So I really want to try to read as many books as I can this year. Now that I'm done with school I have a lot more free time and I think I can do it. I don't think I have ever read this many books in a year but I am going to see if I can make it.

Yes, welcome. As Bryan says, 100 books is very achievable when you discover so many great books here.

1) The Child Thief: A Novel
A beautiful but dark story that took me on a trip that I never thought I would see.
3/5 stars

2) Hunger Games
Love this series. Felt like it was time for a reread.
5/5 starts from me.

I loved that series as well. Have you read the Patrick Ness books - The Knife of Never Letting Go?

judylou,

I don't think I've even heard of the author. What does he write?

3) Catching Fire
I enjoyed this book, but no where near as much as I love the first one. Well on to the last book....

Simplekind, you'll make it easily. ;)

Let me know what you think of Mockingjay when you finish. I wasn't expecting the...uh...well...change.

Oh, I must finish the Hunger Games trilogy...

Patrick Ness has written some adult fiction, but for me I noticed him when he wrote the truly brilliant Knife of Never Letting Go, the first in the Chaos Walking trilogy. I really liked all three books, and would recommend them to anyone who likes the darker dystopian YA literature.

allthesepieces.

I have read the series before but it has been a while. The last time I read them was when Mockingjay came out. I really wanted to reread them since the second book will be making a movie apperence sometime soon and I like having the book fresh in my mind.

The first book I loved, the second one I liked but if felt like it was just all leading up to the last book. And the last book? Well I didn't expect it to work out the way it did, thats for sure. I really just broke my heart but at the same time really made me wonder about what kind of choices I would have made in any of their places.

You really should finish the series. How far have you read? The last book is just amazing.

Dystiopian and Post-Apocolyptic novels are my favorite. I just love seeing what people do when they think they have no other option; will they fight? Will they give in? It is facinating to me. I do tend to look more towards YA but I'll give most anything a shot.

I've only read the first - I had mixed feelings about it, given the whole kids-killing-kids-for-entertainment theme, especially given the look Mr Bear gave me when I summarised the plot for him. (He'd heard about it at school, of course, but had no idea what it was about.)

But I do want to read on, I have the next two books ready, I just have too many other reading commitments at the moment! (Hang on, when did reading become a commitment...)

hehehe . . . for me it was when I joined LT!!

4) Mockingjay

I find that reading is always a commitment for me. Whether in school or on here. But I take a lot of pleasure out of it since I love reading so much.

First it's the library book which needs to go back on Wednesday, then it's the wishlist that keeps growing larger, then it's the new book challenge with a quickly-approaching deadline, then...

5) The Magicians

This was a really hard book to finish. I tried so hard to get through it but I had to fight. When I am reading, though, I fell like when I make it to a certain point in a book I have to finish no matter what it takes. Now I can move on and read something great.

Oh, I really enjoyed The Magicians, but I've heard it's not everyone's cup of tea. But I am finding it easier as I get older (or get more book recommendations than I can handle) to give up on books I'm not enjoying. Life's too short, and there are other books out there I'd rather be spending my time with. :)

6) Iodine

This was very different then most of the books I have read. It is written in dream journals and stream of conciousness; not something I am used to. As the reader you never knew what was true and what just happened in Trace's head. No questions are answered even at the end. It is beautiful yet terrifying.

7) The Defender

I love a good Pink Book every once in a while.

9) The War of the Flowers
by: Tad Williams

This book was lent to me by a friend. It took me a few weeks to read it. I enjoyed it, as I always do when I read Tad Williams, but I had some serious issues with Theo Vilmos. He just didn't seem to have any fight in him.

10) Clockwork Angel

11) Clockwork Prince

12) Clockwork Princess

I have read the first and second book before but was unsure how I felt about them. After the last book came out I decided to reread and fell in love with the series. I could not put them down.

13) 13 Little Blue Envelopes

I have had this book on my shelf for a while yet have not read it. Very glad I did. It was short, sweet and it made me want to pack my backpack and hop on a plane.

Oh, I do have to say I really enjoyed Cassandra Clare's original trilogy; I must chase up the library for the Clockwork Angel series now too!

Wookiebender

I love her Mortal Instruments series so when she came out with the infernal devices I had to read them. At first I did not like that as much but after reading the final book...I think I might just like them even better the the first series.

14) The Fault In Our Stars

I've been sitting on this book for a while but only just got to read it. I've read most of John Green's work but I think this is definitely my favorite. It is beautiful yet sad.

It is still languishing on my ereader. But with all the good reviews I am reading, it should be read soon.

15) The Lightning Thief
By Rick Riordan

16) Sea of Monsters
By Rick Riordan

17) The Titan's Curse
By Rick Riordan

18) The Battle of the Labyrinth
By Rick Riordan

19) The Last Olympian
By Rick Riordan

These books were my husbands and he has been talking about me reading them for forever. I finally decided too and I couldn't not put them down. I want more!

I'm reading Percy Jackson with Mr Bear and they are good fun!

I read the first one a while back and always intended to read the rest, but have just not got there yet.

Judy, I do have to say that I found the first Percy Jackson a bit clunky, but the others have been highly entertaining. It's especially fun trying to pick the myth when he first runs into it. (I got Circe very early, but the lotus eaters had to be explained to me. :)
