Rick's post reminded me that I know next to nothing about the ol' man, except that he wrote comprehensible books on James Joyce and that he took potshots at Norman Douglas, once the most civilized man alive, in his book Earthly Powers
Two questions :
Which biography of AB would you recommend me ?
Anybody interested in a group read of Earthly Powers ? In a month or so, after Rick's Japanese picknick ?

Well, obviously I am--perhaps it can be squeezed between Mishima halves...

Darn, I read Earthly Powers last summer with the Lit Snobs. It was a great book. I might be interested in a good bio though.

Biography?? No!! Autobiography!!! Burgess's autobio is so great and I remember it better than most of his novels. It comes in two volumes with great titles, Little Wilson and Big God and You've Had Your Time.

I will participate in a read of either Earthly Powers or the autob.
