Hi. My name is Robbin Miller. I published my first picture book titled, "Playgroup Time." It is about my son meeting a new friend at a structured playgroup at an early intervention program where he cries on his first day. Through a few itty bitty mishaps and adventures, my son demonstrates to his new friend how much fun playgroup is to play with other children.

The theme is promoting inclusion and friendships at an early age.

Hi, I am the author of Nether Here Nor There: A Minecraft Adventure. I've just published it as an e-bookon Smashwords and Amazon, and was wondering what is the best way for new authors to obtain reviews?

If any of you other authors would like a review, and this book interests you, perhaps we could review each others' books?

Nov 17, 2015, 11:41pm

I have a children's book that could use some attention! It's called "A Midsummer's Glimmer," and it would be pretty awesome if someone reading this gave it a try, or if you knew a blog that might be interested in reviewing or promoting it :)

Here's the blurb and Amazon link:
Every year on midsummer's night, seven-year-old fairies are sent into the forest neighboring Ariashon, their kingdom. The magic of that place and the night's enchantment unite to give color to what have been plain throughout the fairies' whole lives—their wings!
This year is Kiara's turn, the youngest and most mischievous of Ariashon's princesses, and she must be careful, be curious, and be brave if she wants to earn as many colors as possible for her wings.
This is a prequel to the Paranormal Romance, In Your Wings, explaining how Kiara came to have the most vibrant wings of her people. It can also be read as a stand-alone for younger audiences.

Author: Roxanne Orgill
Illustrator: Francis Vallejo (me)
Publisher: Candlewick Press
Release Date: March 8, 2016

What happens when you invite as many jazz musicians as you can to pose for a photo in 1950s Harlem? Playful verse and glorious artwork capture an iconic moment for American jazz.

When Esquire magazine planned an issue to salute the American jazz scene in 1958, graphic designer Art Kane pitched a crazy idea: how about gathering a group of beloved jazz musicians and photographing them? He didn’t own a good camera, didn’t know if any musicians would show up, and insisted on setting up the shoot in front of a Harlem brownstone. Could he pull it off? In a captivating collection of poems, Roxane Orgill steps into the frame of Harlem 1958, bringing to life the musicians’ mischief and quirks, their memorable style, and the vivacious atmosphere of a Harlem block full of kids on a hot summer’s day. Francis Vallejo’s vibrant, detailed, and wonderfully expressive paintings do loving justice to the larger-than-life quality of jazz musicians of the era. Includes bios of several of the fifty-seven musicians, an author’s note, sources, a bibliography, and a foldout of Art Kane’s famous photograph.

Hi All,
Lizzie in the Land Beyond and Snail's Pace are both YA sci-fi fantasy books available for free on Smashwords this month. I would also be happy to provide hard copies for honest reviews.

Captured by witches, kidnapped by a dwarf, enraptured by river sprites -- will Lizzie ever find her way home? And if she does... will she want to go?

Snail's Pace is a novella which throws Victorian orphan Susannah into the challenging diversity of an alien spaceship. Can Susannah survive as governess to a snail child? Snail’s Pace is a quirky science fantasy, a “comedy of manners that is unlike any you've read” according to Lisa DuMond of SF Site

Complete with duct tape, wasp spray, and a healthy dose of sexual tension, MURIEL AVENUE SLUTS is a decidedly feminist coming-of-age story with a dark edge and plenty of heart. #stopslutshaming

Here is a beautiful book for children and adults to read. This is a feel good book. It is about a bald Princess! I am a Breast Cancer Survivor and I wrote about the challenges of losing my hair through the eyes of beautiful little girl. A must read for children who feel they are different.

About book:

In a beautiful kingdom, hidden beyond the Enchanted Forest, lived a young princess named Ella. She was different from other princesses, Ella had no hair. She often tries to hide her head with scarves and headbands and doesn't like looking into mirrors. Ella always dreams of one day exploring beyond the majestic doors of the castle. However, to do that, she must pass through the Grand Hall, but there are so many dreaded mirrors on the walls. These mirrors are the guardians of the castle, and will not let anyone pass unless they are recognized.

Join Ella on her first adventure through the Grand Hall! Why don't the mirrors know Ella, and what will she have to do to leave her room and explore?

I will open the door, take a deep breath and walk outside. I will make sure I hold my head high. "There is nothing to be afraid of, right Molly?" Molly smiled and agreed, and off Ella went to the Grand Hall.

As she began walking down the Grand Hall, the big Mirror stopped her and asked, "Who Are You?" Princess Ella frowned and said, "It's me, Princess Ella." "Oh no, you're not. You don't look like Princess Ella. Go back; you are not allowed in these halls," shouted Big Mirror.

But then she meets gorgeous loner, Jared Lorn, and falls madly in love. There is only one problem. Jared is not exactly human. He's a Nephilim, an angel/human hybrid, descended from a cursed line of fallen angels known as the Watchers.

Having a half-demon boyfriend who's under a curse from God can be tough enough. But then Grace decides that she wants to help free Jared from the curse by killing his angel father, Azazel, who is bound up in the Abyss, where he will be judged at the End of Days.

She has a powerful ally in her guardian angel Ariel, who has given her a weapon: a Song that can tame demons. Hi, I'm offering free PDF copies of my clean YA ghost story Lost in the Shadows. I am hoping for reviews posted to Amazon, GR, LT, or anywhere else you might feel inspired to post. Please email me at Thanks!

It's not uncommon for people to go missing in a vast and wild place like Alaska. But in a rainy forest just south of Juneau, it seems to happen more often than usual.

'Don't go hiking in the woods around Shadow Creek.' That's what parents in the small town of Kane have told their teenagers for nearly a hundred years. Because if ever a place deserves its name, Shadow Creek does. The trees grow taller and closer together than elsewhere, casting the forest into deep gloom. Ferns and shrubs seem to swallow trails and mosses cover everything else.

Shadow Creek is a beautiful and tempting place, but there's also something menacing about it. Everyone in town knows the story of the Witch of Shadow Creek, although few suspect it's anything more than "just a story."

When Jack Strader and his dad move from California to reopen the Shadow Creek Lodge, they're just looking for a change – a change of scenery, and a change of pace. But Jack's about to find out that Shadow Creek is a place where the border between this world and the next is sometimes thin.

Hi, I am looking for reviewers for the first 2 books in The Adventures of George and Flanagan series - 'The Headmaster's Cave' & 'The Bone Whisperer'
The Headmaster's Cave:
No one goes into The Headmaster’s Cave.
George Stewart is no hero, but when his friend disappears he must confront his deepest fears to rescue Dougie and finally uncover the mystery of The Headmaster’s Cave.
The 100th anniversary of the disappearance of seven children and their Headmaster is approaching. The knowledge that the infamous Headmaster Henry Morris, George’s ancestor, may have been implicated in their disappearance has haunted his family for generations. When George and Dougie receive an unexpected email stating that the mystery has been finally solved, Dougie and Katie try to persuade George to journey with them. But not even the enticement of uncovering the mystery can tempt George to follow the word of a stranger to the dangerous and ‘haunted’ cave. Only when Dougie goes missing, will George and his friend Katie, accompanied with his dog Flanagan, journey to rescue their friend.
On their way, they must not only battle their fears, but overcome the local bullies, nature's deadly obstacles, and Old Maggie and her dog pack. But that’s nothing compared to the terror that awaits them in The Headmaster’s Cave, when the mystery is finally revealed.
The Bone Whisperer:
Who couldn't resist the lure of a treasure map and the prospect of untold riches?
But, as George and Flanagan are about to discover, treasure hunting is a dangerous business. The stakes couldn't be higher as Tam McMaster, local bigwig and 'first man of Ballymagee', plans to build a new property development exactly where 'X' marks the spot. Hello Library Thing members!
I’m a writer making the switch from traditionally published (seven books, with two anthologies edited) to indie publishing. I taught Creative Writing at the university level for fifteen years. I’m now going indie and really excited about it! Finally, I get to focus on the genre that I have read my whole life and really love! It started with The Water Babies, went on to the Narnia books, and has just carried on. Maggie Stievater is a current favorite author. Francis Hardinge is also an extraordinary YA fantasy writer. It’s so interesting to ask myself as a writer that perennial question of How can I make this new? How can I make this fresh?

If any of you are interested in reviewing my forthcoming book, I’d be delighted! Here are details.

Title: Jorrie and the Skyhorse, Book 1 of the Five Gates trilogy
Author: Zoë Landale, Publisher: Salish Sea Publications
Length: 80,000 words
Genre: Young Adult fantasy
Sexual content: none
Release date: March 21, 2019

Blurb: Strange creatures slip through the dangerous Five Gates that open onto remote Satter Island. When Jorrie runs away from home to Satter Island, she bonds—inconveniently and irrevocably—with a wolfhound. After the dog is blasted with a fatal curse, Jorrie, aided by an ancient skyhorse, must reclaim her magical talent in time to try to save the dog and herself. But untaught, and on the run from a dark magic user who wants her dead, can Jorrie regain her power fast enough?

A book for horse lovers from teenagers upwards!

Winston – A Horse’s Tale
One for horse lovers from teenagers upwards! Winston is a good-looking palomino horse whose life involves several different owners and many adventures. As you read his story, told by Winston himself, you will appreciate horse ownership from the horse’s point of view. Born on a country property in Australia, Winston tells of his breaking-in and education and the different people he encounters – good, bad and ignorant. As well as his own story, Winston includes the experiences of other horses he meets along life’s way.

Whether it’s jumping, eventing, hunting or just hacking, Winston tries hard to please his rider. Follow his successes and his failures from his breaking-in to his show jumping win. It is an eventful life – the story of one Australian horse out of thousands, but one that you will remember.

Hello, I am looking for readers for my clean medieval YA romance novel, Desperate Forest. I will send you a free PDF copy in exchange for an honest review on Goodreads or Amazon. Here's the synopsis:

A daring escape. An ominous forest. An unexpected alliance.

For nineteen years, Princess Roselynn’s life has been three things: Safe, comfortable, and predictable. But when her father is murdered and she uncovers a plot to end her life, she must leave her home and take her chances in a treacherous forest—all to stay alive and be reunited with the man she loves.

Along the way, she encounters a group of outlaws, each with their own secrets and purpose. But who can she trust? Jay, the enigma whose tough exterior and conflicting actions both deter and intrigue her? Gavin, the former knight, trying to right the wrongs of her own broken kingdom, all while risking his safety? Laurel, the cold young woman with the shadowy past who sees her arrival as a threat?

Roselynn soon finds the lines between ally and enemy blurred, as dangers and sinister warnings cause her to question what she knows and where her heart lies. Can she find the courage she needs to save her kingdom and herself, or will she lose everything to the dark forest?

Please email me at or reply here if you are interested in receiving an ARC!

Thank you,

Hi Amazing Readers!!! I am looking for some readers for my Young Adult Dark Fantasy Dreaming of Wonderland Series. I will send you a free PDF copy in exchange for an honest review on Goodreads and/or Amazon. You can request 1 or both books in the series.

Titles: The Search for Alice (Dreaming of Wonderland #1) and Embracing the Looking-Glass (Dreaming of Wonderland #2)
Author: Amy Koto
# of copies: 25
Format: PDF (Books are also free on Kindle Unlimited)
Time: 3-4 Weeks if possible but doesn't have to be!
Review: Goodreads, Amazon, and/or book blog

The Search for Alice (Book 1) is approximately 150 pages

Description Book 1:
When Kallie Bennett, a jaded teenage girl plagued by her alcoholic mother and her peers molded out of sheer bubble gum perfection, chases after Alice in Wonderland herself, she ends up lost in her own version of Wonderland, which forces her to face her utmost fears and introduces her to familiar characters with a dark twist. Among these characters is Ches, a gorgeous vampire with a conflicted conscience, who becomes Kallie’s guide and blossoming love interest. She also crosses paths with Queen Hartley, a manipulative witch who has the power to strip away one’s memories and imagination, which brings a bone chilling new meaning to “off with their heads.” In The Search for Alice, Kallie starts to realize that her Wonderland is just as frightening as her own reality and that she cannot always run away from her problems. She must figure out a way to defeat Queen Hartley and return home before it is too late, but she soon learns that escaping Wonderland means leaving Ches behind forever...

Embracing the Looking-Glass (Book 2) is approximately 250 pages

Description Book 2:
Returning to Wonderland was never part of the plan, but destiny calls from beyond the Looking-Glass. Kallie Bennett thinks that she has left Wonderland behind, as she tries to move on with her life, but her curiosity continues to stir, luring her back there. Luring her back to Ches, the vampire who changed everything for her. In Embracing the Looking-Glass: Book Two of the Dreaming of Wonderland series, Kallie quickly realizes that Wonderland is at war. Queen Hartley has launched an attack, but a rebellion is forming. Kallie realizes that her return to Wonderland has become something more than chasing after the unknown. It’s her destiny and it’s up to her to tap into her inner strength to help Wonderland and defend the magical community before it is destroyed by darkness. Kallie will do anything to protect Ches, but at what cost? As much as she wants to believe that true love can conquer all, sometimes there is more at stake, but is she truly ready to sacrifice any chance at leading a normal life? How far would you go for the one you love?

Please feel free to contact me by email at if you are interested or if you have any questions at all!

Just looking for a few reviewers who might be interested in a YA portal fantasy that is a bit different, in that it involves a malicious dream catcher that goes vengeful and traps four teenagers in an alternate web world. It's on Amazon where you can read the summary:

Looking for a review / thoughts on a book called Avania. It is a Y.A. fantasy that follows the more traditional epic fantasy layout than the popular paranormal genre.

"Ava has spent her life in the shadows as a protector of royalty. For everything she has done well in her life, she still fails at being exactly who her kingdom wants her to be. A twist of fate gives her a new beginning. But, when the time comes where she can finally choose her own path, how will she decide between duty and destiny?"

It's set in a world with swords, sorcery and a dark antagonist:

Who wants to swap reviews for a YA novel (but not fantasy)? My newest is The Parkour Club: It promotes cross-cultural understanding (and embraces sport, adventure and romance). I'm an award-winning author and this newest release tackles some edgy issues (like refugees adapting to North American high school life, and Islamophobia). It's self-published because my usual publisher found it too edgy! Looking forward to reading yours...

Screamcatcher: Web Word just took the bronze medal for YA horror in the Reader's Favorite International Book Awards Contest.

5-Star review and badge in Reader's Favorite

Best YA Book of the Year--N. N. Light Novel Awards Competition.

I don't think I could be more proud of this one little lead-off book in the Screamcatcher trilogy. Most reviews, most sales and most awards. I'm going after a book-to-movie deal, lining up a screenwriter and assembling a pitch deck. I've already sent out 44 pitch letters to top producer/directors. I know I'm in for some hellish rejection, but I will see this through no matter what happens. Wish me luck, and I hope my health holds out and I live long enough to see a miracle.
