I'm up for a day trip. Thoughts on activities? I'd be happy to return to the Joseph Fox Bookshop.

>2 qebo: I'd definitely like to visit the Joseph Fox Bookshop again; I haven't been there since last year's meet up.

There is an exhibition that I'd like to see at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Treasures from Korea: Arts and Culture of the Joseon Dynasty, 1392-1910. However, we did visit the museum last year, and I can go there during the week, so I don't have to see it that Saturday.

Let me see what else is going on...

Ooh, several exhibitions at the Penn Museum (University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology) look particularly interesting, namely Native American Voices: The People—Here and Now, Imagine Africa, and Making and Unmaking Race. I'd definitely like to go there that week.

I haven't been to the new Barnes Foundation yet, so I could easily be talked into going there.

>4 kidzdoc: I'd definitely be interested in that. My old neighborhood.

>5 qebo: Cool; we should plan to do that, unless there are others who want to do something else instead. I'm a member of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, so I could see the Korea exhibition during the week.

Put me down as a maybe, Darryl. We have several family things on the boil so I can't commit just yet.

>7 lauralkeet: Will do, Laura!

I would finally like to participate in one of these meet-ups but unfortunately, and surprisingly, every weekend in May is already taken. Keep me in mind for the next one.

>9 catarina1: Sorry that you won't be able to join us, but hopefully we'll see you during a future meet up.

I probably won't be able to do another out-of-town meetup the weekend after DC, but I've starred the thread and will follow along just in case.

>11 _Zoe_: That's understandable, Zoë. Let me know if you'd be interested in meeting up in NYC during the week before then. I'll want to make at least one trip into the city to visit an old friend of mine.

I'm definitely interested in meeting up in NYC!

>13 _Zoe_: Sounds good. I'll touch base with you later this month, then.

Ack! I'm in Louisiana for a niece's wedding on May 10! :(

Put me down as a maybe! I'll need to find accommodations and will look into this later today.

May 10 is good for me. The last one was fun, but I did take a while to find the group in the huge Reading Terminal Market.

Put me down as a maybe, Darryl. I've got a couple really big church projects rights now and through the end of May, but I'd like to stop down for lunch or dinner if nothing else.

As of yesterday, Darryl's a maybe too. This leaves a whole lotta maybes.

>19 qebo: Yes; unfortunately I might not be able to make it. I will visit my parents in Bucks County from May 3-12, but we may want to visit my mother's older sister on the 10th, as she was recently discharged from Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center to a long term care facility in Hamilton, NJ, just north of Trenton. If we don't visit her on the 10th then I should be able to make it, but I probably won't know for sure until this coming weekend at the earliest, and more likely the following week after I talk with my parents in person.

I've updated the list of possible and probable attendees.

I've put myself back in the probable attendee list. My mother wants to visit her older sister (and so do I), but she and my father are both retired, and since I'm staying with them I would think we could see her during the week. I won't know for certain until this coming weekend until I arrive there, but for now I'd say that I'm in for the meet up.

Unfortunately I've developed a bad cold in the past few days, so I cancelled my tickets to visit my parents this weekend and rescheduled my visit for May 17-22. There is a slight chance that I might decide to come up for a short visit on Thursday or Friday, but I probably wouldn't go to Philadelphia on Saturday.

I'm afraid I'm not going to be able to make it either. Real life is just too busy at the moment.

I'm currently working on a very involved project for my church coming up May 24/25 involving a group coming down from Worcester Massachusetts so it's just as well for me that this be put off. I'll try very much to get there if people are still going to be coming, considering I'm only a few minutes west of Philly, but it sounds to me like it might make more sense to put this off until some time when Darryl's better able to make it up from Atlanta and when some of the other real out-of-the-area folks are more available.

Yeah, this just doesn't seem the right time. I just returned from a weekend at the DC meetup, so I'm just as glad to have next weekend free to tend my garden.

Alrighty then. Maybe we can get together this coming autumn, before the cold weather sets in.

I'm personally hoping to get up to Ellsworth Maine meetup in the beginning of September. Doesn't mean I'm not up for a local Philly meetup too, but I plan to stay up there for possibly a couple weeks doing photography.

I'll almost certainly be in London for the first two weeks of September, so that wouldn't be a good time for me. Hopefully I can get back up there in late September or some time in October.

I have to bail, too. Turns out I had already agreed to travelling to visit mom-in-law for Mothers' Day on that weekend.

>30 laytonwoman3rd: We should plan a meet up for the fall. I'll probably be in London during the first half of September, and I'll almost certainly be in California in early to mid October (the American Academy of Pediatrics' national conference is in San Diego October 11-14), but hopefully I can make it up there some other time this coming autumn.
