I recently noticed that two of my pending books were books that I had mooched before, read, decided I didn't need to keep, put in my inventory, got mooched, and then I decided I missed them and did want to have a copy around. They were Replay (what's in a name) and Guns, Germs and Steel that I thought was a bit dry when first reading it but then decided the idea and the background were to good to miss. I also re-mooched Being Dead.
On a related note, I gave away 6 copies of Slaughterhouse-Five because they were wanted by many people and easy to get. And then I got curious - I would like to read it sometime. And of course now they're not so abundant anymore...
What books have you re-mooched?

I could definitely imagine doing so with one that I haven't read. Since my To-Read list is sooooo incredibly long, if someone was in dire want of a book that I had, but hadn't read, I might send it to them. In that case I would need to re-mooch.
If it was a book I had read, though? Usually I am very certain whether a book is a keeper for me, so if it did go off to live with someone else it would be because they borrowed it from my permanent collection. I'm more likely to buy a new copy, for fear that a re-mooched one would be in worse condition than my first one and I get very attached to my copies.
ETA: Oh, and I've definitely mooched books for myself after I've borrowed other people's. It's not the same thing, but emotionally it feels like the same thing to me.

So far, only one! It was just an historical romance I thought I wouldn't read again, but after I sent it on its way, I decided I really would like to read it again! It was Lord of Shadowhawk. I enjoyed the vulnerability of the hero.
Now, though, I have it on Scribd, so I'll be putting the second one up for mooch again!
