This software update is a complete mess. It's suddenly forced my Paperwhite into an undesired whispersync with my old Kindle Keyboard and I can't figure out how to get rid of this synchronization. I called Customer Service and got absolutely no help from a call taker who started telling me that I needed to register my different Kindles to different customer accounts! And he told me he'd call me back in about ten minutes and it's now getting close to an hour.
Incidentally, Amazon is also using this new software update to promote Goodreads with a home screen icon.
Very dissatisfied with Amazon at this point. I've got something like 1700+ books in my Amazon cloud, and I've used these two different Kindles to catalog them for different purposes. What Amazon has done with this forced synchronization has denied me user control over my collections.
