I've recently got hold of old Puffin copies of Greenwitch by Susan Cooper and of Elidor by Alan Garner. I remember reading the series from which they came when I was about 10 or 11, I think.

There is something special for me having old Puffins rather than more recent editions, even though I think I originally read them in hard back, as I would have borrowed them from the library. Something about the feel of them, the yellowed pages, the illustrations... Part of the appeal for me about older Penguins in general is that tactile link to the past.

Looking forward to the rereadings once I the first books in the series. Hope they read as well as I remember.

just changed it again because I got an older Puffin! One I had as a kid and completely forgot about until I saw it in a shop the other day.
