Greetings to you all:
I am pleased to share a jpeg of my blooming irises. They were dormant for several years but opened up a few days ago after several weeks of very hard rain.
I'm so proud of these irises. They're heirlooms that my mother cherished as they were given to her by my grandmother.
The primary pic of the irises is linked on my profile pageat https://www.librarything.com/profile/Solo-Star
I'll be reading William Shear's "The Gardener's Iris Book" to learn more about caring for these lovely flowers. I feel so privileged.

My apologies for the lack of images. I tried.

Here, I'll do it for you this once
The carrot/angle brackets also known as greater than and less than symbols enclose the url string which has also been put in quotation marks and preceeded with img src=
like this:
img src="http://pics.cdn.librarything.com/picsizes/82/37/823792b09bf01fe636c48386b41434b41716b42.jpg"
You find the url string when you right click on the photo and choose Properties.
I've printed out much of the instructions at HelpThing>Html tips for my own reference.
Hey, that image is a welcome sight. My world is still mostly brown, with just hints of color to come.
I did clip forsythia fronds and found they've opened this morning.

Thank you. That is very nice of you. Thanks. :-) I'll go tinker with it and see how it works.

Thank you, fuzzi. I am enjoying them a lot. Now if I can eek in more time to read my gardening irises book by Shear, I might be able to take better care of them, move them, add others.

I have several iris beds, and they do fairly well. I spent about an hour on Saturday weeding out my main iris bed, as the honeysuckle was making inroads, bad!
I'll post some pictures once they bloom, but it will probably be a couple weeks, at least.

>7 Solo-Star: go to my thread from last year, here:

There are photos of my irises posted there, I think in #28, and #33.
