handcuffed together, everything is difficult! Lol and that accounts for most of the funny 'bits' in the novel

There is an incident where they work together ( because of the handcuffs to raid a store / house for food and it is hilarious. I remember reading this when in public and I was laughing out aloud!

I can't remember the ending although of course they would have up together. She was either mail order bride looking for her husband to be or was already engaged.. But of course that is ended.

It is something similar to 'the scent of jasmine' by Jude Deveraux but a lot more entertaining and interesting.

If anyone remembers the title, please let me know. Thanks!

Hey all,

I'm looking for a book I read around 15 years ago. I've been searching for this for years but I can't remember the title or the author. Although I think the author's surname may be towards the end of the alphabet

It was a gothic novel set around the industrial revolution (I think). The heroine is a mousey heiress called Jane (I think) who suffers from frequent headaches. She has a more vivacious friend called Jacintha or something like that she's wildly jealous of her. Her uncle is rich businessman and her cousin is trying to incite revolution against the mill owners but spends most of his time drinking and flirting with her friend. He's also really hot and cold with the pain character. Anyway it turns out she suffers from multiple personality and she is her glamourous friend. Her nefarious uncle is trying to kill her for her inheritance and sets the library on fire.

It was wildly unrealistic but so much fun and I really want to read it again. If anybody remembers this please let me know,

thanks.

Hi, I'm looking for a book that is part of a series revolving around mafia organisation.
The hero is part of special op and he's investigating a case where his deceased best friend turns out to be a mole in the op and worked for the mafia. The investigation required him to be close again to his deceased best friend's widow, who once was his girlfriend before she married his best friend after they broke up. The mafia threatened her life so they are force to hide in the mountain, kinda like the witness protection program with guard stationed there. Then he found out that actually the deceased best friend (let's called him X) was always envy of him on everything, which was the reason X married the heroine but never loving her. She opened up to him and they get back together and work on to figure out where did X hide all the information that the mafia wanted. Lastly, she recalled that X truly took pride on the car that the hero and X remodeled together. He figured that X must have hide the information device there and found it in hide inside the seat cushion.

If anyone knows the title, please please let me know. With lots of thanks..

Hi, I've been looking for this book for a long time. I cannot remember the title or author of the book, but here is what I remember of the plot.

The book takes place in medieval England. Heroine is a merchant's daughter. The heroine is rescued by a knight, who is not attracted to her, but to her sister. The knight and the sister arrange a tryst and at the last minute the sister decides to marry the man her father wants her to marry and sends the heroine off to tell the knight. The knight mistakes the heroine for the sister in the darkness and "kidnaps" her. They are forced to marry to avoid a riot or some other trouble. He treats her badly and there is no love in the marriage. Enter the hero, who is a knight, but who is somehow forced into disguise as a merchant or some other profession. He met the heroine through her father b4 the marriage and is attracted to her. I think his name is something like "Black ????". Here is where my memory starts to fail me. There is some danger, like an insurrection and the sister comes to the heroine for protection,
they go to an abbey, but the sister runs off and is killed. The heroine ends up prostituting herself to the sister's husband for some reason and the hero finds out.... it does end up with the knight dying and the hero and heroine marrying, but this might not have been marketed as a romance.
I read this several years ago (about 15) and it was a hardback book.

If anyone recognizes it and knows the title and/or author I would appreciate any information. I have been trying to find it for some time now.

3. In a world where crystal/glass orb/balls reveal people’s gifts, a girl drops hers and has to live her life gathering shards or pieces of paper that teach her things. She had the gift of a green thumb. (preteen to teen)

4. A group of teenagers are chosen to be avatars of ancient gods and are fated to battle. (Teen+)

I'm looking for a Harlequin from the 1990's. I only recall the vaguest of details...The hero is a military pilot and the story is about a son he didn't know existed, I think, there's definitely a young son in the story. The hero really likes Walt Whitman poetry and he had a brother that died. Any takers?

Hoping someone can help. I am looking for a book, I believe it is a Harlequin, possibly special edition. It had to be published in the 1990s. It is a contemporary book NOT a historical romance. It is about a judge (I think his name is Mason Blackstone or Blackburn or something like that, but I do not remember for sure) who is a warlock who has an arranged marriage to a social worker who is a witch. Apparently their "kind" has had some sort of fertility issues so once they are determined to be fertile as teenagers, marriages are arranged for them.

Looking for a really vintage Mills and Boon book I read in the late 70s or early 80s. Heroine was abused by her husband who is now dead, but her husband's brother or stepbrother or half-brother hates her because they had a strong attraction to each other when heroine was still married. She kept her husband's abusiveness a secret from the hero, but one night when heroine got caught in a blizzard, the hero rescues her and while she was delirious, hero finds out what heroine's life was really like married to the abusive husband. I forgot the author but would like to read it again.

Trying to find a paranormal romance. I can't remember much so any help is awesome. I remember the hero is a shifter, I believe the heroine was, too. He was some kind of cat, her too I believe. They are at some gathering at a resort/hotel type place. There are many paranormals there. I remember them being warned about not being too obvious to the non-paranormal guests. The biggest part remember is he would lurk in the woods around the resort/hotel and she would see him. I know this one is very vague, sorry. TIA.

Hi new here. I joined as this book I read a few years ago can't get out of my mind but I can't recall author or title. It's driving me a little crazy. I do remember the plot well though as I found both protagonists unique. It is a historical romance. This is probably an older novel as I remember the cover looking worn out, but honestly have no clue when it was published.

The heroine has a younger sister who is very pretty. They are poor and both parents are dead. I believe their mother may have work as a prostitute and was an alcoholic but not too sure about that detail. The hero is this rich guy; don't remember if he was titled or not, and was well known for his debauchery lifestyle. He was essentially holding orgies at his place practically every night and was increasingly finding it too mundane. He encounters the two sisters when I believe he almost runs them over with his carriage. Although he is slightly interested in the pretty younger sister, he is more interested in our heroine. As he said he is used to the innocent and naive virgin and had more then his fair share of pretty women and was more interested in the older sister who seem jaded and will give him more of a challenge. The heroine knowing his notorious lifestyle is afraid that he is trying to go after her younger sister and is very protective of her. The hero uses this to get her to be with him which she accepts. You learn that she is okay with this as when she was a preteen her mother sold her to this rich bastard who would only sleeps with virgins; the reason being he contracted std from a prostitute once. That guy actually wanted the younger pretty sister, but was refused by the mother as the sister was too pretty to be wasted on that. She returned to her family after the guy became bored of her and the younger sister never knew this happened to her older sister as some sort of excuse was given to explain why she was gone. Because of this the heroine don't see herself as clean and virtuous and all to willing to help preserve her younger sister's innocent. There was side plot romance between the younger sister and I believe servant or right hand man of the hero.

Its a Harlequin romance book. The heroine is a teacher I think or tutor or something. The book is set in America in new England area.

What I remember is the h is angry with the H because she believes he cut her dress straps at their prom. She's a little top heavy and didn't wear a bra that night because the dress has spaghetti straps.

Hero's last name is brown. He has a few kids, two I think and she's like a live in Nanny. She's coerced into helping him with his kids. The kids like her after a bit and so does Mr brown. He some how breaks his leg ice skating. h takes care of him but some guy threatened him or h and its around Christmas ,not sure. Asks son to get his water pistol he got for a present since it looks real. H shoots silver prize cup on top of mantle causing it to go inside the fire place.

Bad guy gets caught and H some how breaks his other leg and tells h to come over to him. She teases him about his legs and getting nursed. He says don't need legs when everything above waist works fine while putting her on his lap.

Been searching please help, thanks.

Hello! I've been looking for an oldskool Harlequin or Mills and Boons book.

The setting is in the 50s or 60s. Not sure if she is in America or London. A rich girl (heiress) runs away from home. She masquerades as a servant in a rich guys home.

I know this storyline is pretty common but I found it in my grandmas dusty romance stash in the 80s and it has those line drawing covers that the old 50s and 60s romances had.
(Also, it is not Roberta Leigh, i know this is her specialty.) The cover has a girl, in a convertible and the face of the guy.

It's driving me crazy that I still remember this novel but cant find it - i think i was 10 when I read this.

Reposting.....still have not found this, any help is much appreciated!
Thanks for helping me!

More details:
I read it in 1996, so set in the late 80s or 90s. Perhaps a harlequin.

It was set on a Texas ranch, hero also had an offshore oil rig that was being sabotaged. The investigation was carried out by the heros friend (Andrew?)
It opens with the hero walking into the heroine's ranch and finds her dressed in dungaries and left in a debt after her father dies, forcing her to sell the ranch.he proposes before he can think. And she accepts because she loved him since childhood...they were neighbours, (she chewed her pigtails when upset??)
.he has an older brother.
At one point she has to arrange some charity ball at the ranch.
They have a group of friends, one couple owns a security firm, and they arevboth great with susyems. one of the girls (heros sister??) is married to an artistvanf they have triplets.
On a trip to his oil rig, the hero's helicopter is sabotaged and it crashes into the water. Later he describes the sharks and piranhas to tease her and she almost faints before he tells her hes joking.
The book was funny and the heroine was witty.
some of the things I remember that at the end are the artist taking care of his triplets and making up with his wife, who had left him for a while , the guy owning the security firm calls his wife 'mouse', when she hides under the table, because she was faking break-ins.
I hope someone can help me based on this!
I can remember some parts so clearly, but can't find the name! Its Driving me crazy!

Hi, been looking for this one for quite some time now...

It's a story about a 15 year old, poor girl with an extremely abusive father and so naive that she still thought babies came out of the sky. The setting is contemporary. The girl and her father lived in a house that was owned by the hero's family (ultra handsome, ultra rich, really spoiled guy). So the hero was 25 at that time...
The h is off to take her bath in a lake that is near her house. This is where the hero sees her. Their interlude begins etc...

I have been going crazy trying to remember this book I read years ago. It was an old book that I had randomly found and fell in love with. I'm craving to reread it. The details are hazy so I'll do my best describing it-

It was about this independent woman. Her mother died in childbirth so her Dad raised her. I think her Dad named her after her mother... Anyway when she was older she married this man who ended up being abusive. She had 3 kids with him and then left him. She was living on some womans property who was helping her out... At some point she borrowed money from her boss so she could buy this Apartment building. She was the landlord and lived there as well... Some guy from the military (army I think...) ended up moving into one of the rooms in her building and she was sleeping with him. I think he was married and was living there temporarily. At some point he left for the war...

When her ex husband died she took her oldest to the funeral since it was his dad. It turns out he married the owner of a whore house? They didn't stay long and ended up leaving the funeral at the very beginning. Her son ended up disappearing and he joined the Navy despite being under 18.

I think she moved to New York too... she did some kind of work there I think... Her son contacted her and she sent him money to take a train to her but he never did. Her son had gotten mad drunk and destroyed a bar. Eventually she ended up in California and had a interior design business (I think? ah this sucks) she had found the love of her life and was really happy at this point.

I remember her oldest daughter tried to seduce her husband when she was older living in California and he rejected her... and then through some freak assault that daughter killed her husband. At the end of the book she was really old and couldn't talk or do anything...

I don't know if this will actually help. I had to at least try :(

Could someone help with the author or title of the below book. Read in sometime back as part of ebook in flipkart books.

A lady is there to attend a ball. Her husband is also present there. It seems the lady was staying somewhere away from London (most probably), but now she is back in London. She has a sister who has lots of kids. She herself cannot have a child I think. She meets two urchins on the streets one day and takes them home. The she and her husband go to a far away place and start staying there with these kids. There are highway man on the roads and they need to bypass them. The lady and her husband go in first. The kids arrive after few days. They hire a maid to take care of the children to teach them. They have a garden in their house. I think the girl was also molested when she was a child.

The book is one of a series. Each book has a main character. Any idea about the book or the author name?

*****************************************

Hi! I'm new to this site so I'm super glad to have found this thread. I've been trying to remember a romance book I read about 3 years ago or so. Here's some details of what I remember:

Genre: Contemporary, set in America

Details:
- Book starts with the bride running out of the church on her wedding day as she found her groom cheating on her. And it turns out that her father offered him some sort of promotion in his company for the groom to marry her

- Bride jumps into her car and drives away but is stranded in the middle of nowhere as her car runs out of fuel. A good guy ends up helping her out by driving her to the local garage which can only fix it in a couple of days. The guy is from the local town and has something to do with mining as part of his business

- At a service station, she ends up swapping her wedding dress with a local girl (who's about to be married) for her "normal" clothes.

- rest of the story is that she and the guy pretend to be engaged to prevent people (guy's family, press, local town) from thinking she's been kidnapped.

- the previous groom and arrives in town with her family, trying to convince her to marry him again but it doesn't work. He hatches a plan with a girl (who wants the pretend fiancé)to get them both but it doesn't work out.

- in the end they end up marrying for real (I think)

That's pretty much all I remember (I think). I'm hoping it'll jog a memory for one of you!

Thanks for your help in advance :)

I started reading a book I borrowed from a friend but had to return it before I could finish and I can't remember the book. It took place in medieval period, where the heroine's step brother was the head of the household and he had a sorcerer with a twisted hand. Step brother was going to give the heroine's younger sister to the sorcerer as a wife and the heroine went to the sorcerer to offer herself to him instead of the sister. Hey I'm new here! So I have a book I've been wanting to read but I can't remember the title. It was about a man who went to war and came back 5 years later and his wife was getting married because she thought he was dead. He's scarred and I think and he looks like an older man because his hair is all grown out. he gets there in time to stop the wedding and I think he carries her out that's pretty much all I can remember except I'm also pretty sure her name is Grace and it's it's a historical romance book.

Hi!! Does anyone have any clue about a book where: a girl goes on a vacation with her friend, to a friend(more like her friend's friend)'s house, which happens to be on an island, not unlike... I don't know, Long Island? Anyway. This guy is quite a bit older than her, and is a photographer. They develop a romance, and he takes nude photos of her, and eventually, her parents find these photos, and threaten to disown her. Can't remember the rest of the story. It's set in modern-day.

157 - It could be 'Strangers When We Met' by Rebecca Winters. Or 'Twice Loved' by LaVryle Spencer (he's a sailor, not a soldier, though). Or 'Morgan's Child' by Anne Mather. Or 'The Brigadier's Runaway Bride' by Erica Ridley. There are plenty of books under this topics, but unfortunately I don't recall any with a female protagonist named Grace. Sorry!

HELP PLEASE
I do not remember when it was written or the author or the title. It is about a boy (or an young adult) who goes back his village where there is a village of indegenous people. He befriends a Native boy of his age and they spend time boating. He gets a camera as a gift, and the two boys use that to take a snap of two thieves. There is also a dispute over the area of land of the villagers and a legal dispute about the land not being theirs. So, one fine morning the boy wakes up and sees that the entire Native settlement has moved away along with his friends, without a trace. Its a novel for young readers as far as I remember. Please help.

Hi all. Looking for a book apologize if it has been described before.

Maybe from the 90-2000 range. Unsure.

Takes place in Australia. A lady sees a man sleeping on a bench in the botanical gardens. She thinks he is homeless but he is actually a retired "footballer". She eventually mistakes him for a gigolo and hires him to be her boyfriend. She even takes him to her parents house to meet them.

That is all I can remember. Thanks for any help!

I am looking for an old one. I think I read it, when I was in my teens, maybe 15 or 16. So 20+ years ago. I remember it quite vividly as I think it was the first time I read a romance where the H wasn't a millionaire or a doctor or businessman. He was a truck driver!

H is a truck driver, he picks up h on a sideroad, thinking she is a runaway teen. She is in labour. He delivers the baby in the cab of his truck and take them both home. Baby sleeps in a drawer from his dresser, with one of his sweaters as a blanket. He lets them stay and he goes back on the road. Baby wont stop crying until he comes back home.

She is on the run from abusive older ex. Ex won her in a poker game from her alcoholic father. Ex name is Jonas. I don't remember the names of H or h.

There is some kind of confrontation with ex, who is sterile or impotent (?) and had h artificially inseminated. Baby looks a lot like H and H implies it's his.

Pretty sure the trick is brand new - he is worried about the upholstery with the birth and all - and that he has saved for ages to buy it. He lives above or near the pub / bar / restaurant where the confrontation with the evil ex takes place.

Anyone know this?

Hello everyone!

I am looking for the title of a book that I read a few years ago, lent to a friend and never got it back.

The plot is set in Scotland. The female lead is penniless as well as the male lead. The male lead sends out invitations to all nobility because he is looking for a bride who can run his castle and who has money. The female shows up knowing she wont be picked but that it is one week her and her father will be fed at someone else expense. When all the women are there they each take turns with running the staff and planning the evening meal, (One girl makes swan, which is really expensive) Anyway, if this plot sound familiar please let me know, I loved this book and would like to know the title, thank you!

I am trying to find the title of a historical romance book I read about 6 years ago I can't remember the title or author or any of the character names.
The hero is out riding when a storm comes and he seeks shelter with the heroines family. The hero fell in love with the heroines younger sister and asked to marry her but their father refused and insisted the heroine had to marry first because she was the oldest. The heroine and her father end up tricking the hero into marrying her. At the end of the book the sister that the hero originally wanted to marry tries to push the heroine off a cliff so she can marry the hero. Their younger sister tries to intervene and it ends up where the sister that tries to kill the heroine falls off the cliff instead.
If you have any idea of the title please let me know I have been wanting to read it again for a while. Thank you.

Read this book in the 80s. There was a bookstore where my mother used to exchange romance novels by the milkcrate! Wish it still existed, desperate to find.

Historical romance: Hero is betrothed to sickly girl, who he genuinely likes, but runs into heroine. It may have been during her debut in the ton. He is also a spy or trying to solve some plot. In one part of the book they actually hide behind a bookcase while someone is looking through a room or having some secret conversation. In the end the heroine is pregnant and is shipped away to be kept safe and I believe the sickly girl dies of her ailment.

Hi all!

I am looking for the name of a book I read probably sometime before 2000. It was one of my mother's romance novels and it reminds me a lot of the movie Kate & Leopold. There is a man that comes to the present time from the past, I believe he is a soldier. The girl's dad collects swords from the time period he is from. I am not certain but I believe this all takes place in the southern United States. She falls in love with him but realizes that he would not be able to live in the present so she opts to go back to his time with him. She ends up being her own ancestor and leaves the one sword her dad needed to complete his collection buried under a tree for him to find. With the sword is a note about her and the children she had after she went back in time with the soldier she fell in love with.

Any ideas?

I'm looking for a trilogy I'd read years ago. The genre is paranormal.

In the first book the female main character was caught cheating at the male main character's casino. The female has the power to predict any numbers and the male controls fire.

The second book is about his brother who controls lightning. And the third is about their sister who is telepathic.

Hi everyone! Reposting to see if anyone can help! I must have read this book around 17 years ago, so it's at least as old as that, if not more.

Hi! I'm New here and I have had these books on my mind for several years and ive tried to find them on the internet with no luck. So I hope you can help me.

I Think its harlequin or maybe mills and boon. I dont remember which year it came out but i would guess like 2005-ish. Maybe a little after.

Its a contemporary one. Its a series with 4 books. Ive read three of them.

The first one starts with 4 friends in an apartment. They are getting ready for a party. A masquarade which one of the women is throwing. Sabrina is rich and she has just made a documentary about sex. Done interviews and put it together. There is a book about her when she does the documentary and she ends up falling in love with a greek man I Think.

But this book with the party is about a red head. Crazy red hair. She goes to the masquarade as a dominatrix. The total opposite to her normal self. There she meets a guy named Ty Ramsay. He is sabrinas cousin. He is in disguise since he is a big movie star. They hit it of but she leaves the party and go get in touch with her he asks Sabrina for her number.

The red head has a sister named amber that owns a company för cleaning or assistants or something like that. So the red head becomes Ty's assistant

I would apriciate it soo much if anyone can point me in the right direction.

Its been a while maybe a year or two since i have read it. i don't remember the title: it was an ebook.

The heroine is a social worker (i believe) who meets this man. The hero feels like he knows her, reminds him of a girl (foster sister who died at the hands of their abuse foster dad) from his childhood, mia. ?
Hero was a foster child and the night mia passed away he and his foster siblings escaped their foster father. They all live with eachother now. I believe there is three guys (brothers) and one girl(little sister).
I remember the guy likes to help out (protect) kids in need? I remember a scene where she knocks on his door bc of a boy. I think heroine doesnt care for the guy at first but idk.

As he gets to know the heroine he begins to fall for her but then the truth comes out. The heroine is really mia! The neighbors saved her. She slowly starts remembering her dark past when the foster dad comes back into their lives.

Hi,
I am looking for this novel (contemporary) the hero was rich and all the family money was lost somehow. He meets (by saving her from someone, I don't remember) the heroine (rich) and they fall in love instantly and get married. They move to another state. I am sure if there is a ranch or just a house that the heroine redecorates but she uses her money (by paying half to be independent) and the hero gets angry over that. I don't remember the rest.

Hi, I need help finding books I read, loved and lost (including lost memory of the titles!).

1) About three friends from college, one rich, one with shirt dark hair (the quiet one) and one promiscuous one. The book follows their lives and relationships. Thought it might be Lace, but that wasn't the answer.

2) I swear the title is Amaryllis, but when I look it up, can't find it. Book from the 80's about a girl who grew up in England, named after the flower. She is an artist and somehow lapses into memories of her previous lives (American Revolution is one I remember) and who she lived. She needs to understand her "memories" so that she can find the one true love of her lives.

3) This one is also from the 80's. Bodice Ripper. 1700 or 1800's England. Girl is orphaned and raised by her slovenly aunt and lustful uncle. Uncle tries to rape her, aunt isn't happy (punishes her for being beautiful, uses her kind of like Cinderella) and takes her to her (the Aunts') nasty brother, who is a dressmaker. He puts her in this stunning lace (and very provocative) dress. She has dinner with him but runs away (still in the dress) before he can hurt her. She's found on the docks where a ship captain "helps" her, thinking she was a prostitute. Uses her and deserts her knowing she was a virgin. Time passes, girl comes up pregnant, aunt takes the captain to court, captains says (yeah, I'm the baby daddy, I'll marry the girl." Takes her across the sea to his plantation in America. they live "happy with bumps." He loves her, she loves him, they're both clueless. Somehow or another dressmaker shows up, sees his one of a kind dress he created, finds the girl, tries to hurt her, etc... Just need the title, the story is all here in my head!

Hello everyone. New member here. Trying to find a book I read late 80s. I know the plot but just cannot remember the title or author to save my life. So here goes;

A happy married man with a stay-home wife and 2 kids living in the country likes going to London (I think) during the social ball season. There he met an attractive lady and he had a whirlwind affair with her. They decided to elope together, but at the last minute, just about to board the ship, he had a guilt trip and confesses to her about being married. She was distraught and felt really guilty about breaking up his marriage, so they decided to part ways. At that point, she dedicated her life to seeking penance for her actions. (I think she became a nun/nurse). He on the other hand, could not live up to his guilt, so instead of going back home, heads the other way. The wife back home became heartbroken and sickly.

Fate would have it, the nun/nurse was sent to take care of her ex lover's wife and kids. She realizes this and sees it as heaven giving her a chance to pay for her sins. In the end the husband came back, met the nun/nurse just as she was about to leave.

I hope people can help me find this gem of a book.

Thanks

I'm sorry if this has already been asked about, but I have been searching for a decade now with no success.

Hi everyone! I'm so happy I found this site and I'm hoping someone can help. I don't have the title or author unfortunately or this would be a million times easier! :)

The book is historical 1800s I believe in England. The heroine is held as a sex slave to a man that makes her perform in front of him and all his friends. I know he has a maze with a big statue of him in the middle and she has nightmares about it. She somehow escapes and I can't remember how but she meets the hero. He learns about what she's gone through in her past and he convinces her to trust and love him. He eventually kills the abusive ex in the maze. Also I'm pretty sure the hero and her have sex on a chamber horse while they are looking to buy a new house. I cannot for the life of me remember anything else. :/

Also I'm not sure if this is the same book but I keep thinking of the heroine at a masquerade ball that's she's attending with the hero but someone the ex finds her there and stalks her. I'm thinking it's one of those series with a big family and each book is based on a different member of the family. ( I know REAL helpful lol )

Anyway, any help would be so appreciated. I've racked my brain and the internet for weeks trying to find both and I can't seem to :/

I am looking for a book i read around 2007 but it looked verry old i think it was a harlequin it was set in like spain i remember the word "Rancharo". the woman was blonde(they were verry focused on her look which was not a norma look verry american), she was an orphan taken in as the ward of a rich man her mother used to work for. he sent her to a convent or nunnery till she was grown then she was supposed to come back and be his carertaker (but she didnt know he actualy wanted to marry her). on her way to her gaurdians home her car (im almost positive it was a car not a carrigae) was stopped by men on horse's and kidnaped but before he took her away he kissed her infront of her driver. when they got to the kidnappers house he told her what her gardians plans were and that the only way for him to save her was if she married him imediatly.
she also was convinced he was in love with another woman i think the other womans name was rosa or rosalinda something like that but (she turned out to be an old dead lady in the end).
she was a virgin through the whole book till almost the verry end.

i have looked every wear for this dang book Please Someone Help Me!

The main character names are Miles/Myles (hero) (I THINK), Sarah (heroine) and Freddie. She is 27-year-old girl entering a marriage of convenience with Miles, whom I think is an Earl. The marriage has a rocky start as she has trouble fitting in and she is ridiculed. Freddie, Miles' cousin, helps her with a makeover and she becomes a quite popular. Miles has a dirty secret about his previous wife who had married him for money but was in a promiscuous relationship with his friend and she dies in an accident, she may have been pregnant. The friend disappears and returns to find that Miles is remarried to Sarah and he starts flirting with her. She flirts back to make Miles jealous but does not realise his sinister plan. The friend tries to abduct her but she is rescued by Miles and perhaps Freddie. The title may begin as "The/A perfect.......". I read it ages ago, booked it out of a library... Please HELP

Hi everyone!
I hope someone can help me find this book. It's historical romance, and it begins with the heroine engaged to marry a widower with children. She's plain, getting to be a spinster, and has a limp, I think, and feels she has no other prospects. Before they marry she is then at another location, a relative I think, I wish I could remember more about it!! She meets the hero, he becomes injured, maybe shot?? She helps nurse him. She thinks he's unconscious and peeks at his man parts and he grabs her. But that was about as far as I got because it was my mother-in-law's book and I had to give it back. I was shocked as hell that she likes these kinds of books lol

Any ideas? It seems like the title was only one word, like Surrender, something that implied the plot but not obvious. It's been at least 12 years since I read it so it is probably a 90's or early 2000's book. Seems like the cover had red and a gate or arch and a woman in red in the background.

Help!!
Thank you in advance!!

Hello everyone,

Just so you know I'm fairly new, so tell me if I'm doing something wrong ;)
I've been looking for a book which i think is quite difficult to find, because there are so many of them... it was a stepbrother romance, the mother of the girl is unavailable (I don't really know what happened) and so the father remarried a woman. The girl falls in love with her son and vice-versa, so there's nothing special about this till now, but at the end of the book you find out that the girls mother is actually dead, and she's been so traumatized that she created some kind of bubble universe where her mother is still alive. She even thinks she can call her mother and stuff. The guy follows her one day when she's going to call her mother because he thinks there's something fishy about that and sees that she visits her mothers grave, which she subconsciously transformed into what I think is a phone booth? I don't remember exactly... it would be wonderful if someone knows which book I'm talking about, I've been wanting to read it again for months!
Greetings!

Hi all,
Looking for the title of a book I read in the late 80's/early 90's that was set on a plantation. I don't remember if it was set during the Civil War, what was important was getting the plantation to run and profit. It wasn't by anyone well known (at least not that I remember), it was more of a 3 for $7 bundle from Walmart/Sam's Club, tho still probably Zebra, Harlequin or Avon. There was the STEAMIEST sex scene that took place mid day in the darkened, shuttered parlor...
I think the hero is the b-i-l of the widow...
Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Hi everyone, I have been trying to find a book, and just can't find it anywhere. Unfortunately I don't remember the author or the names of the characters. But here is something about the plot, or the beginning:
- The book situates somewhere 1800s
- A man and a woman of genteel birth end up having sex, both (or just the woman) are wearing masks, but the woman recognizes the man
- The woman kind of teaches something to the man and afterwards the man wants to know who she is
- Later we find out that actually they know each other in their normal life out in the daylight
- I'm not sure, but I think the woman was writing about her adventures in a paper

Thank you for any help!

Hello!

I can't remember the name or author of this book I read probably 10 years ago. All I can remember is a few details.

A demon takes a girl, redhead I believe, down to some sort of underworld type place. There he trains her to be a sex slave for other demons as well as himself. He ends up falling in love with her and eventually sets her free. I'm pretty sure he wipes her memory of him or something because I remember the ending was sad.

I think the cover was of a man with wings carrying, like cradling, a naked girl. I want to say the cover had red and golden colors on it?

Sorry I'm so vague. But this is driving me nuts!

Thanks!

Hi everyone I found you while searching for a book title that I read a while ago and lost and I really want to read it again if you guys could help that would be awesome! I didn't even know this site exsisted but I am so happy I found it!

Okay so here is what I remember,

This is a harlequin romance it had the white front and the red band on top, the main character was a single mom to a daughter (I believe her daughters name was chloe) she had just moved back home to the house that she had rented out while she lived in I believe Australia. The father of her daughter was abusive and died in a car crash I believe his name was sean/shawn so she moves back home and applies for a job as a typewriter but they look at her resume and hire her for a personal assistant opening to the CEO who just happens to be her daughter's uncle and twin brother of her ex. She tries to keep her daughter a secret from him, she tries to quit but really needs the money so she stays. He finds out that she dreams of renovating her house and tells her about the company discount for employees and he decides to help her with it even though she doesn't want him too then he accidently meets her daughter who mistakes him for his brother and runs scared from the room then he demands an explanation and she explains to him.

I don't remember what else happens it has been coming back to me in snippets for years and driving me crazy because I loved that book if anyone's knows I would be really grateful I can't find it anywhere!

Hi everybody! I'm new here and I'm wondering if somebody could help me to find a historical romance novel I read about 20 years ago when I was a teenager..I remember, I really enjoyed reading it, but I can't remember the title or the name of the author or of the characters...It must have been published in the 80's or early 90's, definitely before 1995.

My memories of the novel are really vague...I wish I could remember more...It COULD be set in Regency England. I believe the hero (H) was the captain of a ship and also had some kind of title or was a heir. If I don't remember all wrong, he had a long blond hair and was a quite a rogue. The heroine I think had a reddish brown hair. I don't know if I mix two different books, but it's possible that the h dressed as boy at some moment.

Of what I'm completely sure is that during a some kind of ball, the H gets jealous or suspicious for a reason I can't remember, and takes the h outside to the garden. He takes her to a hedge maze and gives her a pouch full of money. His intention is to humiliate her paying her for her "services". H leaves h in the maze and enters the mansion or castle (probably his home) where the ball takes place. It's winter and pretty cold. The H looks from the window to be sure h finds her way out from the maze. Finally they end up together again. Happy end :) I have tried to google it, but no avail...

(I recently read The Gentle Rogue by Johanna Lindsey believing it was the book, but nope...I enjoyed reading it though) :)

Any clues are highly appreciated!

Hi, I'm trying to find a book I read a good 8 to 10 years ago. All I can remember is it's around the time of the American revolution. The main character looses her hearing when she is a child because of an accident. She learns sign language and becomes a spy during the war. I can't remember anything about the main male character but I believe the book spanned about 10 years or so.

Hello everyone, new to the group. I need help finding a book. It's a historical romance. It starts off with a woman help a lord. She takes him into her place. They talked about a little of her past and about her mum dying. He gives her a coin for the inconvenience. She moves away. She moves into a place where she becomes friend with the family living next door. She ends up going back to her brothers place because he is getting married. By the time the lord finds her it is her wedding day. He saves her and they leave for his plan, I believe with a stop along they way. Well a friend of his loans him enough money, with the promise of paying him back, to get married etc. I don't remember the ending , title, or author. I read this a few years back.. Thanks for the help.

Hi there, I am looking desperately for a teen/young adult romance that I have forgotten the name of. I wrote down the opening passage a few years ago and just found it again today. Please help..

"Sometimes I wish we met differently. Not at her mothers wedding but somewhere romantic. Somewhere I didn't have celery in my ears and olives in my teeth, or salad in my hair, right after I threw baby tomatoes at her mom."

So really random book. It's Christian fiction about a widow who buys a country cottage and turns it into a bed and breakfast. The book starts with her looking at the rundown house taking pictures accompanied by her friend. During the book she also falls for the building contractor who is a widower. He buys her a spinning wheel. The protagonist also has a bad relationship with her daughter as her daughter is very angry about life and grumpy that her mum is wasting her inheritance on the b&b. Any thoughts? I read it when I was a teenager and it was one of the favourites and I'm quite keen to read it again but can't for the life of me find it on Google. I think it's called something like The Country House.

188- I've read this book before. I'm still wracking my brain for the title. Its set Brazil in San Paulo. The girls name was Maria I think and he was a lawyer from a wealthy family that he was estranged from. He is trying to help the poor but his father disagreed with him. Girls last name was Bernardo I think. When I find the book or remember the title I'll post again.

NEVER MIND. FOUND IT. "Forever Amber." Written in the 1940's, they also made a movie out of it starring Linda Darnell. You can get the book and the movie on Amazon. I highly recommend both.

Looking for a book I read maybe 30 years ago. Very thick romance novel about a woman who starts out as a girl in a rural English town, set back in the days of lords and ladies. She falls for a soldier or duke or something and follows him to London. Then, the book goes on and on about how she tries to get him to love her, even staying in London at one point and nursing him through the plague. After that, he falls for her, but she doesn't know it, and in the meantime marries some other guy. The one she really loves finds out about it and takes off for the New World (USA), and marries someone else over there, and then brings her back to England. It's one of the few romance novels I have ever read that doesn't turn out all unicorns and fairies at the end. Really well-written.

Ok so the book I am looking for is fairly recent (I mean I am pretty sure its within the last 10 years) and I'm pretty sure "popular" is in the title.

So in the book the girl moves to a new town and so she decides that at this school she is going to be popular so decides to use her nerdish habits to her advantage. Before school starts she does a ton of research and finds the most popular clothes, and buys them, and on the first day of school she finds out she is wearing the same shirt as the most popular girl (its a really hot day and somewhere hot like) so she just wears a raincoat all day so as to not cause problems.

Within the first week she finds out that the three (maybe four) popular girls only have one thing in common, and that is that they all dated this one guy, so she goes to try and date him, which results in her tutoring him, accidentally becoming his prom date (or maybe it was just some major dance) because his mom was being a jerk and claiming that he was embarrassing her by not bringing someone (or something like that) and since the main girl was there, tutoring him, he was just like "that's not true mom, I'm taking her" basically. Anyway the popular girls found out, and then when the main dude stood the main girl up at the dance the populars basically welcomed her to their group but main girl defended him and either just before, or after this, the main guy found and read her notebook that said what she was planning and he got all mad and in the end then they are at this thing like a giant science thing or something, like a big deal, and she wins the thing or something and its lie a happily ever after thing.

I feel like the name is like "the scientific equation for being popular" or something but I can't find it, all that comes up is the Met Cabot book...

I found my book that I was looking for. An unlikely countess. I need help with another book. It is a series dealing with three sisters. The only thing I remember from the book is that the three sisters were sitting under a tree or by a lake. Maybe both. I think that their names had royale as the last name. Sorry for the lack of details. I read these a while back. Like 5 years back

I just can't remember the name or author of this book I read probably years ago.

All I remember is a few details like the heroine is named Victoria and the hero's name is Jack or Jonathan. It's a historical romance. The H fights his attraction with h because the h is unlike other girls who are timid and obedient. She is a little strongheaded and has an adventurous streak. If I'm not wrong, the h is an orphan and her remaining family is trying to kill her for her fortune.

I also remember a scene where, on the way to Church, the heroine along with her maid were walking in the woods and stumbled upon a bear/foothold trap or something. Luckily, only the dress of the heroine is caught. Her maid rush to ask for help at the church and found the H. The H thought that the h was seriously wounded when he came into her rescue. He was a little angry at first because of the h's recklessness but this incident made the H thinks about his feelings to the h.

I'm sorry for the vague details. I don't remember anything much but it has been coming back to me in snippets. I've been looking for this book for some time now and its really, really driving me crazy.

Hope somebody could help. Thank you!!

Hi, I don't know if someone already posted about this book.

I'm not certain about the time frame nor I remember the names of the characters, but it's loosely place in England. She's from the present/future for him I guess and she's in old church praying or admiring the architecture of it, when suddenly he appears. He was an heir to the English crown with superior rang than the Tudors and was killed in his time because of it, but his mother somehow knew about this and made a spell that send him to the future and that church where he meets the heroine. And I think she was the only one capable of seeing him, she was a curator or a professor if I'm not wrong because she knew of history.

Thanks for any help, sorry it's a long post

I am looking for a historical romance and it's driving me crazy! It's about a man that meets a woman in the East and takes her to Texas to meet his father who owns a large cattle ranch. His mother is part Indian and when he visits her people he finds them living in terrible conditions. I remember a part where the woman is driving a wagon back from town and sees a young Indian girl getting raped on her way home from getting other people's laundry to wash. The woman shoots at the men and runs them off. Another part is about the man who decides to take a vision quest by putting sticks or bones or something through his skin and pulling until they rip out and gets a vison. The nearest town has men that don't like the hero because he's a half breed. Any ideas?

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a couple books, both historical romances, and they were connected books. They may have been part of a larger series, but all I remember is that the heroine of the second book was previously engaged(? - maybe assumed to be engaged) to the hero in the first book for some reason, before he falls in love with someone else, and realizes she's too uptight for him. The second book involves the best friend of the hero of the first book falling for her and finding that while she seems uptight, she has reasons for it, and she's not as dull ash she seems. She also learns to loosen up. I remember something about her carrying a knife in the bodice of her gown, and possibly that the hero had a young daughter or son?
Sorry this is so vague, and thanks in advance!

Greetings! I'm new.to the site.and the group. I actually found you because I was trying to find the title and author of a romance book I read back in the 80's or 90's!. Maybe one of you can help me find this book. Here is what I remember:

It was one of those monthly romances, Harlequin or Sillhoette? Set in modern day, US I believe.

Heroine (Diane maybe?) Was a home ec teacher who has left teaching to start a yacht catering business with her friend, who owns a deli. She signs up as a chef on a personal yacht crew to gain contacts for the yacht catering business.

Hero (Chris, I think) is the owner of a very successful restaurant chain, who is assigned to the same crew as first mate.

At some point in the story the heroine tells the hero what about the yacht catering, and it SEEMS as if he's trying to steal her business idea and contacts.

One specific detail... The story.features a dessert called Lilac Pie, and the recipe for it is actually found at the end of the book. This is driving me nuts, because I can't remember the book or the author!!!

Hi all! reposting since I still havent found the book after 2 years.

I've been looking for this book for years, and I cant for the life for me remember the name of the book!! It should be have published in the last decade or last 2 decades.

It's a contemporary, second chance romance about a couple that has been separated or divorced, and they have a son who stays with the mum. He comes back one day for some reason and they start the relationship again.

He tries to reconnect with her son, and one time he, the son and the mum went on an outing on a boat. Her shirt gets wet and he gave her his shirt to wear and things got a little steamy on the boat. There were some sex scenes but not too explicit. One scene started with him helping her to zip up her dress.

In the end, after he got back together with the mum, she said after he left she was so angry that she threw her wedding ring into the river.

The story may be part of an anthology, but again I'm not 100% sure! Also the story seems like it could be by Lori Foster. Any help is highly appreciated!

Hello Everyone! This is my first post here and I have been trying to find 2 books for years now, which is how I came upon this wonderful feed. These were 2 of the first romance novels I ever read (that I snuck from my Mother's stash), so over 20 years ago now. I remember both are historical romances, set around 1800's, in America.
Book 1: Is about h who was living with a relative (I'm thinking her Aunt?), but the relative passes away and leaves h all of her money, but tells her she has to leave so that her other remaining relative (thinking distant cousin?) can't get his greedy ass hands on it. So h goes and becomes a school marm in the country (thinking Texas?). The job comes with housing, which included a cow. H is a townee (maybe the sheriff or a cowboy?). I remember he takes her shopping or maybe just comes by as she's shopping and thinks she doesn't have enough to buy all of her purchases; he's about to go inside and pay for her purchases, when he becomes baffled when she pulls out a $20 piece, because school marms don't have that kind of money. Another scene I remember is one of the first mornings she was there, the cow is making a racket and she has no idea why. H comes over and informs her that the cow is in pain, because it needs to be milked; which she has no idea how to do. I think the words 'Wild' or 'Rose' may have been in the title?

Book 2: This one I barely remember and I don't even think I got to finish, I'm thinking my mom found it and confiscated it back to her room. I think it had something to do with the gold rush, but H and h met in San Francisco first and for whatever reason I think they ended up traveling to Alaska. h has Dr skills and I think H is a gambler? Seriously, horrible info, but it's been over 20 years.

I've done Google searches, as well as, using many of the search sites I've found on this feed and searching through public libraries, garage sales and friend's collections; my mother no longer owns either book or remembers the name or authors of either book. If anyone could help me out I would be truly grateful, as I've been searching forever for these 2 books.

Looking for an old M&B where the hero is a musician and the heroine is a music critic(her name is Eleanora or Theadora), she trashes his music, he writes a song about her, making fun of her. They eventually fall in love after a lot of repartees and verbal duelling.

I need some help. there is this book that I am trying to find and its about a boy who enters the magic realm without knowing who his real parents are. and they are one of the kings and queens in the magic realm. eventually he finds out about it by travelling back in time into his younger self. he tries to warn his father about a tragedy that was about to happen, but instead just gets ignored. I think the boys name was ed or something like that I am not quite sure. after he finds out about his parents he returns to the present and it turns out that the father made a command or wish of some sort that once the boy finds out that the king is his dad the castle they live in will self destruct. also there is this staff that the dad has and it sort of has a mind of its own, so when the boy tries to use it the power overflows and the staff tries to take over his body. also there was a bit with a dragon where the boy had to pass some sort of trial.

I hope someone can help me find this book. I have been dying to find it!

I'm hoping you can help me as I've been googling and googling and getting nowhere.

When I was a teenager I read a book which was part of a teenage romance series and I'm desperate to read it again but can't remember what it was called.

It's about a girl who discovers a ghost station when travelling by train and subsequently discovers a hidden village. She falls for the local publican (I think) and keeps returning for wonderful romantic weekends. In the end she has to choose whether to return to her life or stay in the village as to most people it does not exist.

I think the village is called Midsummers Leigh.

Please help 😍

Hi all!
I'm looking for a Native American Historical Romance. It starts off with two sisters and there family going for a train ride on their fathers rail way and something goes wrong. The younger sister is really hurt and completely losses her hearing. I think they had a brother who died.
Sometime later they are moving to a mission for the older sister to be a teacher. The mission has close ties to a Native American group. And the sisters catch the attention of two of the Indians because of their hair color. I want to say that it was strawberry blonde or just blonde. The older sister spend much of her time denying her feelings for the Indian while her sister is swept away by the kindness she is shown. Even as he teaches her sign language.
That's all I remember about the plot.
I found my book. For any interested it's called Night Walker

Hi all, desperately seeking a book and have had no luck googling as I only remember the barest bits and pieces. Hopefully it will be enough for someone to identify! I would suspect that this was published between 2008 and 2013 but I could be wrong.... I also thought that it was one of Kate Morton's but it definitely is not.

It has elements of a historical romance and the biggest thing that I remember is that it absolutely takes place in an old english manor house. A modern female character is in the house for some reason (a tour, research, ???) and she starts having a deja vu feeling... its splices between that time and the love story of a girl living there in like the 19th century. I do remember some element of letters of some kind or a diary between the girl and her love interest. The girl is frail and sickly and dies young in her bed in the house. I think the female character from modern times finds an old letter from the girl in the past and knows exactly where to find it... I can't remember how or if she was perhaps a reincarnation of the girl from the past...it's all muddled in my mind.

I know that's not much to go on but any ideas?!

Hello, I am searching for a book where the heroine has read hair (and possibly green eyes). I think the book starts with her on a boat with her cousin or something like it. Then she is kidnapped by a sheik who is very handsome. i Can't remember much but they fall in love and i remember they eventually have sex near an oasis.

I also think the woman is abducted by another sheik who is a bad man and has a harem, and is then rescued by "our" sheik beacause he loves her.

Can anyone help?

I'm sorry if my english is not the best, i hope you understand. :)

Hey, I'm looking for a book that I can't remember the name of, and all I can remember is the first scene in the book: a girl is outside smoking a cigarette, she's underage (like 16 maybe?) and her brother's best friend who is older comes outside and takes the cigarette and gets after her. Hi!

So I'm having trouble remembering the name of a particular book. It was a contemporary romance.

-The hero was a reclusive hermit who lived in this big unkempt house by himself
-He ends up hiring a woman as his live-in maid but isn't keen on showing her his face because of his insecurities
-He dresses a bit weirdly and is not very talkative.
-The two are attracted to each other and the hero ends up reading her novels that contain smut in it. (Later turns out that he made up all the dirty stuff in the book)
-The hero is also very averse to touching anyone because of some abuse he faced in the past.
-When the two do get intimate, he uses a bedsheet to cover her body so he doesn't directly touch her.

Also, I vaguely remember the book cover being black with a red rose or something on it. If anyone knows what I'm talking about please reply! I'd appreciate it a lot! :)

Hello lovelies.

I am trying to remember a book I read in late 90's, early 2000's

To the best of my knowledge:
- I think it is set in Montana.
- Hero is a rancher. The heroine is from back east and is a city girl.
- I think she has long black, curly hair. (remembering him spending hours untangling by firelight).
- He thinks she is going to be a pain in butt, but she tries really hard to learn and help.
- She goes to town and while there picks up some stuff from the General store for Christmas gifts.
- On the way back, she is trying to load everything up on the horse and puts something in a metal tin.
The sound spooks the horse and it refuses to budge. She tries with all her might to get the horse to go and has to nearly drag it. She gets lost in a snowstorm. He of course saves her.
- I also think she got kicked by a calf during a branding.
- Maybe she is a mail order bride or something similar.
- I remember him being taken with her female form in dungarees. :)

All your genius help is greatly appreciated.

I'm new here. But I've been looking for a book an searched all ways through google but can't find it. here's what I remember about it:

A duke (or at the very least a marquess) gets sick with fever and when he recovers, he only speaks gibberish. In his brain he still thinks normally but he can't get his mouth to say the words. So he's taken as having gone insane and so brought to a mental asylum. There he meets a lady who works or volunteers there. He's constantly mad and violent but she sees intelligence in his eyes and so starts to try and understand him. She's a methodist and would work at the asylum because of that. Eventually he asks her to marry him in order for her to become is guardian and so he can be released.

Please please please help!!

I have posted this request before, but would like to try again. I still haven't found the book with google or skimming through most read authors. Though I think the book was very similar to the ones Julia Quinn writes.

- The book situates somewhere 1800s in England
- A man and a woman of genteel birth end up having sex, both (or just the woman) are wearing masks, but the woman recognizes the man
- Afterwards the man wants to know who she is
- Later we find out that actually they know each other in their normal life out in the daylight
- The woman maybe had a sister
- The woman was writing about her adventures in a paper (scandalous of course), the man also reads it and knows she is writing about them
- I read this as an e-book, so I don't know the cover

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a book that I think was written in the last 10 years or so but I'm not sure. It's about a girl who's a prostitute and she meets a cop and they make a plan to take down her pimp. They fall in love but the sting operation doesn't go as planned and he goes to war and ends up thinking she's dead. But she's alive and pregnant and she goes to start a new life in a small town and becomes friends with an elderly couple. And then it turns out that the elderly couples son is the cop and he comes home and they reunite. If you know what this is please help because I'd really like to read it again, thanks!

Hello. I’m looking for a novel where a secretary marries her jilted boss after he falls at a construction site and his fiancée leaves him as he’s wheelchair bound. At the end of the story he gets an operation to fix his legs/back.

I believe his name was Jack. I don’t remember much more except that the heroine had been in love with him from the start and she’d been the one to decorate the happy couple’s new home when the original fiancée couldn’t be bothered.

It was most likely a Mills and Boone story.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hello, I'm looking for a book I read over 20 years ago (I know "good luck". I have been trying to find it for a long time.

Starts out a young girl is taunted/dared by a neighbor friend to ride her boyfriend’s stallion. Against her better judgment she does and the horse breaks a leg and has to be shot. Her boyfriend is furious. The girl and the neighbor boy run away and are gone for years. They get married and have a mentally disabled child. His (or maybe her) parents and her husband wanted her to abort the child when they became aware that it would have problems (or give it away upon birth). She refuses, but within a few years the child dies. Her husband is a mean drunk (people back home do not know this as he makes them believe it is her that is the drunk). Years after she left, her ex-boyfriend finds her in a blizzard on the mountain, with no memory of what has happened to her on the mountain or why she is there. He tries to get her to drink some whiskey to warm her up (also among other things). She pushes it away and he gets angry saying “What this cheap whiskey ain’t good enough for you” (unbeknownst to him she is allergic to alcohol). As the book progress they get closer and he learns allot of what he thought and heard about her was wrong. He helps her to piece together what happened on the mountain. Close to the end of the book they end up back on the mountain so she can replay everything to try and remember. The husband had tried to kill her and ended up going over a cliff instead of her.

Hello :)

I've been searching for this book in a while now. It's an old one my aunt had when she was a teen and I read it like about 10 years ago.

I think the h was a teacher and H owns a textile company. They were lovers when they were teens and h got pregnant. They were supposed to run away together but I think her father did something to stop them and hid some letter to h from H. He was poor before and it seemed like he worked for her family. I forgot what it was but the girl's family had some business. Anyway, with h pregnant, she was sent away somewhere but had miscarriage. Years later they met again with H rich and I think he was buying some properties including one from her family's. At some point in the story H also asked about their child. They got back together at the end.

That's about what I remember and I do hope somebody remembers this too. :)

Help! I'm looking for a book I read a few years ago, a contemporary romance. I've looked EVERYWHERE for it, typed in every combination of things I remember, and nothing rings a bell.

Neighbors
Virgin heroine who's curvy and insecure
Retired military hero, he might work nights?
Heroine gets fired from her restaurant job by her dad, starts designing clothes
Hero ignores heroine in a bar with his friends, ends up having to kiss her on the main street of the town to make it up to her

If anyone knows this one, please give me a shout! It's driving me crazy.

Thanks!

Hi! I'm new here, but it seems like so many have gotten a lot of help here, so I decided to join and see if anyone knows the name of the book I'm trying to find. I read it such a long while ago.

*From what I remember, it starts with a woman who I think just married a really old man (a laird?) who dies before they could even do it. She has a female servant who waits on her, and they can't let anyone know he died before they did it or either they'll kill the main woman or throw her out. I think the old man was trying to have an heir and either his previous wives never conceived or only had girls.

*Her maid(?) helps her and they somehow capture a man with similar features that the old man had when he was young and she goes to him every night to try to get pregnant with his child. While he's captured, he's tied down to a bed and she doesn't actually know what she's doing the first night cuz she's a virgin.

*He somehow manages to escape and after some time returns to the where she lives, but with an army/soldiers because it turns out that he is a laird too and she didn't know. (I think he was already enemies with the old laird who'd died but I don't know. He might have gone there to make a deal to make peace or something between their two lands.) He then either kidnaps or demands to have her (maybe he threatens war if they don't give her to him and his armies are greater at that time? I'm not sure.)

*He ends up taking her with him to his castle/keep (I think she asked if her maid could go with her but because he was angry I'm pretty sure he said no, but I'm not positive about it). He then ties her to the bed in his room like she did him, but he's more considerate about what she experiences. One thing I remember is that, even though he is getting revenge on her for what she had been doing to him, he would make changes so she wouldn't be as uncomfortable as he'd been. He'd rub her shoulders and give her massages because having your limbs bound was making circulation difficult.

*He would go to the room and pleasure her and make sure she orgasmed, but I don't think he let himself come in front of her. I think, eventually it got to a point where he no longer kept her tied to the bed, but still kept her restricted, and he'd still pleasure her but he would never finish in the room with her. Eventually, he realized he was falling more for her so he went to a Shaman, or something like that, who was his friend and the guy gave him two potions, one that would keep him erect for a while but would keep him from coming, and the other which would make him extremely horny.

*He took the erection potion when he was with her and pleasured her multiple times, and she felt like he was colder than he'd been before cuz they were kinda warming up to each other by then, but he didn't want to. So because she saw him take something that made him seem more unfeeling, she got the bag and saw one potion there, so she drank it. Then that night, when he went to her, she flung herself at him and wasn't really herself, so he locked her in the room, and posted guards at the door, and said he'd kill anyone who entered that room.

*It ended happily, and they ended up together, but that's all I really remember.

I read it about 10 to 15 years ago. It wasn't newly released though, it was a used book.

I think I remember the title having the word 'Sun' in it somewhere, and/or maybe the cover having half of an orange sun on it? I'm pretty sure it was also a red book, but I'm not 100% about it. I know it was kind of a thick book. I also keep thinking it was by Nora Roberts, but I'm pretty sure I'm wrong.

Thank you!!

Hello,

I'm looking for a book that was published around 2005.

I remember picking it up and reading the blurb, but I never bought it.

It's a historical, I think I remember set in Scotland. The hero was actually kidnapped to become a sex slave in a harem for a female. He is eventually released and comes home with a daughter.

The h is his neighbour and I believe they grew up together.

I think I remember the title writing as being an emerald green colour.

A series that starts with a girl upset that her first love is marrying her best friend. Then, in order to pursue a job/internship at a prestigious company, her father insists that she move in with the best friend/first love where she has thoughts of seducing him away. Then she meets the CEO of the company that is a well known womanizer (and royalty I believe) and they develop an uneasy relationship made more difficult because it is his company that she is trying to win employment at. Then, the series takes a turn when you find out her mother (who was murdered with her daughter in the room) was literally angelic and so is she which leads to a whole different story. HELP! This has been bugging me for 3 weeks now!

Damn - I have this book but it's currently in storage. As soon as I'm able I'll post the title.

I can't remember the name of it but you're correct that the hero's name is Mason.

It's a book about witches and warlocks (whose society is secret from regular folks). As the years have passed more and more of the W/W are found to be progressively infertile. Because of this, most marriages within their 'society' are arranged, purely for fertility purposes. H/h were 'betrothed' when they were very young (think H was 10-12, h was maybe 7ish).

Each W/W has a special gift they bring to the world. The H's ends up being justice (he's a judge - the youngest ever etc.) and the h's I think is compassion (she's a social worker). H has always believed his was something darker like pain or suffering (because his family was all known to be terrible, e.g. his dad beat his mum). Many believe he used his magic to become a judge so young, which of course he didn't. Becuase of his belief, he was extremely reluctant to marry and definitely didn't want kids (passing on his bad genes). He put the marriage off for as long as possible.

The society has an elders circle who make the decisions and they finally put their foot down so H/h have to marry.

The h is NOT reluctant and is desperate to marry H. She's still a virgin (which the H is skeptical of as she beautiful) and the story opens with them all at a society party and her doing her best to attract H. H, of course, notices her (in her low cut dress), but pretends to ignore her.

They marry and h gets pregnant quickly. The problem is h can't use her powers when she's pregnant (wacky things happen, such as the great fire of London etc.) as pregnant witches can't control their magic.

Becuase of her work, she's in regular contact with lowlifes. One such lowlife kidnaps her and about all she can do is send Mason a telepathic message 'help, pregnant'. Mason is a VERY powerful warlock and immediately comes to her rescue (my young teenage self loved this scene). HEA.

This book was released in the mid-nineties as a special double edition (the second story is a standard amnesia romance). The book cover is yellow, with both cover illustrations on the front cover. I'm pretty sure Spellbound is the series name, not the book name.

Hope some of this added info can help in the search until I can find the book.

Hi, I'm looking for a harlequin romance series. I think. I can't remember much and have been mixing it up with other stories. I remember the main guys being rich and one of them at least was a sheikh. One of the girlfriends was sitting in the hotel watching TV when the news came on and showed those guys partying on a yacht with half-naked women which led to a fight. The women made it out to be like an orgy basically. He didn't cheat though I think. At first I thought the main girls were sisters but I was mixing it up with Lynne Graham's Sister Brides Series. If it's that series after all please let me know and if not can anyone help me find it? It's driving me nuts.

Hello,
I am new to this website and have been trying to find a book I read a while back with no luck. I'm pretty sure it was based in Victorian England, but I can't be 100% on that. It was definitely a Historical Romance though. It was about a young woman who was in love with an older man who I believe was a family friend. She had been trying to entice him for a while, but to no avail because he didn't think he was good enough for her. Her brother was her guardian and I can't remember if he proposed that they get married for her safety or if they are just faking it all around. I know the hero does his best to keep his distance from the heroine even though she does her best to make it a real marriage. I believe they even sleep in the same bed, but with a pillow between them. At one point they get into a fight and he has to chase her out into an alley which leads to a rather intimate act in the snow, but during it he is knocked unconscious and she is kidnapped. I can't remember much beyond that unfortunately. I think it might have had a white cover with a small picture of an estate house or townhome on the front, but yet again I can't be 100% sure on that. Any help would be greatly appreciated because I have been wracking my brain for ages over this.

Hey there, I'm hoping someone can help me find out what the name and title of this book I absolutely adore is. I for the life of me can not remember the title or the author, but luckily I do remember a lot about it, seeing as how I once owned a copy of it and had actually read it several times. I just never thought some one would throw out the book and I would have to search for it all over again.

It is a historical romance book, set around the time when the colonies were expanding and more people were moving further out into the wilderness of the uncolonized lands. The main male character was a fur trapper from what I remember, he had been courting the main female character for some time. I do not remember what exactly led to her and him not really seeing eye to eye. She wanted to discontinue the courtship, he thought she was too spoiled and what not so he made a deal of some sort where she would stay with him out in the wilderness of his cabin home for a while, I dont remember the agreement exactly or all the details as to what led up to it, all i can recall is some how she ends up going back the small town place and from there to the mans home where she learns very fast what it is like to work hard for every thing. The guy had always desired the woman, and she possibly had always desired him as well. One thing leads to another and they are sharing a bed together. At some point even though everything appears to be going very well for them they get into a big fight and i believe she yells at him that he would have to find someone else to help him warm his sheets through the cold winters. She ends up leaving and going back to her family but shortly after finds out she is pregnant with his child. After some odd number of months where the two are separated the guy decides enough is enough and he cannot live without the woman he loves so he goes to fetch her and bring her back to his home where he will make her his wife. Unless they were already married at this point but I cannot recall though it seems unlikely that they are. He shows up to talk to her and she tries her best to keep her condition hidden from him, until they start arguing and she becomes restless but wants to flee from him so she leaves the house and walks around outside where she ends up going into the woods by her family's home and he follows her of course by then he can see she is pregnant. She ends up going into labor and at the end of the book they are all headed back to the mans home with their son named Thaddeus.
The baby's name is the only one I can remember at this point, but thats just some of what I can remember of the story so hopefully it helps.

The cover I think was pink, pretty sure the woman on the front of it had a pale pink dress on and she was outside around some bushes and flowers. If anyone has any ideas of what this book could possibly be I would greatly appreciate the help. Thanks.

Hello, I am looking for a book where the hero has sex with 2 girls who unbeknowst to him record it and put on the internet so they can have their 15 minutes of fame. I think he was rich (millionaire or billionaire) or an athlete. He met them at a party or a club. He gets alot of ribbing from people about it and he hates it but he just laughs it off because he doesnt want others to know how much it bothers him. Somehow an image consultant (I think thats what she is, maybe a publisist) gets hired for him to clean up his image and he ends up falling in love with her and at first she wants nothing to do with him because he is a manwhore but she eventually does fall in love with him.

Looking for a book I read about 10 years ago. It's a historical romance. The book came out between 2000 and 2010.

- Hero is an earl or duke or some sort of title.
- Heroine makes dresses for a lady or friend and no one knows it is her.
- Hero hires the dressmaker to make dresses for his fiancee or sister and has her go to his house. She makes like 40 dresses or something?
- She has a room on the second floor that the hero sneaks into at night
- the heroine makes friends with two ladies helping her with the dresses. One of which is a young lady who finds out she is pregnant later.
- There is a ball or something like that near the end where she runs out into the garden? I think.

I'm sorry if I can't give you more. I will add more if I can recall anything else.

I'm looking for a historical romance that takes place in England. It's part of a series about a group of friends. They frequently attend lectures. In third book (I think) a male and female friend are very attracted to each other. She does scientific research on plants and he presents the material at these lectures as his own because, obviously, no one would take her seriously. Eventually the situation blows up because he's tired of taking all the credit that she deserves. Does this ring a bell for anyone?
I read it between 2010-2016.
And if it helps I think in the first book the two lovers meet because the man is hiding at a party? And something happened to either his/her glasses. TIA

Hi! Ive been searching for harlequin book I read a couple years ago. Unfortunately, I lost my m&b copy when moving house. I'd really appreciate any help or suggestions.

The story was about a wife who had run away and left her husband. She was quite shy and unused to her successful husband's more glamorous way of life and social life. She is secretly befriended by her husband's PA (i think! Its definitely a female work colleague) who wants this kept a secret in case the husband diapproves. She uses that friendship to give the wife bad advice and eventually convinces her that her husband will leave her and take their child once its born. Hence the wife had left. Shes forced to return to a husband that doesnt trust her because the PA had convinced the husband that his wife had had an affair with the PA's cousin.
Theres plenty of angst and they eventually work out the PA was scheming to get the husband for herself.

Really hope this rings a bell for someone!
Thank you guys! X

Please HELP! I read this book on a loan about 15 years ago and i don't not remember the author or the title of the book.I have searched for the longest time to no avail. I Just remember parts of the story to the point where i left off. it is a historical romance with some suspense and mystery. Here's the story as I can best remember it:

The story starts off in England. The heroine (she has long curly red hair. lots of it and green eyes i think) has a useless drunkard father who wastes money. I think he tries to marry her off for money or some dubious reasons to an older terrible guy. she decides to dress up as a young man and runs away, catches a boat to Australia to try and find her brother who took a job at a ranch there. somehow (I don't call) she meets the owner of said ranch he figures out she's a girl and lets her have a job as a house-hand/ maid at the ranch.
On getting to the ranch she finds out her brother died- in some dubious/ suspicious drowning accident. she finds it suspicious because her brother was a good swimmer.
She is also seduced one night by the hero/ ranch owner who on finding out shes a virgin sends her away to another house owned by his family where his elderly aunt(or something of the sort) resides. I think the aunt figures out the heroine might be pregnant and decides she want to help her get the hero to fall in love with her.
Also the hero is engaged to some high class lady who is terrible and she is somehow connected to her brother's death and some other illegal matters going on around the ranch.

That's most of the details as i remember them. Sorry it's all jumbled up. ANY HELP is APPRECIATED.

Hi, I am trying to find a book I read years ago. I do not remember the name of the book, the author or the characters name. The story is set in the Elizabethan era (at the beginning of Elizabeth I reigns). The heroine has a physical deformity of one leg. She lives (or owns but not sure) a house where she has tenant (although I don't think they pay rent as they are more her friends than tenants). The tenants are actors or writers and are kind of flighty. Her family sends her money because they don't want her around as they don't consider her beautiful enough to make and advantageous marriage and she has a limp, so they are focusing all of their attention on her younger, beautiful but completely dumb cousin. An arranged marriage was agreed upon years ago between her family and the family of an Earl and on the night of her cousins engagement party the heroine went there to speak with her father and aunt to ask for more money but the aunt told her to leave and as she was she met the future groom who found her beautiful and a lot more interesting and intelligent than her cousin. The secondary plot involves a series of murders been committed where the victims had their body drained of blood. The heroine initially thought she was committing the murders because she experienced blackouts and woke up covered in blood. The earl convinced her that she was not the murderer and they set out together to hunt the killer. I think there was also a prediction made that involved someone dying during a lunar eclipse.

I'm looking for the title of this book. It's PNR. The heroine is the youngest daughter of a family of some kind of paranormal creatures. I can't remember what exactly, but she has no powers. And I think they hired a Djinn to watch over and protect her. Her sister is in trouble with a group of dragons, and she tricks the heroine into taking her place by sending her to a book store where she's supposed to meet the dragon sent to collect her so she can face a council of some kind. Of course the hero is the dragon and he thinks she's the sister. At some point, I think she gets injured and can't heal which is a surprise to him. And she's worried about them mating since he would lose his immortality. Oh, and I could swear at some point he's watching her from a tree or something, pining over her, after she's back with her family.

1. A young girl is rescued by a reporter from a crazy hospital; she has amnesia but it turns out that she is really the daughter of a wealthy man and either her father or he betrothed had her committed.

2. A woman travels to become a teacher for a small town but on the way there she is captured by Indians and a man from the town comes to negotiate her release and they have to preform a marriage ceremony. The man in question is a widower with two children.

Hi everyone. I am trying to find a novel (historical). Think it was a series. The female lead is taken on board a ship by a pirate. She pleads with him not to lock her in the cabin which he does. She is afraid of being locked in. I think this fear stems from having this done by her father. In the previous novel the female lead was being used by her father to break up the lead couple but she was not successful. I do not know the name or author of the novel or the publishing year. 2000-2008. Could be the 90's.

I am looking for a historical romance from around the mid 90’s. The heroine’s brother was a traitor to the king. To save her brother’s life the heroine agrees to marry the king’s knight. They fight constantly until the heroine almost dies in a poisoning directed at the queen. The queen does die. Eventually the plot against the king is uncovered and the hero and heroine claim their love for each other.

I have been searching for this book.

Hey I’m still looking for this book from the first 2 threads. I’m pretty much desperate for any help. Here’s the description copied from someone also looking for the same book.

Im looking for a book I read before 1996. I don't know the title or author.

It is set in England near the Thames. In the beginning the heroine is a highwayman dressed as a boy and is in charge of a group of orphaned boys. She tries to rob a nobleman and he captures her and takes her to his home to be punished. When they go to spank her they figure out she is a she and he decides to keep her and train her to be a lady.

In the end she ends up being or looking like someone important that they were looking for all along.

Some other random things: I think she had her first "tub" bath and compared it to bathing in the Thames. I also remember her walking on the servant/valet's back that had given him severe pain for years and fixing it. I believe she had long red hair. I think the age difference was about 12-15 years between h/h.

I have posted about this book on several sites and am pretty sure this is NOT a Jane Feather book. I have read all the possible ones.

I would love to find this book. I have been looking for more than 3 years now! Any help would be great!

Hi everyone. I'm trying to find a novel that I read when I was younger so it might be from the 90s. I can't remember the exact time period of when it is set but I think medieval times. Here's what I can remember:

- a woman who is a type of mercenary that is tasked with protecting a lord (or something similar)
- the lord pretends that he isn't that good at fighting so she will stay close to him
- she doesn't wear dresses normally but when they go visit somewhere she has to put on a dress that I think is yellow

I know this isn't much to go but I've been trying to find it for years. I appreciate any help. thanks so much!

Hello, everyone. I'm new to the group but I've spent days looking through these threads and I must say I wish there was a true romance novel database for stuff like this. You all are truly amazing, though. It's impressive that so many books have been identified.

I'm looking for a book that's haunted me off and on for years. I remember searching for this book in 2001! Every once in awhile I think of it and will spend countless hours trying to find it. The heroine is named Kate (I think). I don't remember the hero's name. It may have been a Harlequin Presents book or one from Mills & Boone but I read it in the mid-90s and I don't actually remember. I don't remember much about the book but the hero was somebody famous and near the end of the book he does an interview on television and Kate is home watching. The interviewer asks him something about relationships and he says "You know who are, don't you, Kate?" Or something to that effect. It stands out to me so much because in the midst of all this, the heroine has morning sickness and they realize that she's pregnant. This is right at the end.

I wish I remembered more but my memory is terrible. I just remember really liking the book (which I'd borrowed from the library). When I first tried to find it, back when I was in college, I remember being desperate to read it again lol. It probably isn't even all that good. Who knows? :P But I'd very much love to read it again.

I am looking for a book I read back in the 90s. It featured a young woman who went on a wagon train west with her husband. I vaguely remember he may have been a bad guy (abusive?), and he died on the trip. She got to California and started a restaurant to make ends meet. She later started her own vineyard and got rich. I believe it was set in the early days of San Francisco. This is all I can remember of it, but it has been bothering me lately trying to remember the name of the book.

I'm looking for a historical romance but I don't remember much so there may be some mistakes. I remember she was a lady and he was a tradesman. He might have become a noble but I'm not sure. He's been in love with her for years and there's this one scene where he takes her to watch a cricket game. I think he plays with his workers. She needs to marry for some reason and because she's desperate or even ruined she can choose him now so he offers for her. She might also have been a bit of a tomboy.

Also I'd like to know which books #262 polliana in the original (part II) thread is looking for. Does anyone know?

Historical Romance- I haven’t read this in years: The story is about a Duke (Name starts with an A, I think) who had an arranged marriage. His wife was very shy and reserved. She meets his friend and his friend’s wife (who I think is an earl- their name starts with a T). She figures out that the Duke had been having an affair with Lady T. Lady T still tries to seduce the Duke but he broke it off before the book started because he felt so guilty. The Duchess throughout the book was miserable because she wanted him to love her but suspected that he didn’t because she knew he had been in love with Lady T. All the Duke wants is an heir. But, he ends up falling in love with the Duchess over time. They had been hurting each other emotionally thought the story. Been looking for this book for a long freaking time! Please help!

Hi! I am looking for book I read approximately 15 years ago. It is about a young woman who falls for her guardian.
What I remember: it is set sometime in the 1800s or early 1900s. the woman is discovered in a barn by her guardian when she is just a kid. She has violet eyes. He takes care of her even though she has a very strong temperament and is often disobedient. He provides a maid for her who takes care of her while he is away for work. They eventually fall in love, and have sex in the woods by a pond. Their relationship is very intense and passionate. They get married, but she is too headstrong for him and he leaves. At one point there is a party and she is well liked by everyone but he is irritated by how loud and flirtatious she is. They end up having a daughter (maybe named Rose?) and live happily ever after....
the cover of the book was light purple, with the author’s name in big writing and maybe a picture of a garden?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Thank you!

Hi Everyone. I'm trying to remember a name of a book I read in high school approximately to 15-17 years go. It is a paperback. Its young adult novel set in the 1980s. I believe it was published between 1990-2004. The cover is pink and I believe he front cover has a gray/ black photo. I would say now its a growing up story. Its about a girl in high school, I believe there are problems at home and she meets a boy. I believe the boy has a motorcycle already or buys/learns to ride during their relationship and he takes her on rides. I know there are themes of depression/dealing with suicide but I cannot remember if one of the main characters attempts it. I do remember that towards the end you get a sense that the girl feels stronger.

I've tried google but I'm unable to find anything.

Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

- note: the main characters were english or american. (And not viking)

Hi all,

I am new here and I was hoping I could gain some help with finding a book. I read this book around 10+ years ago and have been trying to find it for a couple of years. I don't that many details about it but I will describe whatever I remember.

The book starts with a girl dressed as a boy going aboard a ship without her brother's or family's knowledge. I forgot why though. Some of the crew members know that she is a girl and protect her. I think they wanted revenge for something. Their ship is then captured by Vikings or Celtics or Norsemen (I can't remember) but the ship is brought to another island.

The girl ends up catching the Chief's attention and he keeps her for himself. He does not know the secret she is hiding about her family. Eventually, her brother reaches the island and demands for her and then the secret is revealed. I remember a scene where the Chief's closest friend tells the heroine that when the hero (chief) is angry and shouting, then it's fine but when he is so angry that he does not say a word then it's not good.

I may not be entirely accurate in my description but that's what I remember. I hope someone is able to recognise it! Thanks in advance for any help.

hello,

I am very much new in this site and hoping you could help me.

It is a historical romance book where the heroine is forced to become a courtesan due to poverty. the hero is a duke, I think I am not that sure. the hero is the first customer of the heroine, so yes the heroine is a virgin.

There is a scene in the book where the heroine doesn't want the hero to discover that she is a virgin and with the advice of some courtesan she poked her, you know what(haha). but the hero still notices and knew that she is a virgin.

As I remember the other courtesan was friendly to her.

I really hope you can help me thank you in advance.

So i've been searching for this book. I'm not sure when was this published. This was one of Aunt's books. I was not able to read the ending part because the book lacked pages. So here are the things I remember from that book:

Character names:
Chloris/cloris- unladylike, black hair and green eyes, can ride a horse, in love with her friend who impregnated another friend. Her mother died in a horseback accident.

Quentin-a squire who was once in love with chloris/cloris' mother who has now shown affection to chloris who is her friend also.

Georgina Davenport-Quentin's possible wife?

Estelle-chloris' mother

The plot implied that quentin is a suspect for estelle's death. Chloris married her friend who impregnated another friend who is also a smuggler.

Please help me find this book. It was set in an era where people wear dresses and has harvest party something.

Hi I am new here and I would like help finding the title of a book I read about 16 years ago. The book cover has a man and woman dancing in front of a mansion. It is set in England and the first chapter starts off with the hero finding the heroine walking alone on a highway in the middle of a storm (think the woman escaped from an attempted rape from her stepdad/someone close to her). The guy picks her up and offers her a deal where she takes care of his mansion he is restoring since she has no place to live (Think the guy might have been an architect). Think it's a silhouette house book don't really remember. The title has mansion/towers in it. I really appreciate the help as the suspense as been bugging me for a long time. Thanks.

Hi!! New entry to the group :)
I really wanted help in finding this romance novel. I do not remember the name at all but plot I do somewhat. So the heroine come s to attend her father's funeral along with her other siblings and relatives. She didn't have good a relationship with her father and he was known to be rude.
So all the relatives have decided to sell the ranch and split the money, something that the heroine had agreed to do but after coming back home she starts to have second thoughts. So at the reading of the will she refuses to sell and the vote has to be unanimous. But a clause in her father's will is that only a male relative can inherit the ranch. So inorder to keep the ranch from getting sold she enters a marriage of convenience with the foreman ( i think) and her father's friend.
As the story progresses the heroine finds out that her father did lover her but just didn't know how to show it. And how her mother kept letters from him which increased the distance between them.
Her cousin comes to prove that the heroine's marriage is a sham and if she got married just to stall the sale they can go to court and continue with the sale. So she starts to flirt with hero.
Heroine starts to get jealous and insecurity creeps in and misunderstanding builds.
The story ends with clearing or all doubts and the fake marriage becomes the real thing.

Thanks, that is all I can remember, will love if someone can tell me the name and author of the book. :)

The book (I think set in England, not modern but do not remember the exact time) begins with a mid wife showing up to a manor where a woman named Anne is giving birth, Anne ends up dying, Annes husband is there. While the midwife is leaving she meets the husbands brother (who owns the manor I think) and faints. She ends up marrying him. I dont remember much after that except there is some mystery thing happening and the lord of the manner is very moody.

Hi I just joined.

I'm looking for a historical romance about a woman who, may or may not be a widow, needs to pay off debts to a gross "cousin" (I think his name is Dickie, but dont quote me). So she decides to find a lover/paramour to help pay her debt. She finds this guy (pretty sure he is a Duke or Viscount) and the hit it off but she doesnt tell him where she lives because she doesnt want a permanent thing.
He ends up finding out anyways and sends letters and gifts through her butler. The "cousin" comes into her room announced and ask where she got the money and calls a slut/whore and the Duke hears him and tells him he will ruin him if he ever goes his wife again. And they end up together.

Someone please help me cause I'm seriously gonna lose it

Hi, I'm looking for the name of a book and author. I think it started with the protagonist getting into a car and driving really far to check into a motel. She pays in advance for a month and doesn't seem to want to live. Doesn't eat and stuff like that. It turns out she's wanting to be where her daughter died or where her dead daughter last visited. Someone working at the hotel starts bringing her food. Anyone?

Hey I’m looking for this historical romance book I probably read 15-10 years ago. I believe it takes place in an inn. It a romance between a widow and a viscount or Villar. They have an affair there and he continually emphasizes that he can’t have a kid with her. But when they are to separate he recklessly doesn’t take the necessary steps to stop her possibly becoming pregnant. In the end he rides to her home on a horse and she tells him there is nothing (no pregnancy) between them but he still wants to marry her. Please help me find it.

Western historical romance - From what I remember the rancher has a 10-12 year old son who doesn't get along with the woman the rancher married a second time for the sake of his ranch and son. The heroine assumes that the first wife died and we notice the hero and his son don't mention her at all. They hero finds a wild horse and puts him in the corral and asks the son not to go near him. The son in a moment of rebellion goes to ride him. The heroine rushes after him to save him but gets caught up in the barbed wire fence and falls to the ground in pain. The son rushed to get his father who cuts off the barbed wire and takes her home. The son is remorseful. Towards the end a lady comes visiting wearing a fancy outfit. She tells the heroine that she's the wife. The hero doesn't explain anything so the heroine packs and runs out to town to stay with her friends who own the boarding house I think. The hero then comes for her and explains that his wife ran out on them. The first wife demands money and he gives her everything he has so that she'll never come visiting again

Hello all,
This is a book I read a couple of years ago and I am not able to remember the name of the book or the author :/ It's about the heroine meeting the hero during some sort of celebration / festival and sharing a kiss with him. The next time she sees the hero, it turns out that it is her roommate's fiance. But ultimately we get to know that he is actually the roommate's cousin and she was lying only to get the brother of the heroine to notice her!
It would be great if anyone can remember the name of this book!

I read this book awhile ago and now can’t remember the title. It was a romance novel and the hero’s name was Mackenzie (MAC for short). He finds out at the end he has a daughter named Kayla. The book is about him going to a cabin and the heroine already being there. As a special forces type guy he believes she is sent there to trap and kill him. They then get trapped at the cabin. Does this book sound familiar to anyone? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi all I’m new here!:) I would really love to have some help finding a historical romance novel that I’ve read on Wattpad which was deleted, and also which I assumed that user had copyrighted from the original author!

Context of the book:
- Main characters are John and Jane/Mary (I think) who are best friends
- Jane was always in love with John despite him regularly boasting about his sex/love life to her, which really hurt her feelings
- One day, John came to Jane and proposed to her in order to help him secure his inheritance and future as a Count/Duke/Earl(?)
- Jane reluctantly agreed to marry John while concealing her true feelings
- Later on in the book, Jane fell from a flight of stairs and miscarried while she listened in on John’s “confession” to his ex-lover at a bar/brothel
- In actual fact, John was guilt-tripped into “practicing” reading a pre-arranged script by his scheming ex-lover when he came to have a clean break with her
- Jane lost her trust in John, but it was slowly rebuilt over time in the book
- Eventually Jane, John, and his father successfully defeated John’s ex-lover and her plans to destroy Jane’s relationship with John
- The book ended with John’s father passing away due to cancer, which he hid from both Jane and John.
- Both of them also named their first-born son after John’s father to honor him

That’s all that I can remember for now!😅 I’ve been desperately searching this book for ages and I hope someone here has any idea which book I’m describing!😭 Thank you all who took their time to read my long message and are trying to help!:)

Hi there! I’ve scoured these threads (and even answered a few!) and searched the rest of the internet and have come up short...let’s see if you guys can help me.
I read this book probably 10-15 years ago. I got it from the library, and I *think* it was a Harlequin or something like it (didn’t have the Harlequin red/purple/blue/white on the cover). What I remember:

-TIME TRAVEL
-Heroine and her twin live in current times. As a child, Heroine receives a flower from a random old man after a ballet recital (turns out to be the hero)
-Heroine goes back in time to ~1940s or 50s by getting her picture taken by an old camera
-Hero is a Doctor in the past
-Heroine gets yanked back to the present by her sister calling her name
-Each time she time travels her heart gives out a little more, eventually the last time Dr.Hero spends an hour or more giving CPR to keep her alive
-Heroine stages last time travel to look like a suicide so her sister won’t call for her
-Sister and brother in law run into Heroine and Dr.Hero in the present as old people in the end. Heroine shushes her sister to keep her from saying her name, but she sees that she’s happy

Please y’all....this has been driving me BANANAS for about 10 years now.

Edit 1: It is possible that it’s not a camera that sends her back, but a clock...I’m vaguely remembering a cuckoo clock that might have been “the thing”

Hi Prelisine your book is Ruthless by Anne Stuart

Few outsiders will ever witness the dark misdeeds of the Heavenly Host. And among this secret society, where exiled Georgian aristocrats gather to indulge their carnal desires, fewer still can match the insatiable appetite of their chief provocateur, the mysterious Viscount Rohan.

Pursuit of physical pleasure is both his preferred pastime and his most pressing urge, until he encounters the fascination of a woman who won't be swayed. And while his dark seduction appalls the pure and impoverished Elinor Harriman, she finds herself intrigued...and secretly drawn to the man behind the desire.

Regency or Victorian England. Hero comes upon the heroine in her stable. She's bent over a gate, "cooing" to an unknown animal. It turns out to be a cat which he wrestles with and holds while she sketches it. I think she's an artist or blue stocking? He wishes she would talk to him the way she did the cat. And he's not happy about the cat hair on his jacket...that's all I can remember except that there might have been some previous animosity between the hero and heroine.

Hey! I am trying to find the title for a romance about a guy and girl who meet as seniors in high school. She's super sheltered and has had a rough upbringing by her father. He's super popular and it makes her a target. They email each other regularly. At one point he is far away and uses computers in his daily work. I think it's government-related, like computer science or accounting. She essentially doesn't get to leave the house. Looking for a book where the heroin is a slave from west africa and she is of mixed race I think. She is young and beautiful and gains notoriety. The h is sold to sort of a harem I think. Can't remember much but she falls in love with a good guy and towards the end of the book they agree to meet up at a country house (maybe) but the hero (or heroine) looses his/her memory and doesnt show up. I dont remember much but the book spans the heroines life from a teenage slave to adulthood.
Its a very old historical novel that has a bluish cover I think.

Hey guys, I'm new here. I'm searching for a book that I have conveniently forgotten the name and author of. It is a Harlequin romance - probably intrigue or suspense series. The two main characters are law enforcement partners who go undercover as a couple. During one undercover assignment, the female - I'm thinking her name is Caroline - is attacked and assaulted. Her partner finds her after the attack. She ends up taking a different position in the department because she cannot trust herself to go undercover anymore. An assignment comes up where a dealer will only do business with the husband and wife team that the main characters once were. Caroline forces herself to go back undercover because she knows that's the only way they can make a deal. I have more details but don't want to write the whole book here lol. Does anyone have any idea what the book is?

Please help if you can.

The book I'm looking for is historical. I was thinking it is Julie Garwood (but I think I've looked through all hers and can't find it) because I think it might take place in Scotland or the Highlands, but I can't be sure.

The heroine dresses as a boy and begrudgingly joins the camp of the hero. The hero is confused why he's attracted to the boy.

Any help would be super appreciated!!

I am having a hard time remembering a book I read 10 to 12 years ago.

This girl travels with her best friend and the father of her best friend to an estate/ castle. the best friend is betrothed to man that has just inherited said place. main man has an accent. British or Irish or Scottish ... hard to remember In the beginning he gives her crap for her wet wool dress she is wearing as she tries to make vegetable soup since he has no other food. he runs to town for meat pies. oof. I remember only bits and pieces. no names.

the main girl is from a wealthy family (I think) but under the disguise as her best friends hand maiden or something so she could go with her for support.

Main man owner of said castle and betrothed to her best friend is interested in main girl not the best friend though. he was never happy finding out his betrothal to the best friend when they showed up on his door step.

best friends father becomes ill and they send for doctor. doctor bleeds the man with leeches ( I think) and other unorthodox things. everyone was mad.

a horse gives birth..

main girl and main man flirt throughout the beginning of book although she says snarky comments to him and reminds herself he is supposed to marry her best friend. Best friend falls in love with librarian boy or some kind of similar occupation.

Main character I believe had dyed her hair in the beginning and also had put fake freckles on her face or tried to lighten her freckles with lemon juice but I'm not sure which.

trying to think of my memories of this book is difficult. sorry I remember nothing much about the book. seemed colonial ish period MAYBE I cannot place any of the accents.

Main girl and Main guy end up marrying in the end I think.

they do have sexual relations in the book but very romantic nothing raunchy. compares her wet dress from swimming to a peach with a tissue wrapped around it lol. Im sorry its so hard to remember and its driving me nuts because I want to read it again/own it.

I don't remember the author or the book cover because it was a used hard back book with the book sleeve missing so I never looked at that.

please help if you can! thank you!

Hey guys. I'm new here and I've been wracking my brain trying to remember a book I read a few years ago. Pls help!!
So I don't remember the title or any names but just the plot line. It's a regency romance about a man (I think he has a title) and a woman (I think she's American). The hero has a dark cloud over him I can't remember why but it had something to do with his family and everyone stays away from him. I don't remember how they met but for some reason he's intent on marrying her. I remember he made love to her in a couch and the girl's brother walks in when he's zipping her up (the horror). So later when they're arguing about her not wanting to get married he says something like "for all we know you could be carrying my child". Anyway there's a side story of a death. Some woman fell down the stairs but it was later revealed she was pushed down by the man with a "roaring voice" as the hero's ward describes him. Yh about his ward I think they're related and once she fainted and he got scared. She'd also been giving him a hard time. I also remember the heroine painted something and no one seemed to know but the hero said it was her because the colours matched her personality( or something like that). At the end they get engaged and sure enough she's pregnant

Hi, I have been looking for this book for a long time, I think it's a western historical romance about a marriage of convenience/arranged marriage where the hero only marries to have an heir and is not interested in love and it is not long before they consummate their marriage.
(might have been the same day they married) they might have gone to an inn or something can't really remember. it might have involved a mining town. it might also have been labeled as a clean romance but was the opposite?

if you know of anything that is all similar please let me know as I don't know if I mixed up the details.

Thank you!

Looking for a book I read in the mid nineties. Set maybe in Europe, early twentieth century? Could be South America! There’s a Revolution and a scene where the village blacksmith dances around a bonfire with a dead nun who’s been dug up? And then he’s crippled. and then in the next generation, a kind of nice boy kidnaps his rich half sister for a ransom because he’s angry at being poor, and they fall in love and he feels terrible because she doesn’t know they’re related, but it turns out they aren’t anyway! Might be mixing up two books, no idea!

Looking for a book read in early 2000s but could be published much earlier. Historical, maybe mid-late 1800s
Heroine -Josephine living in America, on the run from outlaw husband, working as pickpocket and dance hall girl. She’s an orphan. Picks the pocket of the Hero (Edward? Edwin?) and he catches her and forces her to marry him. He’s the heir to duke/earldom in England and needs a bride to inherit. They go to England, outlaw husband follows and tries to hunt her down. Heroine searches for birth family who turn out to be British aristocracy.
I remember so many details but can’t find with google/other list!! Any help is appreciated!

I'm looking for a book I read many years ago... I don't remember main characters names...
2 main characters fell in love but were due to be married to other people (woman main character to man main characters best friend low and behold and our main man was married to a gentile woman from (maybe France) with the last name Dubois and her brothers name is etienne Dubois) weddings happen, later the wife of our main man kills herself and then (maybe the plague?) Takes the husband and best friend.... it's a historical romance I'd love to be able to re read if anyone knows what I am talking about I'd be hugely grateful!

Okay so I am looking for a historical romance novel about a lady who I think was in some kind of accident and now suffers from headaches during storms. She gets caught in a storm and has to take shelter where she is discovered by a gentleman. they are forced to spend the night together, she's is passed out and soaked, so the guy undresses her and uses his body warmth to warm her back up. When morning comes I think he takes her home where her father forces them to marry. That's all I can remember

Hero probably has some rivalry with heroine's family and should stay away from her but cant help himself n stalks her.
Heroine is tortured in her past by her relatives but is strong. She has a guy best friend. Anyways the hero at one point saves heroine from gettting raped and also has anal with her near the dead body of the guy he just murdered to save her. Also she is a virgin ( except her anal abuse n this). And the book 1 ends when she is trying to write suicide letter for her best friend before doing it and the hero stops her and blackmails her to go with him.
Book 1 ends.
Story might sound creepy right now but it was really a nice read. But i am goin nuts not able to remember it. I know the brief i gave is sketchy.

I am a new member here. PLS HELP with the title. It was a regency novel I read some years back and I couldn't recall the title.
The h was 17yrs who lived with her mother. They needed housing or so. The mother was helped by the H father (who was a member of the ton, maybe an earl, couldn't remember) who made her their housekeeper. The H's mother hated them because she thought the H's mother was her husband's mistress. On one particular day when H parents were out, the H met with the heoine. I think the Hero's mother suspected something so sent her son to school or so. Unfortunately for the heroine, she became pregnant. When she discovered she was pregnant, she went to tell the H mother, but she chased her away and I think gave her a check for going away. Meanwhile heroine's mother was being secretive about h's father and being excited about it but keeping it a secret from the daughter cos she wanted it to be a surprise. The unknown father was a member of the to too. So the mother went on a secret journey.

Unfortunately on her way back home, she died. Years later, the h has become successful, a dancer/singer, couldn't be sure with her son in tow and a kind of big friend/bodyguard. She met with the H again, H installed them in his house when discovered he had a son. H was now the Earl since father died since.
They had to backdate marriage certificate so the h would not be mocked by the ton. Heroine later met with father at a party and they reunited. Heroine was named after the father. She became pregnant which (she was advised against cos she had problem delivering her first)for H again which turned out to be highly risky. H was scared and started employing qualified doctors from all over the world, but she later delivered safely.

I will really appreciate it if someone can help me out.
to them.

Please help! I’m looking for a book I read probably in 2005/2006, but was probably written in the 90s. It was a historical romance and either a duology or two part book.

The first book starts off with the heroine being separated from her brother (maybe twin) because their family has rebelled against the rulers. While fleeing she is captured by a marquis/court magician who she thinks is the villain, but turns out is really the hero. He takes her back to his family estate, and she starts to fall for him. I remember a specific scene about them arriving back at his home soaking wet and muddy and she gets clean in a beautiful bathroom that’s the colors of a peacock. He helps her overthrow the rulers and at the end of the first book it turns out he had also found her brother and kept him hidden to keep him safe during the rebellion.

In the second book, the heroine has moved to court following the rebellion. She has struggles trying to learn proper court etiquette and who to trust. She doesn’t get to see the Marquis much since he’s helping sort things out after the rebellion and she isn’t sure about her feelings for him. I remember her receiving a sapphire ring and not knowing the significance of which finger it should go on. And then she lies to a courtier about her favorite color being lavender because she doesn’t want him to know the truth, and then has to have her maid sew lavender ribbons on her dress. In the end it turns out the ring was from the Marquis, and she realizes that she loves him.

Hello, I might not have enough information for anyone to help me, but this is my last chance.
Western, mail order bride (or bride from a bride service). Heroine starts out living with sister and her sister's husband, who assaults heroine (thinking he's getting two brides for one). She goes out west (midwest maybe), to marry through a bride-finding service. Hero has pre-teen daughter. All I can really remember is the daughter steals the bride's shoes right before the wedding, and the bride says in a quiet aside to the female witness that it's a family tradition to start out as they intend to go on, barefoot and pregnant.
I also remember there being a scene about bathing, where the daughter is embarrassed for her father to see her, but still doesn't want anything to do with the bride.
I believe I read this about 15 or 20 years ago, but no idea when it was published.
Thanks for any help anybody might be able to give!

Ok so I read this book between 2016 and 2020. Her is what I remember about it:
- male lead is a warrior or mercenary
- has a sister who he brings to meet his wife
- marries woman and gains a rundown castle
- female lead lives a life of Luxuray and is forced to marry this guy by the king or something like that

The scenes that I remember is that in the beginning they get to this castle on the dowry land only to find out it is in shambles and needs a lot of work. The female lead has never done hard labor before but tries to help. Later she sees a mouse in the makeshift shelter and screams, husband comes in and rolls his eyes kind of attitude.
Sister of the male tells the female lead how growing up it was only the two of them, and they got into a bad situation (possibly living in a brothel for a little while) until the male lead got them out.
The castle also has an issue with bandits, who like to raid the castle supplies. The male warrior tells the bandits if they ever come back they will need to deal with him cause he is the protector of the townspeople (anyone who pledges loyalty to him) and the castle.

Hi! Looking for a book I can't seem to remember. Set somewhere in the 1900s.
Some scenes: (SPOILERS)
- Heroine pretends to be a guy to work under this very rich and influential man.
- Heroine has a friend group who protests and supports women's rights.
- Heroine was forced to read off a speech meant to go against the people protesting, and heroine's friend group led it, which led her to feel very bad.
- Heroine's sister and her neighbor confesses their undying love to each other, and plans to run away. She finds out because she came home late from work and had to hide under a bush.
- While going through papers in a safe, she got locked in with the hero, the male mc.
- Heroine has to change in her dad's (I think) clothes and hide where she's going to her friends, because in truth, she works as a guy, and women can't work yet.

Hello, I've been looking for this book for long time and can't seem to remember the name. It's a historical, medieval romance novel about a girl named nadine who travels back in time to the past, this happens after she visits a fortune teller who tells her she's going to meet a man ( I don't remember this part) anyway, she travels back in time meets the guy and it turns out he's someone of importance; I think he was a knight ( I don't remember all the details), then there comes a time where she has to choose between continuing the life she has built there or going back to her former life. Please if anyone knows any story that is similar please let me know, thank you.

Hey all! I'm looking for a book from the 90's (maybe?) The main character is a red headed woman who moves to a small town to teach. The main male character has a Greek gods name (maybe Adonis) and his whole family is named after Greek gods. He's a builder, builds his own home but isn't very smart and she teaches him to read. May have been a Harlequin?
Thanks in advance!

I’m looking for a Christian Romance that I read probably in the later 90s or early 2000s. It was set hundreds of years ago. A King assigned a grown soldier to be the bodyguard for his young daughter. He watches her grow up and they end up falling in love and getting married in secret. I remember one time she gets into a corral with a wild horse, he protects her but is injured. The King has him whipped because she got hurt. She is held captive after her marriage and realizes she’s pregnant.

Hi everyone, I'm new here and hope someone can help me with a book that I am trying to remember for years... I read it probably about 15-20 years ago, may be around the year 2000 - 2007... the detail might be way off, but here is the plot scene that I can remember:

- It may be a series, contemporary setting and military/special ops team involved.

- The male character was missing or taken as prisoner by the enemy and the female character/heroine who might/might not also be in the same occupation of military/special ops member, is looking for her husband/boyfriend that was taken prisoner.

- The male character while being p.o.w., was forced to have sex with another woman who is also a p.o.w. at the same place, otherwise she/both of them will be killed.

- After being rescued, the woman become obsessed with the male character to the point that she also become delusional/lie that she is pregnant with his baby as a result of their time during p.o.w.

- The woman later also attempting to kill the heroine.

I am really grateful if someone know what is the name of the title and its author 🥰. Many thanks in advance.

Please there was this romantic novel I read I can't remember their names but I can remember the story completely. A doctor wakes up in the body of another guy in the past. The doctor wakes up in Medieval Scotland, he finds out that his wife doesn't like him and the death of the man he's occupying his body is very strange and probably planned. He finds out that he is involved in a conflict between two families, I believe that his wife's name is Majorie, she is quite war like her father and mum and many of her household were killed by her husband's family and she was forced to marry her husband by the lairds of Scotland. Soon she discovers that the man who wakes up from the rockslide that ends her evil husbands life is not the same guy. They slowly fall in love, other characters are a brother and sister who are like her parents to her. The brother is a warrior who once choked on a piece of meat which the doctor had to perform emergency surgery on. The sister once tried to kill the doctor by setting him on a leaking boat. The doctor finds out that the man who's body he's occupying has a more eviler brother whose goal is to rape the dead man's wife!
There is also an old woman herbalist who's medical knowledge and invention is strange for a person of her century. At the end he finds out that this was his mom who died in a plane crash when he was only 8 an ambitious doctor of her time, though he loses her again. One thing leads to another and the man's brother tried to kill the doctor who then returns to the present world and finds out that the reason he got into an accident and transmigrated into a lairds body in medieval Scotland was because he's girlfriend cheated on him with his best friend which caused him to have an accident. Willing himself he returns to medieval Scotland to his true lover. The novel wraps up with the fact that the man's brother and father died. Also the sister who tried to drown the doctor and was responsible for the rockslide that killed the man whose body the doctor was occupying reveals before she killed the man's father and herself how she let the man's father in to take his revenge against Majorie's family.
PLEASE I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW THE NAME OF THE NOVEL THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
