Those covers look absolutely gorgeous! Perhaps it's time to replace my old MMPB editions of the early Discworld novels, they don't really age well...

Unrelated but awesome: Apparently this is the shirt Sir Terry wears to conventions:

Lovely idea, but I think I like the T-shirt more than the new editions.

The new editions look good. Certainly better than those ugly US covers.

But my first priorty is completing my letterbox editions.
These empty spaces deserve filling:

Nice! I'm like you Jerry, with gaps in many of the same places. Is that Witches Abroad, eighth from the left on the top shelf?

yup.

They're available on amazon, and if you can afford them at a similar to 'newly signed from paul kidby' price for good copies. ebay has more expensive copies, but probably better quality.
I can only afford one a year at these prices, along with the new works I have to buy while he can still write them.

Unfortunately the postage costs ro New Zealand would be diabolical ...

Ya, that's often a problem for me too. 25 ukp for a newly officially signed Science of Discworld IV from PJSM prints (Paul Kidby) becomes 45 euro for me. All this while when you get it from play.com you can get it from 19e...

I think it's worth it, but it does mean these are the only books I can afford to buy. The occasional 1e 2nd hand paperback from the thriftstore or year market to read and pass along left uncounted.

I find those covers utterly boring! Where's the fun? Where's the pizzaz? Where is the magic?

If you're talking about the new collector's editions, then yes, I agree with you. But if you're referring to Jerry's gorgeous hardcovers, then I may have to hunt you down!

I only own DW novels with that original cover artist (kirby?), up till the fifth Elephent , after that it becomes a bit eclectic and Hard covers from Going Postal or so, from then on. I must say I prefered the original covers . I am just pleased I own all 39 in the canon and am looking forward to #40 in november.

Next up after completing the letterbox editions is the completion of the yearbooks. After that I hope to complete the real original hardcovers. I currently only have the first 2 in their original covers, although they are later editions.

Oh bugger, more DW stuff I need :-(

Acording to Wiki The Diaries extend from 1999 to 2007 with none in 2004-2006.
In 2004 The Discworld almanac was a sort of substitute.
OK so far. 8 new goodies to try and get. Evidently 1999 is getting quite expensive.

I can't seem to find a complete lists of Calendars though. They seem to go back to 2010 to 2014.
Does anyone know of any earlier ones?

Next a game of THUD :-)

ETA: Just looked at Book Depository and they have a calendar back to 1999 (not is stock) but I'm still unsure if they are continuous to 2014. They also have a 'mini' calendar for 2000. Does anyone know about that one?

To go even further off topic:

There's a couple more DW themed board games out there now as well, Guido.
They aren't as much part of the canon as Thud, but they are officially licensed.

I find Ankh-Morpork quite fun and The Witches also looks promising. Guards guards not so much.

That's it. Between Doctor Who and these, I'm moving to England. I love the simplicity and elegance of the new covers.
