***Let's Talk About Club Read 2013!

It's that time of year to start thinking about Club Read 2013 and another great reading year! (Thanks, lilisin, for reminding me!)

I am happy to set it up once again and hope to have time to do so next weekend.

I want to thank this year's volunteers, both formal and informal, and all of you for making this such a fun and interesting group. In particular, thanks to stretch for the bimonthly interesting article threads, Dan/dchaikin for the monthly what are you reading threads, and Barry/baswood for the quarterly and upcoming year end best reads threads.

This thread is for all of us to discuss what, if anything, we might like to see changed or improved for 2012 and to solicit volunteers for setting up:

Bimonthly interesting articles threads
Monthly what are you reading threads
Quarterly and year-end best reads threads

For the Questions for the Avid Reader thread, I have some ideas for how to keep this going which will appear in one of the questions in December.

Of course, this shouldn't stop anyone from starting any thread he or she thinks would be interesting!

I wouldn't mind taking charge of the monthly "What are you Reading" threads. I'm hardly away from my computer so it'd be easy for me to take care of.

I am usually around on the last days of a quarter and can do summaries early in the next quarters. :)

Kath - Welcome to LT! Club Read is a Group on LibraryThing. Within these groups members can start and post on threads for discussions. The top of this page has a link to the group page.

Club Read specifically is designed as a place to keep variations of personal readers logs/diaries/list/something different/etc. on LT...and then talk about the books or other topics. Every year we start a new Group. So, this thread is in the group Club Read 2012. The 2013 group doesn't exist yet.

In some strange way, this little group works wonderfully and results in (1) adding long lists of books to those we want to read and (2), at least for me personally, gets us to think more about our books and maybe explore them in more depth. Feel free to look around. Enjoy.
