One of my lesser known and earlier works, "A Knight on Horseback," placed fifth in the contemporary novel category out of a field of 150+ entries in this year's International Digital Awards. I'm so very happy with the placement, since I didn't think I'd even place to begin with, and the subject matter of the story prickled at some of my readers. What is heartening and a sign of the changing environment in publishing is that many of the winners were self-published. This was a juried contest hosted by the Oklahoma Chapter of Romance Writers of America.
