Books that do not have DDC info in the Book details (only the Work details) are not linking to the MDS (Melvil-Dewey System) Table in Your Books.
Examples:
OK - The Last Unicorn -- "813/.54" in my catalog
OK - Gathering Blue -- "813.54" in my catalog
Broken - The Kryptos Trap -- "813.54" in my catalog (only in Work details, not Book details).

I suspect that's because (as you know) the book-level and work-level DDC can vary, and the expected behavior is to take you to the page for your own book-level DDC, rather than routing you to the work-level one which may differ. So it's passing along the null here, which of course fails. Falling back to the work-level in cases where there is no book-level would be reasonable, but it certainly shouldn't do so when a book-level classification is available.

>2 lorax: I didn't know this off-hand, but that definitely makes sense.
It would be nice to have it "fall back" to the work level if book-level DDC is not available. This may be how it's worked before, since another member told us it was working differently for them. Possibly a bug (in the different behavior sense).

Is there actually a bug here or is this an RSI? I'm inclined to the latter, but this should either be bumped or closed.

The one I bumped, you mean?
It's only a problem if you expect a fallback (use work-level Dewey when book-level Dewey is absent) that isn't actually there. It's not at all strange and I personally don't think it's a problem.

ah, thanks for clarifying Collectorator and lorax.
>7 Collectorator: You're right. If I click to edit the DDC in my catalog and re-save it, the link to the DDC table works fine.
Incidentally having issues with all DDC links in my catalog unless I edit/save them right now, but that's a separate thing...
closing!

This was actually a problem where the green links did not link to the chart; it has been fixed.
