This is usually my favourite collection, but this time round that was number 7, still love the format of this one, stories within stories

One thing that struck me reading it this time is how this book is actually a bit like the evening at World's End in the big arc of Sandman. A break, an intermission, a place to wait and reflect a bit, in wait for the climax of the next book.

It is very nice, isn't it, that we get to sit down with a few stories, and then see, along with the characters, the amazing procession across the sky.
(Another) One of my favorite installments, this is. :)

I did finish this a while back. The structure of stories within stories was very good and I liked most of them. I also liked the idea of reality storms and the Inn where those caught up in it wait it out.

I've just completed this volume and I found it brought bittersweet feelings. Perhaps it is just me knowing that the series is getting close to the end, but I felt this was the authors acknowledgment that the end is coming. So many returning characters in the various tales and the funeral procession across the sky made me feel that goodbyes were in the air. I've posted my review on the book page, and count this volume as one that I can see myself revisiting.

I am going to miss my monthly Sandman read. I couldn't wait till next month though and went ahead with Volume 9.

I enjoyed this collection, especially the way Gaiman worked with the story-within-a-story concept. Like the rest of you, I'm also sad that the series is nearing an end.
