My wife recently told me of her interest in erotic literature and mentioned a paperback she read as a teenager in the mid 1980's. She said it was the most arousing, erotic thing she had ever read and I'd like to find it for her. Unfortunately, she has no idea of author, title or even character names. She did have a few plot details that I'd like to share - hopefully they are not too racy for this group or site.

The main female character enters another "realm" whenever she falls asleep, where there is a "demon" or other type of creature that has her chained up and performs all types of sexual acts with her. The biggest detail she could share is that this "creature" has 3 penises and uses them all to pleasure the main character.

My guess is that the timeframe of publication would be mid to late 1970's to mid 1980's.

I would be very grateful if anyone has any insight as to a title, author, publisher, or, even better, where a copy may be available!

Sorry, can't help. I've been around, but I think I'd remember 'three penises'. I'm pretty sure it's not 'Lucky Jim'! I wonder if the SF community might recognise it ...

Missed that one when I was a teenager in the mid-1980's, I'm sorry to say.

Was reading a fair bit of SF around that time, but I'm afraid I've never heard of it - would like to know more!

I'd hate to see us skunked on this one - sounds interesting. A 70's erotic fantasy paperback should have a suitably lurid cover, which might help the search. I don't suppose Ms. Booklover remembers any other details?

Worth running this by one of the SF groups?

It sounds almost like the plot of several Brian McNaughton books. He wrote 4 horror books in the late 70's/early 80's dealing with this kind of subject, i.e., occult horror peppered with graphic sex scenes. I've only read the first book, and have got the next 2 on my to be read pile, and I have yet to acquire the fourth. They were published by the paperback porn publishers Carlyle. McNaughton would later release them in editorially altered editions with different titles. The original titles were:

Satan's Love Child ~ 1977
Satan's Mistress ~ 1978
Satan's Seductress ~ 1979
Satan's Surrogate ~ 1982

Interesting. I was aware of McNaughton's Throne of Bones as a cult horror novel that I'd just never got around to, but had never heard of the Satan series.

Looking at the reviews, I'm afraid I'm much more likely to pick up one of the original editions, deliriously tacky covers, gratuitous porn scenes and all!

You and me both. Something else to keep an eye out for.
